তোমরা কি মানুষকে সৎকর্মের নির্দেশ দাও এবং নিজেরা নিজেদেরকে ভূলে যাও, অথচ তোমরা কিতাব পাঠ কর? তবুও কি তোমরা চিন্তা কর না?
Do ye enjoin right conduct on the people, and forget (To practise it) yourselves, and yet ye study the Scripture? Will ye not understand? |

আর তোমাদের মধ্যে এমন একটা দল থাকা উচিত যারা আহবান জানাবে সৎকর্মের প্রতি, নির্দেশ দেবে ভাল কাজের এবং বারণ করবে অন্যায় কাজ থেকে, আর তারাই হলো সফলকাম।
Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity. |

সেসমস্ত লোক, যারা আনুগত্য অবলম্বন করে এ রসূলের, যিনি উম্মী নবী, যাঁর সম্পর্কে তারা নিজেদের কাছে রক্ষিত তওরাত ও ইঞ্জিলে লেখা দেখতে পায়, তিনি তাদেরকে নির্দেশ দেন সৎকর্মের, বারণ করেন অসৎকর্ম থেকে; তাদের জন্য যাবতীয় পবিত্র বস্তু হালাল ঘোষনা করেন ও নিষিদ্ধ করেন হারাম বস্তুসমূহ এবং তাদের উপর থেকে সে বোঝা নামিয়ে দেন এবং বন্দীত্ব অপসারণ করেন যা তাদের উপর বিদ্যমান ছিল। সুতরাং যেসব লোক তাঁর উপর ঈমান এনেছে, তাঁর সাহচর্য অবলম্বন করেছে, তাঁকে সাহায্য করেছে এবং সে নূরের অনুসরণ করেছে যা তার সাথে অবতীর্ণ করা হয়েছে, শুধুমাত্র তারাই নিজেদের উদ্দেশ্য সফলতা অর্জন করতে পেরেছে।
"Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper." |

And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- |
