তোমার কাছে জিজ্ঞেস করে, কি তারা ব্যয় করবে? বলে দাও-যে বস্তুই তোমরা ব্যয় কর, তা হবে পিতা-মাতার জন্যে, আত্নীয়-আপনজনের জন্যে, এতীম-অনাথদের জন্যে, অসহায়দের জন্যে এবং মুসাফিরদের জন্যে। আর তোমরা যে কোন সৎকাজ করবে, নিঃসন্দেহে তা অত্যন্ত ভালভাবেই আল্লাহর জানা রয়েছে।
They ask thee what they should spend (In charity). Say: Whatever ye spend that is good, is for parents and kindred and orphans and those in want and for wayfarers. And whatever ye do that is good, -Allah knoweth it well. |

আর এ কথাও জেনে রাখ যে, কোন বস্তু-সামগ্রীর মধ্য থেকে যা কিছু তোমরা গনীমত হিসাবে পাবে, তার এক পঞ্চমাংশ হল আল্লাহর জন্য, রসূলের জন্য, তাঁর নিকটাত্নীয়-স্বজনের জন্য এবং এতীম-অসহায় ও মুসাফিরদের জন্য; যদি তোমাদের বিশ্বাস থাকে আল্লাহর উপর এবং সে বিষয়ের উপর যা আমি আমার বান্দার প্রতি অবতীর্ণ করেছি ফয়সালার দিনে, যেদিন সম্মুখীন হয়ে যায় উভয় সেনাদল। আর আল্লাহ সব কিছুর উপরই ক্ষমতাশীল।
And know that out of all the booty that ye may acquire (in war), a fifth share is assigned to Allah,- and to the Messenger, and to near relatives, orphans, the needy, and the wayfarer,- if ye do believe in Allah and in the revelation We sent down to Our servant on the Day of Testing,- the Day of the meeting of the two forces. For Allah hath power over all things. |

যাকাত হল কেবল ফকির, মিসকীন, যাকাত আদায় কারী ও যাদের চিত্ত আকর্ষণ প্রয়োজন তাদে হক এবং তা দাস-মুক্তির জন্যে-ঋণ গ্রস্তদের জন্য, আল্লাহর পথে জেহাদকারীদের জন্যে এবং মুসাফিরদের জন্যে, এই হল আল্লাহর নির্ধারিত বিধান। আল্লাহ সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
Alms are for the poor and the needy, and those employed to administer the (funds); for those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled (to Truth); for those in bondage and in debt; in the cause of Allah; and for the wayfarer: (thus is it) ordained by Allah, and Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom. |

আত্নীয়-স্বজনকে তাদের প্রাপ্য দিন এবং মিসকীন ও মুসাফিরদেরও। এটা তাদের জন্যে উত্তম, যারা আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টি কামনা করে। তারাই সফলকাম।
So give what is due to kindred, the needy, and the wayfarer. That is best for those who seek the Countenance, of Allah, and it is they who will prosper. |

আল্লাহ জনপদবাসীদের কাছ থেকে তাঁর রসূলকে যা দিয়েছেন, তা আল্লাহর, রসূলের, তাঁর আত্নীয়-স্বজনের, ইয়াতীমদের, অভাবগ্রস্তদের এবং মুসাফিরদের জন্যে, যাতে ধনৈশ্বর্য্য কেবল তোমাদের বিত্তশালীদের মধ্যেই পুঞ্জীভূত না হয়। রসূল তোমাদেরকে যা দেন, তা গ্রহণ কর এবং যা নিষেধ করেন, তা থেকে বিরত থাক এবং আল্লাহকে ভয় কর। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ কঠোর শাস্তিদাতা।
What Allah has bestowed on His Messenger (and taken away) from the people of the townships,- belongs to Allah,- to His Messenger and to kindred and orphans, the needy and the wayfarer; In order that it may not (merely) make a circuit between the wealthy among you. So take what the Messenger assigns to you, and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you. And fear Allah; for Allah is strict in Punishment. |
