এরাই পরকালের বিনিময়ে পার্থিব জীবন ক্রয় করেছে। অতএব এদের শাস্তি লঘু হবে না এবং এরা সাহায্যও পাবে না।
These are the people who buy the life of this world at the price of the Hereafter: their penalty shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped. |

যখন জালেমরা আযাব প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, তখন তাদের থেকে তা লঘু করা হবে না এবং তাদেরকে কোন অবকাশ দেয়া হবে না।
When the wrong-doers (actually) see the Penalty, then will it in no way be mitigated, nor will they then receive respite. |

গুরু শাস্তির পূর্বে আমি অবশ্যই তাদেরকে লঘু শাস্তি আস্বাদন করাব, যাতে তারা প্রত্যাবর্তন করে।
And indeed We will make them taste of the Penalty of this (life) prior to the supreme Penalty, in order that they may (repent and) return. |
