ইহুদীদের জন্যে আমি প্রত্যেক নখবিশিষ্ট জন্তু হারাম করেছিলাম এবং ছাগল ও গরু থেকে এতদুভয়ের চর্বি আমি তাদের জন্যে হারাম করেছিলাম, কিন্তু ঐ চর্বি, যা পৃষ্টে কিংবা অন্ত্রে সংযুক্ত থাকে অথবা অস্থির সাথে মিলিত থাকে। তাদের অবাধ্যতার কারণে আমি তাদেরকে এ শাস্তি দিয়েছিলাম। আর আমি অবশ্যই সত্যবাদী।
For those who followed the Jewish Law, We forbade every (animal) with undivided hoof, and We forbade them that fat of the ox and the sheep, except what adheres to their backs or their entrails, or is mixed up with a bone: this in recompense for their wilful disobedience: for We are true (in Our ordinances). |

তারা বললঃ মূসা আমাদের কাছে ফিরে আসা পর্যন্ত আমরা সদাসর্বদা এর সাথেই সংযুক্ত হয়ে বসে থাকব।
They had said: "We will not abandon this cult, but we will devote ourselves to it until Moses returns to us." |

এবং তাকে আমি বলে ছিলাম, প্রশস্ত বর্ম তৈরী কর, কড়াসমূহ যথাযথভাবে সংযুক্ত কর এবং সৎকর্ম সম্পাদন কর। তোমরা যা কিছু কর, আমি তা দেখি।
(Commanding), "Make thou coast of mail, balancing well the rings of chain armour, and work ye righteousness; for be sure I see (clearly) all that ye do." |

বলুন, তোমরা যাদেরকে আল্লাহর সাথে অংশীদাররূপে সংযুক্ত করেছ, তাদেরকে এনে আমাকে দেখাও। বরং তিনিই আল্লাহ, পরাক্রমশীল, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
Say: "Show me those whom ye have joined with Him as partners: by no means (can ye). Nay, He is Allah, the Exalted in Power, the Wise." |

দাউদ বললঃ সে তোমার দুম্বাটিকে নিজের দুম্বাগুলোর সাথে সংযুক্ত করার দাবী করে তোমার প্রতি অবিচার করেছে। শরীকদের অনেকেই একে অপরের প্রতি জুলুম করে থাকে। তবে তারা করে না, যারা আল্লাহর প্রতি বিশ্বাসী ও সৎকর্ম সম্পাদনকারী। অবশ্য এমন লোকের সংখ্যা অল্প। দাউদের খেয়াল হল যে, আমি তাকে পরীক্ষা করছি। অতঃপর সে তার পালনকর্তার কাছে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করল, সেজদায় লুটিয়ে পড়ল এবং তাঁর দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করল।
(David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"... and David gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance). |
