তারা বলল, আপনি প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করুন-তিনি বলে দিন যে, সেটা কিরূপ? কেননা, গরু আমাদের কাছে সাদৃশ্যশীল মনে হয়। ইনশাআল্লাহ এবার আমরা অবশ্যই পথপ্রাপ্ত হব। মূসা (আঃ) বললেন, তিনি বলেন যে, এ গাভী ভূকর্ষণ ও জল সেচনের শ্রমে অভ্যস্ত নয়-হবে নিষ্কলঙ্ক, নিখুঁত।
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills." |

আল্লাহর নেয়ামত ও অনুগ্রহের জন্যে তারা আনন্দ প্রকাশ করে এবং তা এভাবে যে, আল্লাহ, ঈমানদারদের শ্রমফল বিনষ্ট করেন না।
They glory in the Grace and the bounty from Allah, and in the fact that Allah suffereth not the reward of the Faithful to be lost (in the least). |

অতঃপর তাদের পালনকর্তা তাদের দোয়া (এই বলে) কবুল করে নিলেন যে, আমি তোমাদের কোন পরিশ্রমকারীর পরিশ্রমই বিনষ্ট করি না, তা সে পুরুষ হোক কিংবা স্ত্রীলোক। তোমরা পরস্পর এক। তারপর সে সমস্ত লোক যারা হিজরত করেছে, তাদেরকে নিজেদের দেশ থেকে বের করে দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং তাদের প্রতি উৎপীড়ন করা হয়েছে আমার পথে এবং যারা লড়াই করেছে ও মৃত্যুবরণ করেছে, অবশ্যই আমি তাদের উপর থেকে অকল্যাণকে অপসারিত করব। এবং তাদেরকে প্রবিষ্ট করব জান্নাতে যার তলদেশে নহর সমূহ প্রবাহিত। এই হলো বিনিময় আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে। আর আল্লাহর নিকট রয়েছে উত্তম বিনিময়।
And their Lord hath accepted of them, and answered them: "Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female: Ye are members, one of another: Those who have left their homes, or been driven out therefrom, or suffered harm in My Cause, or fought or been slain,- verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath;- A reward from the presence of Allah, and from His presence is the best of rewards." |

আর আহলে কিতাবদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ এমনও রয়েছে, যারা আল্লাহর উপর ঈমান আনে এবং যা কিছু তোমার উপর অবতীর্ণ হয় আর যা কিছু তাদের উপর অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে সেগুলোর উপর, আল্লাহর সামনে বিনয়াবনত থাকে এবং আল্লার আয়াতসমুহকে স্বল্পমুল্যের বিনিময়ে সওদা করে না, তারাই হলো সে লোক যাদের জন্য পারিশ্রমিক রয়েছে তাদের পালনকর্তার নিকট। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ যথাশীঘ্র হিসাব চুকিয়ে দেন।
And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to Allah: They will not sell the Signs of Allah for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and Allah is swift in account. |

আজ তোমাদের জন্য পবিত্র বস্তুসমূহ হালাল করা হল। আহলে কিতাবদের খাদ্য তোমাদের জন্যে হালাল এবং তোমাদের খাদ্য তাদের জন্য হালাল। তোমাদের জন্যে হালাল সতী-সাধ্বী মুসলমান নারী এবং তাদের সতী-সাধ্বী নারী, যাদেরকে কিতাব দেয়া হয়েছে তোমাদের পূর্বে, যখন তোমরা তাদেরকে মোহরানা প্রদান কর তাদেরকে স্ত্রী করার জন্যে, কামবাসনা চরিতার্থ করার জন্যে কিংবা গুপ্ত প্রেমে লিপ্ত হওয়ার জন্যে নয়। যে ব্যক্তি বিশ্বাসের বিষয় অবিশ্বাস করে, তার শ্রম বিফলে যাবে এবং পরকালে সে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হবে।
This day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book, revealed before your time,- when ye give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues if any one rejects faith, fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good). |

এরা এমন ছিল, যাদেরকে আল্লাহ পথ প্রদর্শন করেছিলেন। অতএব, আপনিও তাদের পথ অনুসরণ করুন। আপনি বলে দিনঃ আমি তোমাদের কাছে এর জন্যে কোন পারিশ্রমিক চাই না। এটি সারা বিশ্বের জন্যে একটি উপদেশমাত্র।
Those were the (prophets) who received Allah's guidance: Copy the guidance they received; Say: "No reward for this do I ask of you: This is no less than a message for the nations." |

আয়াতঃ ৯০) |

বস্তুতঃ যাদুকররা এসে ফেরাউনের কাছে উপস্থিত হল। তারা বলল, আমাদের জন্যে কি কোন পারিশ্রমিক নির্ধারিত আছে, যদি আমরা জয়লাভ করি?
So there came the sorcerers to Pharaoh: They said, "of course we shall have a (suitable) reward if we win!" |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ১১৩) |

সে সমস্ত লোক যারা ভৎর্সনা-বিদ্রূপ করে সেসব মুসলমানদের প্রতি যারা মন খুলে দান-খয়রাত করে এবং তাদের প্রতি যাদের কিছুই নেই শুধুমাত্র নিজের পরিশ্রমলব্দ বস্তু ছাড়া। অতঃপর তাদের প্রতি ঠাট্টা করে। আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি ঠাট্টা করেছেন এবং তাদের জন্য রয়েছে বেদনাদায়ক আযাব।
Those who slander such of the believers as give themselves freely to (deeds of) charity, as well as such as can find nothing to give except the fruits of their labour,- and throw ridicule on them,- Allah will throw back their ridicule on them: and they shall have a grievous penalty. |

আর হে আমার জাতি! আমি তো এজন্য তোমাদের কাছে কোন অর্থ চাই না; আমার পারিশ্রমিক তো আল্লাহর জিম্মায় রয়েছে। আমি কিন্তু ঈমানদারদের তাড়িয়ে দিতে পারি না। তারা অবশ্যই তাদের পালনকর্তার সাক্ষাত লাভ করবে। বরঞ্চ তোমাদেরই আমি অজ্ঞ সম্প্রদায় দেখছি।
"And O my people! I ask you for no wealth in return: my reward is from none but Allah: But I will not drive away (in contempt) those who believe: for verily they are to meet their Lord, and ye I see are the ignorant ones! |

তোমরা ঐ মহিলার মত হয়ো না, যে পরিশ্রমের পর কাটা সূতা টুকরো টুকরো করে ছিড়ে ফেলে, তোমরা নিজেদের কসমসমূহকে পারস্পরিক প্রবঞ্চনার বাহানা রূপে গ্রহণ কর এজন্যে যে, অন্য দল অপেক্ষা এক দল অধিক ক্ষমতাবান হয়ে যায়। এতদ্বারা তো আল্লাহ শুধু তোমাদের পরীক্ষা করেন। আল্লাহ অবশ্যই কিয়ামতের দিন প্রকাশ করে দেবেন, যে বিষয়ে তোমরা কলহ করতে।
And be not like a woman who breaks into untwisted strands the yarn which she has spun, after it has become strong. Nor take your oaths to practise deception between yourselves, lest one party should be more numerous than another: for Allah will test you by this; and on the Day of Judgment He will certainly make clear to you (the truth of) that wherein ye disagree. |

অতঃপর তারা চলতে লাগল, অবশেষে যখন একটি জনপদের অধিবাসীদের কাছে পৌছে তাদের কাছে খাবার চাইল, তখন তারা তাদের অতিথেয়তা করতে অস্বীকার করল। অতঃপর তারা সেখানে একটি পতনোম্মুখ প্রাচীর দেখতে পেলেন, সেটি তিনি সোজা করে দাঁড় করিয়ে দিলেন। মূসা বললেনঃ আপনি ইচ্ছা করলে তাদের কাছ থেকে এর পারিশ্রমিক আদায় করতে পারতেন।
Then they proceeded: until, when they came to the inhabitants of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused them hospitality. They found there a wall on the point of falling down, but he set it up straight. (Moses) said: "If thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have exacted some recompense for it!" |

তিনি বললেনঃ আমার পালনকর্তা আমাকে যে সামর্থ?2470;িয়েছেন, তাই যথেষ্ট। অতএব, তোমরা আমাকে শ্রম দিয়ে সাহায্য কর। আমি তোমাদের ও তাদের মধ্যে একটি সুদৃঢ় প্রাচীর নির্মাণ করে দেব।
He said: "(The power) in which my Lord has established me is better (than tribute): Help me therefore with strength (and labour): I will erect a strong barrier between you and them: |

তোমরা আল্লাহর জন্যে শ্রম স্বীকার কর যেভাবে শ্রম স্বীকার করা উচিত। তিনি তোমাদেরকে পছন্দ করেছেন এবং ধর্মের ব্যাপারে তোমাদের উপর কোন সংকীর্ণতা রাখেননি। তোমরা তোমাদের পিতা ইব্রাহীমের ধর্মে কায়েম থাক। তিনিই তোমাদের নাম মুসলমান রেখেছেন পূর্বেও এবং এই কোরআনেও, যাতে রসূল তোমাদের জন্যে সাক্ষ্যদাতা এবং তোমরা সাক্ষ্যদাতা হও মানবমন্ডলির জন্যে। সুতরাং তোমরা নামায কায়েম কর, যাকাত দাও এবং আল্লাহকে শক্তভাবে ধারণ কর। তিনিই তোমাদের মালিক। অতএব তিনি কত উত্তম মালিক এবং কত উত্তম সাহায্যকারী।
And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive, (with sincerity and under discipline). He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the cult of your father Abraham. It is He Who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation); that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and ye be witnesses for mankind! So establish regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah! He is your Protector - the Best to protect and the Best to help! |

| 14 |
বলুন, আমি তোমাদের কাছে কোন পারিশ্রমিক চাই না বরং তা তোমরাই রাখ। আমার পুরস্কার তো আল্লাহর কাছে রয়েছে। প্রত্যেক বস্তুই তাঁর সামনে।
Say: "No reward do I ask of you: it is (all) in your interest: my reward is only due from Allah: And He is witness to all things." |
(সাবা:
আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |
| 15 |
এমন সাফল্যের জন্যে পরিশ্রমীদের পরিশ্রম করা উচিত।
For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ৬১) |
| 16 |
না আপনি তাদের কাছে পারিশ্রমিক চান যে, তাদের উপর জরিমানার বোঝা চেপে বসে?
Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- |

আয়াতঃ ৪০) |
| 17 |
তোমরা তোমাদের সামর্থ?2437;নুযায়ী যেরূপ গৃহে বাস কর, তাদেরকেও বসবাসের জন্যে সেরূপ গৃহ দাও। তাদেরকে কষ্ট দিয়ে সংকটাপন্ন করো না। যদি তারা গর্ভবতী হয়, তবে সন্তানপ্রসব পর্যন্ত তাদের ব্যয়ভার বহন করবে। যদি তারা তোমাদের সন্তানদেরকে স্তন্যদান করে, তবে তাদেরকে প্রাপ্য পারিশ্রমিক দেবে এবং এ সম্পর্কে পরস্পর সংযতভাবে পরামর্শ করবে। তোমরা যদি পরস্পর জেদ কর, তবে অন্য নারী স্তন্যদান করবে।
Let the women live (in 'iddat) in the same style as ye live, according to your means: Annoy them not, so as to restrict them. And if they carry (life in their wombs), then spend (your substance) on them until they deliver their burden: and if they suckle your (offspring), give them their recompense: and take mutual counsel together, according to what is just and reasonable. And if ye find yourselves in difficulties, let another woman suckle (the child) on the (father's) behalf. |

আপনি কি তাদের কাছে পারিশ্রমিক চান? ফলে তাদের উপর জরিমানার বোঝা পড়ছে?
Or is it that thou dost ask them for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- |

নিশ্চয় আমি মানুষকে শ্রমনির্ভররূপে সৃষ্টি করেছি।
Verily We have created man into toil and struggle. |

অতএব, যখন অবসর পান পরিশ্রম করুন।
Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard, |
