তারা বলল, তুমি তোমার পালনকর্তার কাছে আমাদের জন্য প্রার্থনা কর, যেন সেটির রূপ বিশ্লেষণ করা হয়। মূসা (আঃ) বললেন, তিনি বলছেন, সেটা হবে একটা গাভী, যা বৃদ্ধ নয় এবং কুমারীও নয়-বার্ধক্য ও যৌবনের মাঝামাঝি বয়সের। এখন আদিষ্ট কাজ করে ফেল।
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what (heifer) it is!" He said; "He says: The heifer should be neither too old nor too young, but of middling age. Now do what ye are commanded!" |
(আল বাকারা:

তারা বলল, আপনি প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করুন-তিনি বলে দিন যে, সেটা কিরূপ? কেননা, গরু আমাদের কাছে সাদৃশ্যশীল মনে হয়। ইনশাআল্লাহ এবার আমরা অবশ্যই পথপ্রাপ্ত হব। মূসা (আঃ) বললেন, তিনি বলেন যে, এ গাভী ভূকর্ষণ ও জল সেচনের শ্রমে অভ্যস্ত নয়-হবে নিষ্কলঙ্ক, নিখুঁত।
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills." |
(আল বাকারা:

তারা বলল, এবার সঠিক তথ্য এনেছ। অতঃপর তারা সেটা জবাই করল, অথচ জবাই করবে বলে মনে হচ্ছিল না।
He said: "He says: A heifer not trained to till the soil or water the fields; sound and without blemish." They said: "Now hast thou brought the truth." Then they offered her in sacrifice, but not with good-will. |

যখন ইব্রাহীম বললেন, পরওয়ারদেগার! এ স্থানকে তুমি শান্তিধান কর এবং এর অধিবাসীদের মধ্যে যারা অল্লাহ ও কিয়ামতে বিশ্বাস করে, তাদেরকে ফলের দ্বারা রিযিক দান কর। বললেনঃ যারা অবিশ্বাস করে, আমি তাদেরও কিছুদিন ফায়দা ভোগ করার সুযোগ দেব, অতঃপর তাদেরকে বলপ্রয়োগে দোযখের আযাবে ঠেলে দেবো; সেটা নিকৃষ্ট বাসস্থান।
And remember Abraham said: "My Lord, make this a City of Peace, and feed its people with fruits,-such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day." He said: "(Yea), and such as reject Faith,-for a while will I grant them their pleasure, but will soon drive them to the torment of Fire,- an evil destination (indeed)!" |

বাস্তব সত্য সেটাই যা তোমার পালনকর্তা বলেন। কাজেই তুমি সন্দিহান হয়ো না।
The Truth is from thy Lord; so be not at all in doubt. |
(আল বাকারা:
আয়াতঃ ১৪৭) |
| 6 |
কাফেরদিগকে বলে দিন, খুব শিগগীরই তোমরা পরাভূত হয়ে দোযখের দিকে হাঁকিয়ে নীত হবে-সেটা কতই না নিকৃষ্টতম অবস্থান।
Say to those who reject Faith: "Soon will ye be vanquished and gathered together to Hell,-an evil bed indeed (to lie on)! |
(আল ইমরান:
আয়াতঃ ১২) |

যারা তোমাদের ধর্মমতে চলবে, তাদের ছাড়া আর কাউকে বিশ্বাস করবে না। বলে দিন নিঃসন্দেহে হেদায়েত সেটাই, যে হেদায়েত আল্লাহ করেন। আর এসব কিছু এ জন্যে যে, তোমরা যা লাভ করেছিলে তা অন্য কেউ কেন প্রাপ্ত হবে, কিংবা তোমাদের পালনকর্তার সামনে তোমাদের উপর তারা কেন প্রবল হয়ে যাবে! বলে দিন, মর্যাদা আল্লাহরই হাতে; তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছা দান করেন এবং আল্লাহ প্রাচুর্যময় ও সর্বজ্ঞ।
"And believe no one unless he follows your religion." Say: "True guidance is the Guidance of Allah: (Fear ye) Lest a revelation be sent to someone (else) Like unto that which was sent unto you? or that those (Receiving such revelation) should engage you in argument before your Lord?" Say: "All bounties are in the hand of Allah: He granteth them to whom He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things." |

নিঃসন্দেহে সর্বপ্রথম ঘর যা মানুষের জন্যে নির্ধারিত হয়েছে, সেটাই হচ্ছে এ ঘর, যা মক্কায় অবস্থিত এবং সারা জাহানের মানুষের জন্য হেদায়েত ও বরকতময়।
The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings: |

আর তোমরা আকাঙ্ক্ষা করো না এমন সব বিষয়ে যাতে আল্লাহ তা’আলা তোমাদের একের উপর অপরের শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দান করেছেন। পুরুষ যা অর্জন করে সেটা তার অংশ এবং নারী যা অর্জন করে সেটা তার অংশ। আর আল্লাহর কাছে তাঁর অনুগ্রহ প্রার্থনা কর। নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহ তা’আলা সর্ব বিষয়ে জ্ঞাত।
And in no wise covet those things in which Allah Hath bestowed His gifts More freely on some of you than on others: To men is allotted what they earn, and to women what they earn: But ask Allah of His bounty. For Allah hath full knowledge of all things. |
(আন নিসা:

কোন কোন ইহুদী তার লক্ষ্য থেকে কথার মোড় ঘুড়িয়ে নেয় এবং বলে, আমরা শুনেছি কিন্তু অমান্য করছি। তারা আরো বলে, শোন, না শোনার মত। মুখ বাঁকিয়ে দ্বীনের প্রতি তাচ্ছিল্য প্রদর্শনের উদ্দেশে বলে, রায়েনা’ (আমাদের রাখাল)। অথচ যদি তারা বলত যে, আমরা শুনেছি ও মান্য করেছি এবং (যদি বলত, ) শোন এবং আমাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য রাখ, তবে তাই ছিল তাদের জন্য উত্তম আর সেটাই ছিল যথার্থ ও সঠিক। কিন্তু আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি অভিসম্পাত করেছেন তাদের কুফরীর দরুন। অতএব, তারা ঈমান আনছে না, কিন্তু অতি অল্পসংখ্যক।
Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith. If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe. |

আপনার যে কল্যাণ হয়, তা হয় আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে আর আপনার যে অকল্যাণ হয়, সেটা হয় আপনার নিজের কারণে। আর আমি আপনাকে পাঠিয়েছি মানুষের প্রতি আমার পয়গামের বাহক হিসাবে। আর আল্লাহ সব বিষয়েই যথেষ্ট-সববিষয়ই তাঁর সম্মুখে উপস্থিত।
Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah; but whatever evil happens to thee, is from thy (own) soul. and We have sent thee as a messenger to (instruct) mankind. And enough is Allah for a witness. |
(আন নিসা:
আয়াতঃ ৭৯) |
| 12 |
আর যে লোক সেদিন তাদের থেকে পশ্চাদপসরণ করবে, অবশ্য যে লড়াইয়ের কৌশল পরিবর্তনকল্পে কিংবা যে নিজ সৈন্যদের নিকট আশ্রয় নিতে আসে সে ব্যতীত অন্যরা আল্লাহর গযব সাথে নিয়ে প্রত্যাবর্তন করবে। আর তার ঠিকানা হল জাহান্নাম। বস্তুতঃ সেটা হল নিকৃষ্ট অবস্থান।
If any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own)- he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)! |
(আল-আনফাল:
আয়াতঃ ১৬) |
| 13 |
ওয়াদা করেছেন আল্লাহ, মুনাফেক পুরুষ ও মুনাফেক নারীদের এবং কাফেরদের জন্যে দোযখের আগুনের-তাতে পড়ে থাকবে সর্বদা। সেটাই তাদের জন্যে যথেষ্ট। আর আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি অভিসম্পাত করেছেন এবং তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে স্থায়ী আযাব।
Allah hath promised the Hypocrites men and women, and the rejecters, of Faith, the fire of Hell: Therein shall they dwell: Sufficient is it for them: for them is the curse of Allah, and an enduring punishment,- |
(আত তাওবাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৬৮) |
| 14 |
কেয়ামতের দিন সে তার জাতির লোকদের আগে আগে থাকবে এবং তাদেরকে জাহান্নামের আগুনে পৌঁছে দিবে। আর সেটা অতীব নিকৃষ্ট স্থান, সেখানে তারা পৌঁছেছে।।
He will go before his people on the Day of Judgment, and lead them into the Fire (as cattle are led to water): But woeful indeed will be the place to which they are led! |
(হুদ:
আয়াতঃ ৯৮) |
| 15 |
যারা পালনকর্তার আদেশ পালন করে, তাদের জন্য উত্তম প্রতিদান রয়েছে এবং যারা আদেশ পালন করে না, যদি তাদের কাছে জগতের সবকিছু থাকে এবং তার সাথে তার সমপরিমাণ আরও থাকে, তবে সবই নিজেদের মুক্তিপণ স্বরূপ দিয়ে দেবে। তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে কঠোর হিসাব। তাদের আবাস হবে জাহান্নাম। সেটা কতইনা নিকৃষ্ট অবস্থান।
For those who respond to their Lord, are (all) good things. But those who respond not to Him,- Even if they had all that is in the heavens and on earth, and as much more, (in vain) would they offer it for ransom. For them will the reckoning be terrible: their abode will be Hell,- what a bed of misery! |
(রা'দ:
আয়াতঃ ১৮) |
| 16 |
দোযখের? তারা তাতে প্রবেশ করবে সেটা কতই না মন্দ আবাস।
Into Hell? They will burn therein,- an evil place to stay in! |
(ইব্রাহীম:
আয়াতঃ ২৯) |
| 17 |
বলুন এটা উত্তম, না চিরকাল বসবাসের জান্নাত, যার সুসংবাদ দেয়া হয়েছে মুত্তাকীদেরকে? সেটা হবে তাদের প্রতিদান ও প্রত্যাবর্তন স্থান।
Say: "Is that best, or the eternal garden, promised to the righteous? for them, that is a reward as well as a goal (of attainment). |
(আল-ফুরকান:
আয়াতঃ ১৫) |
| 18 |
অতঃপর তারা তাঁকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলে দিল। ফলে তাদেরকে মেঘাচ্ছন্ন দিবসের আযাব পাকড়াও করল। নিশ্চয় সেটা ছিল এক মহাদিবসের আযাব।
But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. |
(আশ-শো'আরা:
আয়াতঃ ১৮৯) |
| 19 |
অতঃপর যখন বিলকীস এসে গেল, তখন তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হল, তোমার সিংহাসন কি এরূপই? সে বলল, মনে হয় এটা সেটাই। আমরা পূর্বেই সমস্ত অবগত হয়েছি এবং আমরা আজ্ঞাবহও হয়ে গেছি।
So when she arrived, she was asked, "Is this thy throne?" She said, "It was just like this; and knowledge was bestowed on us in advance of this, and we have submitted to Allah (in Islam)." |

আয়াতঃ ৪২) |
| 20 |
অতএব, আজ তোমাদের কাছ থেকে কোন মুক্তিপন গ্রহণ করা হবে না। এবং কাফেরদের কাছ থেকেও নয়। তোমাদের সবার আবাস্থল জাহান্নাম। সেটাই তোমাদের সঙ্গী। কতই না নিকৃষ্ট এই প্রত্যাবর্তন স্থল।
"This Day shall no ransom be accepted of you, nor of those who rejected Allah." Your abode is the Fire: that is the proper place to claim you: and an evil refuge it is!" |
(আল হাদীদ:
আয়াতঃ ১৫) |
| 21 |
হে নবী! কাফের ও মুনাফিকদের বিরুদ্ধে জেহাদ করুন এবং তাদের প্রতি কঠোর হোন। তাদের ঠিকানা জাহান্নাম। সেটা কতই না নিকৃষ্ট স্থান।
O Prophet! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed). |
(আত-তাহরীম:
আয়াতঃ ৯) |
| 22 |
যারা তাদের পালনকর্তাকে অস্বীকার করেছে তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে জাহান্নামের শাস্তি। সেটা কতই না নিকৃষ্ট স্থান।
For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination. |

| 23 |
আপনি জানেন, যে রাত্রিতে আসে সেটা কি?
And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- |

সেটা এক উজ্জ্বল নক্ষত্র।
(It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- |
