নিশ্চয়ই দুটো দলের মোকাবিলার মধ্যে তোমাদের জন্য নিদর্শন ছিল। একটি দল আল্লাহর রাহে যুদ্ধ করে। আর অপর দল ছিল কাফেরদের এরা স্বচক্ষে তাদেরকে দ্বিগুন দেখছিল। আর আল্লাহ যাকে নিজের সাহায্যের মাধ্যমে শক্তি দান করেন। এরই মধ্যে শিক্ষনীয় রয়েছে দৃষ্টি সম্পন্নদের জন্য।
"There has already been for you a Sign in the two armies that met (in combat): One was fighting in the cause of Allah, the other resisting Allah; these saw with their own eyes Twice their number. But Allah doth support with His aid whom He pleaseth. In this is a warning for such as have eyes to see." |

আর যেদিন দু’দল সৈন্যের মোকাবিলা হয়েছে; সেদিন তোমাদের উপর যা আপতিত হয়েছে তা আল্লাহর হুকুমেই হয়েছে এবং তা এজন্য যে, তাতে ঈমানদারদিগকে জানা যায়।
What ye suffered on the day the two armies Met, was with the leave of Allah, in order that He might test the believers,- |

তখন আমি অবশ্যই আপনাকে ইহজীবনে ও পরজীবনে দ্বিগুণ শাস্তির আস্বাদন করাতাম। এ সময় আপনি আমার মোকাবিলায় কোন সাহায্যকারী পেতেন না।
In that case We should have made thee taste an equal portion (of punishment) in this life, and an equal portion in death: and moreover thou wouldst have found none to help thee against Us! |

আমি ইচ্ছা করলে আপনার কাছে ওহীর মাধমে যা প্রেরণ করেছি তা অবশ্যই প্রত্যাহার করতে পারতাম। অতঃপর আপনি নিজের জন্যে তা আনয়নের ব্যাপারে আমার মোকাবিলায় কোন দায়িত্ব বহনকারী পাবেন না।
If it were Our Will, We could take away that which We have sent thee by inspiration: then wouldst thou find none to plead thy affair in that matter as against Us,- |
