আর বানিয়ে নিল মূসার সম্প্রদায় তার অনুপস্থিতিতে নিজেদের অলংকারাদির দ্বারা একটি বাছুর তা থেকে বেরুচ্ছিল ‘হাম্বা হাম্বা’ শব্দ। তারা কি একথাও লক্ষ্য করল না যে, সেটি তাদের সাথে কথাও বলছে না এবং তাদেরকে কোন পথও বাতলে দিচ্ছে না! তারা সেটিকে উপাস্য বানিয়ে নিল। বস্তুতঃ তারা ছিল জালেম।
The people of Moses made, in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of calf, (for worship): it seemed to low: did they not see that it could neither speak to them, nor show them the way? They took it for worship and they did wrong. |

অনন্তর জালেমরা এতে অন্য শব্দ বদলে দিল তার পরিবর্তে, যা তাদেরকে বলা হয়েছিল। সুতরাং আমি তাদের উপর আযাব পাঠিয়েছি আসমান থেকে তাদের অপকর্মের কারণে।
But the transgressors among them changed the word from that which had been given them so we sent on them a plague from heaven. For that they repeatedly transgressed. |

তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ গোপনে কথা বলুক বা তা সশব্দে প্রকাশ করুক, রাতের অন্ধকারে সে আত্নগোপন করুক বা প্রকাশ্য দিবালোকে বিচরণ করুক, সবাই তাঁর নিকট সমান।
It is the same (to Him) whether any of you conceal his speech or declare it openly; whether he lie hid by night or walk forth freely by day. |

অতঃপর সুর্যোদয়ের সময় তাদেরকে প্রচন্ড একটি শব্দ এসে পাকড়াও করল।
But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, |

অতঃপর এক প্রত্যুষে তাদের উপর একটা শব্দ এসে আঘাত করল।
But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, |

তোমার পালনকর্তা আদেশ করেছেন যে, তাঁকে ছাড়া অন্য কারও এবাদত করো না এবং পিতা-মাতার সাথে সদ্ব-ব্যবহার কর। তাদের মধ্যে কেউ অথবা উভয়েই যদি তোমার জীবদ্দশায় বার্ধক্যে উপনীত হয়; তবে তাদেরকে ‘উহ’ শব্দটিও বলো না এবং তাদেরকে ধমক দিও না এবং বল তাদেরকে শিষ্ঠাচারপূর্ণ কথা।
Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour. |

বলুনঃ আল্লাহ বলে আহবান কর কিংবা রহমান বলে, যে নামেই আহবান কর না কেন, সব সুন্দর নাম তাঁরই। আপনি নিজের নামায আদায়কালে স্বর উচ্চগ্রাসে নিয়ে গিয়ে পড়বেন না এবং নিঃশব্দেও পড়বেন না। এতদুভয়ের মধ্যমপন্থা অবলম্বন করুন।
Say: "Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Neither speak thy Prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between." |

অতঃপর সে তাদের জন্য তৈরী করে বের করল একটি গো-বৎস, একটা দেহ, যার মধ্যে গরুর শব্দ ছিল। তারা বললঃ এটা তোমাদের উপাস্য এবং মূসার ও উপাস্য, অতঃপর মূসা ভুলে গেছে।
"Then he brought out (of the fire) before the (people) the image of a calf: It seemed to low: so they said: This is your god, and the god of Moses, but (Moses) has forgotten!" |

আয়াতঃ ৮৮) |

সেই দিন তারা আহবানকারীর অনুসরণ করবে, যার কথা এদিক-সেদিক হবে না এবং দয়াময় আল্লাহর ভয়ে সব শব্দ ক্ষীণ হয়ে যাবে। সুতরাং মৃদু গুঞ্জন ব্যতীত তুমি কিছুই শুনবে না।
On that Day will they follow the Caller (straight): no crookedness (can they show) him: all sounds shall humble themselves in the Presence of (Allah) Most Gracious: nothing shalt thou hear but the tramp of their feet (as they march). |

তারা তার ক্ষীণতম শব্দও শুনবে না এবং তারা তাদের মনের বাসনা অনুযায়ী চিরকাল বসবাস করবে।
Not the slightest sound will they hear of Hell: what their souls desired, in that will they dwell. |

তিনি জানেন, যে কথা সশব্দে বল এবং যে কথা তোমরা গোপন কর।
"It is He Who knows what is open in speech and what ye hide (in your hearts). |

অতঃপর সত্য সত্যই এক ভয়ংকর শব্দ তাদেরকে হতচকিত করল এবং আমি তাদেরকে বাত্যা-তাড়িত আবর্জনা সদৃশ করে দিলাম। অতঃপর ধ্বংস হোক পাপী সম্প্রদায়।
Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! |

তারা কেবল একটা ভয়াবহ শব্দের অপেক্ষা করছে, যা তাদেরকে আঘাত করবে তাদের পারস্পরিক বাকবিতন্ডাকালে।
They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves! |

বস্তুতঃ সে উত্থান হবে একটি বিকট শব্দ মাত্র-যখন তারা প্রত্যক্ষ করতে থাকবে।
Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! |
