তুমি কি তাদেরকে দেখনি, যারা কিতাবের কিছু অংশ প্রাপ্ত হয়েছে, যারা মান্য করে প্রতিমা ও শয়তানকে এবং কাফেরদেরকে বলে যে, এরা মুসলমানদের তুলনায় অধিকতর সরল সঠিক পথে রয়েছে।
Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were given a portion of the Book? they believe in sorcery and Evil, and say to the Unbelievers that they are better guided in the (right) way Than the believers! |

তাদেরকে পথভ্রষ্ট করব, তাদেরকে আশ্বাস দেব; তাদেরকে পশুদের কর্ণ ছেদন করতে বলব এবং তাদেরকে আল্লাহর সৃষ্ট আকৃতি পরিবর্তন করতে আদেশ দেব। যে কেউ আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে শয়তানকে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করে, সে প্রকাশ্য ক্ষতিতে পতিত হয়।
"I will mislead them, and I will create in them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created by Allah." Whoever, forsaking Allah, takes satan for a friend, hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest. |

আর সকল শয়তানকে তার অধীন করে দিলাম অর্থৎ, যারা ছিল প্রাসাদ নির্মাণকারী ও ডুবুরী।
As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,- |

অবশেষে যখন সে আমার কাছে আসবে, তখন সে শয়তানকে বলবে, হায়, আমার ও তোমার মধ্যে যদি পূর্ব-পশ্চিমের দূরত্ব থাকত। কত হীন সঙ্গী সে।
At length, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says (to his evil companion): "Would that between me and thee were the distance of East and West!" Ah! evil is the companion (indeed)! |
