আল্লাহ যার জন্যে ইচ্ছা রুযী প্রশস্ত করেন এবং সংকুচিত করেন। তারা পার্থিব জীবনের প্রতি মুগ্ধ। পার্থিবজীবন পরকালের সামনে অতি সামান্য সম্পদ বৈ নয়।
Allah doth enlarge, or grant by (strict) measure, the sustenance (which He giveth) to whomso He pleaseth. (The wordly) rejoice in the life of this world: But the life of this world is but little comfort in the Hereafter. |

এরপর আপনার জন্যে কোন নারী হালাল নয় এবং তাদের পরিবর্তে অন্য স্ত্রী গ্রহণ করাও হালাল নয় যদিও তাদের রূপলাবণ্য আপনাকে মুগ্ধ করে, তবে দাসীর ব্যাপার ভিন্ন। আল্লাহ সর্ব বিষয়ের উপর সজাগ নজর রাখেন।
It is not lawful for thee (to marry more) women after this, nor to change them for (other) wives, even though their beauty attract thee, except any thy right hand should possess (as handmaidens): and Allah doth watch over all things. |

তখন সে বললঃ আমি তো আমার পরওয়ারদেগারের স্মরণে বিস্মৃত হয়ে সম্পদের মহব্বতে মুগ্ধ হয়ে পড়েছি-এমনকি সূর্য ডুবে গেছে।
And he said, "Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"- until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of night): |
