যারা আল্লাহর নামে কৃত অঙ্গীকার এবং প্রতিজ্ঞা সামান্য মুল্যে বিক্রয় করে, আখেরাতে তাদের কেন অংশ নেই। আর তাদের সাথে কেয়ামতের দিন আল্লাহ কথা বলবেন না। তাদের প্রতি (করুণার) দৃষ্টিও দেবেন না। আর তাদেরকে পরিশুদ্ধও করবেন না। বস্তুতঃ তাদের জন্য রয়েছে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক আযাব।
As for those who sell the faith they owe to Allah and their own plighted word for a small price, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter: Nor will Allah (Deign to) speak to them or look at them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He cleans them (of sin): They shall have a grievous penalty. |

আর আহলে কিতাবদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ এমনও রয়েছে, যারা আল্লাহর উপর ঈমান আনে এবং যা কিছু তোমার উপর অবতীর্ণ হয় আর যা কিছু তাদের উপর অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে সেগুলোর উপর, আল্লাহর সামনে বিনয়াবনত থাকে এবং আল্লার আয়াতসমুহকে স্বল্পমুল্যের বিনিময়ে সওদা করে না, তারাই হলো সে লোক যাদের জন্য পারিশ্রমিক রয়েছে তাদের পালনকর্তার নিকট। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ যথাশীঘ্র হিসাব চুকিয়ে দেন।
And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to Allah: They will not sell the Signs of Allah for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and Allah is swift in account. |

তারা আল্লাহর আয়াত সমূহ নগন্য মুল্যে বিক্রয় করে, অতঃপর লোকদের নিবৃত রাখে তাঁর পথ থেকে, তারা যা করে চলছে, তা অতি নিকৃষ্ট।
The Signs of Allah have they sold for a miserable price, and (many) have they hindered from His way: evil indeed are the deeds they have done. |
