বালিকাদ্বয়ের একজন বলল পিতাঃ তাকে চাকর নিযুক্ত করুন। কেননা, আপনার চাকর হিসেবে সে-ই উত্তম হবে, যে শক্তিশালী ও বিশ্বস্ত।
Said one of the (damsels): "O my (dear) father! engage him on wages: truly the best of men for thee to employ is the (man) who is strong and trusty".... |

যে কুফরী করে, তার কফুরের জন্যে সে-ই দায়ী এবং যে সৎকর্ম করে, তারা নিজেদের পথই শুধরে নিচ্ছে।
Those who reject Faith will suffer from that rejection: and those who work righteousness will spread their couch (of repose) for themselves (in heaven): |

যে ব্যক্তি দয়াময় আল্লাহর স্মরণ থেকে চোখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়, আমি তার জন্যে এক শয়তান নিয়োজিত করে দেই, অতঃপর সে-ই হয় তার সঙ্গী।
If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of (Allah) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him. |

হে মানব, আমি তোমাদেরকে এক পুরুষ ও এক নারী থেকে সৃষ্টি করেছি এবং তোমাদেরকে বিভিন্ন জাতি ও গোত্রে বিভক্ত করেছি, যাতে তোমরা পরস্পরে পরিচিতি হও। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহর কাছে সে-ই সর্বাধিক সম্ভ্রান্ত যে সর্বাধিক পরহেযগার। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ সর্বজ্ঞ, সবকিছুর খবর রাখেন।
O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). |

যে ব্যক্তি উপুড় হয়ে মুখে ভর দিয়ে চলে, সে-ই কি সৎ পথে চলে, না সে ব্যক্তি যে সোজা হয়ে সরলপথে চলে?
Is then one who walks headlong, with his face grovelling, better guided,- or one who walks evenly on a Straight Way? |
