তোমরা সত্যকে মিথ্যার সাথে মিশিয়ে দিও না এবং জানা সত্ত্বে সত্যকে তোমরা গোপন করো না।
And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is). |

আমি যাদেরকে কিতাব দান করেছি, তারা তাকে চেনে, যেমন করে চেনে নিজেদের পুত্রদেরকে। আর নিশ্চয়ই তাদের একটি সম্প্রদায় জেনে শুনে সত্যকে গোপন করে।
The people of the Book know this as they know their own sons; but some of them conceal the truth which they themselves know. |

হে আহলে কিতাবগণ, কেন তোমরা সত্যকে মিথ্যার সাথে সংমিশ্রণ করছ এবং সত্যকে গোপন করছ, অথচ তোমরা তা জান।
Ye People of the Book! Why do ye clothe Truth with falsehood, and conceal the Truth, while ye have knowledge? |

আর তারা রসূলের প্রতি যা অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে, তা যখন শুনে, তখন আপনি তাদের চোখ অশ্রু সজল দেখতে পাবেন; এ কারণে যে, তারা সত্যকে চিনে নিয়েছে। তারা বলেঃ হে আমাদের প্রতি পালক, আমরা মুসলমান হয়ে গেলাম। অতএব, আমাদেরকেও মান্যকারীদের তালিকাভুক্ত করে নিন।
And when they listen to the revelation received by the Messenger, thou wilt see their eyes overflowing with tears, for they recognise the truth: they pray: "Our Lord! we believe; write us down among the witnesses. |

অতএব, অবশ্য তারা সত্যকে মিথ্যা বলেছে যখন তা তাদের কাছে এসেছে। বস্তুতঃ অচিরেই তাদের কাছে ঐ বিষয়ের সংবাদ আসবে, যার সাথে তারা উপহাস করত।
And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at. |

আর যখন আল্লাহ দু’টি দলের একটির ব্যাপারে তোমাদের সাথে ওয়াদা করেছিলেন যে, সেটি তোমাদের হস্তগত হবে, আর তোমরা কামনা করছিলে যাতে কোন রকম কন্টক নেই, তাই তোমাদের ভাগে আসুক; অথচ আল্লাহ চাইতেন সত্যকে স্বীয় কালামের মাধ্যমে সত্যে পরিণত করতে এবং কাফেরদের মূল কর্তন করে দিতে,
Behold! Allah promised you one of the two (enemy) parties, that it should be yours: Ye wished that the one unarmed should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the Truth according to His words and to cut off the roots of the Unbelievers;- |

যাতে করে সত্যকে সত্য এবং মিথ্যাকে মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করে দেন, যদিও পাপীরা অসন্তুষ্ট হয়।
That He might justify Truth and prove Falsehood false, distasteful though it be to those in guilt. |
(আল-আনফাল:
আয়াতঃ ৮) |

আল্লাহ সত্যকে সত্যে পরিণত করেন স্বীয় নির্দেশে যদিও পাপীদের তা মনঃপুত নয়।
"And Allah by His words doth prove and establish His truth, however much the sinners may hate it!" |

আমি রাসূলগনকে সুসংবাদ দাতা ও ভয় প্রদর্শন কারীরূপেই প্রেরণ করি এবং কাফেররাই মিথ্যা অবলম্বনে বিতর্ক করে, তা দ্বারা সত্যকে ব্যর্থ করে দেয়ার উদ্দেশে এবং তারা আমার নিদর্শনাবলীও যদ্বারা তাদেরকে ভয় প্রদর্শন করা হয়, সেগুলোকে ঠাট্টারূপে গ্রহণ করেছে।
We only send the messengers to give Glad Tidings and to give warnings: But the unbelievers dispute with vain argument, in order therewith to weaken the truth, and they treat My Signs as a jest, as also the fact that they are warned! |

বরং আমি সত্যকে মিথ্যার উপর নিক্ষেপ করি, অতঃপর সত্য মিথ্যার মস্তক চুর্ণ-বিচূর্ণ করে দেয়, অতঃপর মিথ্যা তৎক্ষণাৎ নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়ে যায়। তোমরা যা বলছ, তার জন্যে তোমাদের দুর্ভোগ।
Nay, We hurl the Truth against falsehood, and it knocks out its brain, and behold, falsehood doth perish! Ah! woe be to you for the (false) things ye ascribe (to Us). |
(আম্বিয়া:
আয়াতঃ ১৮) |

না তারা বলে যে, তিনি পাগল ? বরং তিনি তাদের কাছে সত্য নিয়ে আগমন করেছেন এবং তাদের অধিকাংশ সত্যকে অপছন্দ করে।
Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ৭০) |

অথচ তারা পূর্ব থেকে সত্যকে অস্বীকার করছিল। আর তারা সত্য হতে দূরে থেকে অজ্ঞাত বিষয়ের উপর মন্তব্য করত।
Seeing that they did reject Faith (entirely) before, and that they (continually) cast (slanders) on the unseen from a position far off? |

যারা সত্য নিয়ে আগমন করছে এবং সত্যকে সত্য মেনে নিয়েছে; তারাই তো খোদাভীরু।
And he who brings the Truth and he who confirms (and supports) it - such are the men who do right. |
(আল-যুমার:
আয়াতঃ ৩৩) |

নাকি তারা একথা বলে যে, তিনি আল্লাহর বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যা রটনা করেছেন? আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করলে আপনার অন্তরে মোহর এঁটে দিতেন। বস্তুতঃ তিনি মিথ্যাকে মিটিয়ে দেন এবং নিজ বাক্য দ্বারা সত্যকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেন। নিশ্চয় তিনি অন্তর্নিহিত বিষয় সম্পর্কে সর্বিশেষ জ্ঞাত।
What! Do they say, "He has forged a falsehood against Allah"? But if Allah willed, He could seal up thy heart. And Allah blots out Vanity, and proves the Truth by His Words. For He knows well the secrets of all hearts. |
