আর নিজেদের শপথের জন্য আল্লাহর নামকে লক্ষ্যবস্তু বানিও না মানুষের সাথে কোন আচার আচরণ থেকে পরহেযগারী থেকে এবং মানুষের মাঝে মীমাংসা করে দেয়া থেকে বেঁচে থাকার উদ্দেশ্যে। আল্লাহ সবকিছুই শুনেন ও জানেন।
And make not Allah's (name) an excuse in your oaths against doing good, or acting rightly, or making peace between persons; for Allah is One Who heareth and knoweth all things. |

তোমাদের নিরর্থক শপথের জন্য আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে ধরবেন না, কিন্তু সেসব কসমের ব্যাপারে ধরবেন, তোমাদের মন যার প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছে। আর আল্লাহ হচ্ছেন ক্ষমাকারী ধৈর্য্যশীল।
Allah will not call you to account for thoughtlessness in your oaths, but for the intention in your hearts; and He is Oft-forgiving, Most Forbearing. |

আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে পাকড়াও করেন না তোমাদের অনর্থক শপথের জন্যে; কিন্তু পাকড়াও করেন ঐ শপথের জন্যে যা তোমরা মজবুত করে বাধ। অতএব, এর কাফফরা এই যে, দশজন দরিদ্রকে খাদ্য প্রদান করবে; মধ্যম শ্রেনীর খাদ্য যা তোমরা স্বীয় পরিবারকে দিয়ে থাক। অথবা, তাদেরকে বস্তু প্রদান করবে অথবা, একজন ক্রীতদাস কিংবা দাসী মুক্ত করে দিবে। যে ব্যক্তি সামর্থ্য রাখে না, সে তিন দিন রোযা রাখবে। এটা কাফফরা তোমাদের শপথের, যখন শপথ করবে। তোমরা স্বীয় শপথসমূহ রক্ষা কর এমনিভাবে আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্য স্বীয় নির্দেশ বর্ণনা করেন, যাতে তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা স্বীকার কর।
Allah will not call you to account for what is futile in your oaths, but He will call you to account for your deliberate oaths: for expiation, feed ten indigent persons, on a scale of the average for the food of your families; or clothe them; or give a slave his freedom. If that is beyond your means, fast for three days. That is the expiation for the oaths ye have sworn. But keep to your oaths. Thus doth Allah make clear to you His signs, that ye may be grateful. |

আর যদি ভঙ্গ করে তারা তাদের শপথ প্রতিশ্রুতির পর এবং বিদ্রুপ করে তোমাদের দ্বীন সম্পর্কে, তবে কুফর প্রধানদের সাথে যুদ্ধ কর। কারণ, এদের কেন শপথ নেই যাতে তারা ফিরে আসে।
But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and taunt you for your Faith,- fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: for their oaths are nothing to them: that thus they may be restrained. |

তোমরা কি সেই দলের সাথে যুদ্ধ করবে না; যারা ভঙ্গ করেছে নিজেদের শপথ এবং সঙ্কল্প নিয়েছে রসূলকে বহিস্কারের? আর এরাই প্রথম তোমাদের সাথে বিবাদের সূত্রপাত করেছে। তোমরা কি তাদের ভয় কর? অথচ তোমাদের ভয়ের অধিকতর যোগ্য হলেন আল্লাহ, যদি তোমরা মুমিন হও।
Will ye not fight people who violated their oaths, plotted to expel the Messenger, and took the aggressive by being the first (to assault) you? Do ye fear them? Nay, it is Allah Whom ye should more justly fear, if ye believe! |

যদি আশু লাভের সম্ভাবনা থাকতো এবং যাত্রাপথও সংক্ষিপ্ত হতো, তবে তারা অবশ্যই আপনার সহযাত্রী হতো, কিন্তু তাদের নিকট যাত্রাপথ সুদীর্ঘ মনে হল। আর তারা এমনই শপথ করে বলবে, আমাদের সাধ্য থাকলে অবশ্যই তোমাদের সাথে বের হতাম, এরা নিজেরাই নিজেদের বিনষ্ট করছে, আর আল্লাহ জানেন যে, এরা মিথ্যাবাদী।
If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them. They would indeed swear by Allah, "If we only could, we should certainly have come out with you": They would destroy their own souls; for Allah doth know that they are certainly lying. |

আর যারা নির্মাণ করেছে মসজিদ জিদের বশে এবং কুফরীর তাড়নায় মুমিনদের মধ্যে বিভেদ সৃস্টির উদ্দেশ্যে এবং ঐ লোকের জন্য ঘাটি স্বরূপ যে পূর্ব থেকে আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূলের সাথে যুদ্ধ করে আসছে, আর তারা অবশ্যই শপথ করবে যে, আমরা কেবল কল্যাণই চেয়েছি। পক্ষান্তরে আল্লাহ সাক্ষী যে, তারা সবাই মিথ্যুক।
And there are those who put up a mosque by way of mischief and infidelity - to disunite the Believers - and in preparation for one who warred against Allah and His Messenger aforetime. They will indeed swear that their intention is nothing but good; But Allah doth declare that they are certainly liars. |

তারা আল্লাহর নামে কঠোর শপথ করে যে, যার মৃত্যু হয় আল্লাহ তাকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করবেন না। অবশ্যই এর পাকাপোক্ত ওয়াদা হয়ে গেছে। কিন্তু, অধিকাংশ লোক জানে না।
They swear their strongest oaths by Allah, that Allah will not raise up those who die: Nay, but it is a promise (binding) on Him in truth: but most among mankind realise it not. |

আয়াতঃ ৩৮) |

তারা বলল, তোমরা পরস্পরে আল্লাহর নামে শপথ গ্রহণ কর যে, আমরা রাত্রিকালে তাকে ও তার পরিবারবর্গকে হত্যা করব। অতঃপর তার দাবীদারকে বলে দেব যে, তার পরিবারবর্গের হত্যাকান্ড আমরা প্রত্যক্ষ করিনি। আমরা নিশ্চয়ই সত্যবাদী।
They said: "Swear a mutual oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his people, and that we shall then say to his heir (when he seeks vengeance): 'We were not present at the slaughter of his people, and we are positively telling the truth.'" |

কাফেররা বলে আমাদের উপর কেয়ামত আসবে না। বলুন কেন আসবে না? আমার পালনকর্তার শপথ-অবশ্যই আসবে। তিনি অদৃশ্য সম্পর্কে জ্ঞাত। নভোমন্ডলে ও ভূ-মন্ডলে তাঁর আগোচরে নয় অণু পরিমাণ কিছু, না তদপেক্ষা ক্ষুদ্র এবং না বৃহৎ-সমস্তই আছে সুস্পষ্ট কিতাবে।
The Unbelievers say, "Never to us will come the Hour": Say, "Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you;- by Him Who knows the unseen,- from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the Record Perspicuous: |

তারা জোর শপথ করে বলত, তাদের কাছে কোন সতর্ককারী আগমন করলে তারা অন্য যে কোন সম্প্রদায় অপেক্ষা অধিকতর সৎপথে চলবে। অতঃপর যখন তাদের কাছে সতর্ককারী আগমন করল, তখন তাদের ঘৃণাই কেবল বেড়ে গেল।
They swore their strongest oaths by Allah that if a warner came to them, they would follow his guidance better than any (other) of the Peoples: But when a warner came to them, it has only increased their flight (from righteousness),- |

শপথ তাদের যারা সারিবদ্ধ হয়ে দাঁড়ানো,
By those who range themselves in ranks, |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 13 |
ছোয়াদ। শপথ উপদেশপূর্ণ কোরআনের,
Sad: By the Qur'an, Full of Admonition: (This is the Truth). |

আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 14 |
তুমি তোমার হাতে এক মুঠো তৃণশলা নাও, তদ্বারা আঘাত কর এবং শপথ ভঙ্গ করো না। আমি তাকে পেলাম সবরকারী। চমৎকার বান্দা সে। নিশ্চয় সে ছিল প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
"And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! |

By the Book that makes things clear,- |

যেদিন কাফেরদেরকে জাহান্নামের সামনে পেশ করা হবে, সেদিন বলা হবে, এটা কি সত্য নয়? তারা বলবে, হঁ্যা আমাদের পালনকর্তার শপথ। আল্লাহ বলবেন, আযাব আস্বাদন কর। কারণ, তোমরা কুফরী করতে।
And on the Day that the Unbelievers will be placed before the Fire, (they will be asked,) "Is this not the Truth?" they will say, "Yea, by our Lord!" (One will say:) "Then taste ye the Penalty, for that ye were wont to deny (Truth)!" |

যারা আপনার কাছে আনুগত্যের শপথ করে, তারা তো আল্লাহর কাছে আনুগত্যের শপথ করে। আল্লাহর হাত তাদের হাতের উপর রয়েছে। অতএব, যে শপথ ভঙ্গ করে; অতি অবশ্যই সে তা নিজের ক্ষতির জন্যেই করে এবং যে আল্লাহর সাথে কৃত অঙ্গীকার পূর্ণ করে; আল্লাহ সত্ত্বরই তাকে মহাপুরস্কার দান করবেন।
Verily those who plight their fealty to thee do no less than plight their fealty to Allah: the Hand of Allah is over their hands: then any one who violates his oath, does so to the harm of his own soul, and any one who fulfils what he has covenanted with Allah,- Allah will soon grant him a great Reward. |

আল্লাহ মুমিনদের প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট হলেন, যখন তারা বৃক্ষের নীচে আপনার কাছে শপথ করল। আল্লাহ অবগত ছিলেন যা তাদের অন্তরে ছিল। অতঃপর তিনি তাদের প্রতি প্রশান্তি নাযিল করলেন এবং তাদেরকে আসন্ন বিজয় পুরস্কার দিলেন।
Allah's Good Pleasure was on the Believers when they swore Fealty to thee under the Tree: He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down Tranquillity to them; and He rewarded them with a speedy Victory; |

ক্বাফ! সম্মানিত কোরআনের শপথ;
Qaf: By the Glorious Qur'an (Thou art Allah's Messenger). |

অতএব, আমি তারকারাজির অস্তাচলের শপথ করছি,
Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,- |

নিশ্চয় এটা এক মহা শপথ-যদি তোমরা জানতে।
And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,- |

আপনি কি তাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য করেননি, যারা আল্লাহর গযবে নিপতিত সম্প্রদায়ের সাথে বন্ধুত্ব করে? তারা মুসলমানদের দলভুক্ত নয় এবং তাদেরও দলভূক্ত নয়। তারা জেনেশুনে মিথ্যা বিষয়ে শপথ করে।
Turnest thou not thy attention to those who turn (in friendship) to such as have the Wrath of Allah upon them? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to falsehood knowingly. |

তারা তাদের শপথকে ঢাল করে রেখেছেন, অতঃপর তারা আল্লাহর পথ থেকে মানুষকে বাধা প্রদান করে। অতএব, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে অপমানজনক শাস্তি।
They have made their oaths a screen (for their misdeeds): thus they obstruct (men) from the Path of Allah: therefore shall they have a humiliating Penalty. |

আয়াতঃ ১৬) |
| 25 |
যেদিন আল্লাহ তাদের সকলকে পুনরুত্থিত করবেন। অতঃপর তারা আল্লাহর সামনে শপথ করবে, যেমন তোমাদের সামনে শপথ করে। তারা মনে করবে যে, তারা কিছু সৎপথে আছে। সাবধান, তারাই তো আসল মিথ্যাবাদী।
One day will Allah raise them all up (for Judgment): then will they swear to Him as they swear to you: And they think that they have something (to stand upon). No, indeed! they are but liars! |
(আল মুজাদালাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১৮) |
| 26 |
হে নবী, ঈমানদার নারীরা যখন আপনার কাছে এসে আনুগত্যের শপথ করে যে, তারা আল্লাহর সাথে কাউকে শরীক করবে না, চুরি করবে না, ব্যভিচার করবে না, তাদের সন্তানদেরকে হত্যা করবে না, জারজ সন্তানকে স্বামীর ঔরস থেকে আপন গর্ভজাত সন্তান বলে মিথ্যা দাবী করবে না এবং ভাল কাজে আপনার অবাধ্যতা করবে না, তখন তাদের আনুগত্য গ্রহণ করুন এবং তাদের জন্যে আল্লাহর কাছে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করুন। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ ক্ষমাশীল অত্যন্ত দয়ালু।
O Prophet! When believing women come to thee to take the oath of fealty to thee, that they will not associate in worship any other thing whatever with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit adultery (or fornication), that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging falsehood, and that they will not disobey thee in any just matter,- then do thou receive their fealty, and pray to Allah for the forgiveness (of their sins): for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. |

| 27 |
তারা তাদের শপথসমূহকে ঢালরূপে ব্যবহার করে। অতঃপর তারা আল্লাহর পথে বাধা সৃষ্টি করে। তারা যা করছে, তা খুবই মন্দ।
They have made their oaths a screen (for their misdeeds): thus they obstruct (men) from the Path of Allah: truly evil are their deeds. |

নূন। শপথ কলমের এবং সেই বিষয়ের যা তারা লিপিবদ্ধ করে,
Nun. By the Pen and the (Record) which (men) write,- |

যে অধিক শপথ করে, যে লাঞ্ছিত, আপনি তার আনুগত্য করবেন না।
Heed not the type of despicable men,- ready with oaths, |

আমি তাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করেছি, যেমন পরীক্ষা করেছি উদ্যানওয়ালাদের, যখন তারা শপথ করেছিল যে, সকালে বাগানের ফল আহরণ করবে,
Verily We have tried them as We tried the People of the Garden, when they resolved to gather the fruits of the (garden) in the morning. |

না তোমরা আমার কাছ থেকেকেয়ামত পর্যন্ত বলবৎ কোন শপথ নিয়েছ যে, তোমরা তাই পাবে যা তোমরা সিদ্ধান্ত করবে?
Or have ye Covenants with Us to oath, reaching to the Day of Judgment, (providing) that ye shall have whatever ye shall demand? |

তোমরা যা দেখ, আমি তার শপথ করছি।
So I do call to witness what ye see, |

আয়াতঃ ৩৮) |

আমি শপথ করছি উদয়াচল ও অস্তাচলসমূহের পালনকর্তার, নিশ্চয়ই আমি সক্ষম!
Now I do call to witness the Lord of all points in the East and the West that We can certainly- |

কখনই নয়। চন্দ্রের শপথ,
Nay, verily: By the Moon, |

শপথ রাত্রির যখন তার অবসান হয়,
And by the Night as it retreateth, |
(আল মুদ্দাসসির:
আয়াতঃ ৩৩) |
| 36 |
শপথ প্রভাতকালের যখন তা আলোকোদ্ভাসিত হয়,
And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- |
(আল মুদ্দাসসির:
আয়াতঃ ৩৪) |
| 37 |
আমি শপথ করি কেয়ামত দিবসের,
I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; |
(আল ক্বেয়ামাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 38 |
আরও শপথ করি সেই মনের, যে নিজেকে ধিক্কার দেয়-
And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). |

কল্যাণের জন্যে প্রেরিত বায়ুর শপথ,
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); |
(আল মুরসালাত:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 40 |
সজোরে প্রবাহিত ঝটিকার শপথ,
Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, |
(আল মুরসালাত:
আয়াতঃ ২) |
| 41 |
মেঘবিস্তৃতকারী বায়ুর শপথ
And scatter (things) far and wide; |
(আল মুরসালাত:
আয়াতঃ ৩) |
| 42 |
মেঘপুঞ্জ বিতরণকারী বায়ুর শপথ এবং
Then separate them, one from another, |
(আল মুরসালাত:
আয়াতঃ ৪) |
| 43 |
ওহী নিয়ে অবতরণকারী ফেরেশতাগণের শপথ-
Then spread abroad a Message, |
(আল মুরসালাত:
আয়াতঃ ৫) |
| 44 |
শপথ সেই ফেরেশতাগণের, যারা ডুব দিয়ে আত্মা উৎপাটন করে,
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; |
(আন-নযিআ'ত:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 45 |
শপথ তাদের, যারা আত্মার বাঁধন খুলে দেয় মৃদুভাবে;
By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); |
(আন-নযিআ'ত:
আয়াতঃ ২) |
| 46 |
শপথ তাদের, যারা সন্তরণ করে দ্রুতগতিতে,
And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), |
(আন-নযিআ'ত:
আয়াতঃ ৩) |

শপথ তাদের, যারা দ্রুতগতিতে অগ্রসর হয় এবং
Then press forward as in a race, |
(আন-নযিআ'ত:
আয়াতঃ ৪) |

শপথ তাদের, যারা সকল কর্মনির্বাহ করে, কেয়ামত অবশ্যই হবে।
Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), |
(আন-নযিআ'ত:

আমি শপথ করি যেসব নক্ষত্রগুলো পশ্চাতে সরে যায়।
So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, |
(আত-তাকভীর:
আয়াতঃ ১৫) |

শপথ নিশাবসান ও
And the Night as it dissipates; |
(আত-তাকভীর:
আয়াতঃ ১৭) |
| 51 |
আমি শপথ করি সন্ধ্যাকালীন লাল আভার
So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; |
(আল ইনশিক্বাক্ব:
আয়াতঃ ১৬) |
| 52 |
শপথ গ্রহ-নক্ষত্র শোভিত আকাশের,
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; |
(আল বুরূজ:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 53 |
শপথ আকাশের এবং রাত্রিতে আগমনকারীর।
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- |
(আত্ব-তারিক্ব:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 54 |
শপথ চক্রশীল আকাশের
By the Firmament which returns (in its round), |
(আত্ব-তারিক্ব:
আয়াতঃ ১১) |
| 55 |
শপথ ফজরের,
By the break of Day |
(আল ফজর:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 56 |
শপথ দশ রাত্রির, শপথ তার,
By the Nights twice five; |
(আল ফজর:
আয়াতঃ ২) |
| 57 |
এবং শপথ রাত্রির যখন তা গত হতে থাকে
And by the Night when it passeth away;- |
(আল ফজর:
আয়াতঃ ৪) |
| 58 |
এর মধ্যে আছে শপথ জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তির জন্যে।
Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand? |

| 59 |
আমি এই নগরীর শপথ করি
I do call to witness this City;- |
(আল বালাদ:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 60 |
শপথ জনকের ও যা জন্ম দেয়।
And (the mystic ties of) parent and child;- |
(আল বালাদ:
আয়াতঃ ৩) |
| 61 |
শপথ সূর্যের ও তার কিরণের,
By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour; |
(আশ-শামস:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 62 |
শপথ চন্দ্রের যখন তা সূর্যের পশ্চাতে আসে,
By the Moon as she follows him; |
(আশ-শামস:
আয়াতঃ ২) |
| 63 |
শপথ দিবসের যখন সে সূর্যকে প্রখরভাবে প্রকাশ করে,
By the Day as it shows up (the Sun's) glory; |
(আশ-শামস:
আয়াতঃ ৩) |
| 64 |
শপথ রাত্রির যখন সে সূর্যকে আচ্ছাদিত করে,
By the Night as it conceals it; |
(আশ-শামস:
আয়াতঃ ৪) |
| 65 |
শপথ আকাশের এবং যিনি তা নির্মাণ করেছেন, তাঁর।
By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; |
(আশ-শামস:
আয়াতঃ ৫) |
| 66 |
শপথ পৃথিবীর এবং যিনি তা বিস্তৃত করেছেন, তাঁর,
By the Earth and its (wide) expanse: |
(আশ-শামস:
আয়াতঃ ৬) |
| 67 |
শপথ প্রাণের এবং যিনি তা সুবিন্যস্ত করেছেন, তাঁর,
By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; |
(আশ-শামস:
আয়াতঃ ৭) |

শপথ রাত্রির, যখন সে আচ্ছন্ন করে,
By the Night as it conceals (the light); |
