রমযান মাসই হল সে মাস, যাতে নাযিল করা হয়েছে কোরআন, যা মানুষের জন্য হেদায়েত এবং সত্যপথ যাত্রীদের জন্য সুষ্পষ্ট পথ নির্দেশ আর ন্যায় ও অন্যায়ের মাঝে পার্থক্য বিধানকারী। কাজেই তোমাদের মধ্যে যে লোক এ মাসটি পাবে, সে এ মাসের রোযা রাখবে। আর যে লোক অসুস্থ কিংবা মুসাফির অবস্থায় থাকবে সে অন্য দিনে গণনা পূরণ করবে। আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্য সহজ করতে চান; তোমাদের জন্য জটিলতা কামনা করেন না যাতে তোমরা গণনা পূরণ কর এবং তোমাদের হেদায়েত দান করার দরুন আল্লাহ তা’আলার মহত্ত্ব বর্ণনা কর, যাতে তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা স্বীকার কর।
Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful. |

সম্মানিত মাসই সম্মানিত মাসের বদলা। আর সম্মান রক্ষা করারও বদলা রয়েছে। বস্তুতঃ যারা তোমাদের উপর জবর দস্তি করেছে, তোমরা তাদের উপর জবরদস্তি কর, যেমন জবরদস্তি তারা করেছে তোমাদের উপর। আর তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং জেনে রাখ, যারা পরহেযগার, আল্লাহ তাদের সাথে রয়েছেন।
The prohibited month for the prohibited month,- and so for all things prohibited,- there is the law of equality. If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, Transgress ye likewise against him. But fear Allah, and know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves. |

যারা নিজেদের স্ত্রীদের নিকট গমন করবেনা বলে কসম খেয়ে বসে তাদের জন্য চার মাসের অবকাশ রয়েছে অতঃপর যদি পারস্পরিক মিল-মিশ করে নেয়, তবে আল্লাহ ক্ষামাকারী দয়ালু।
For those who take an oath for abstention from their wives, a waiting for four months is ordained; if then they return, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. |

আর আমি সোলায়মানের অধীন করেছিলাম বায়ুকে, যা সকালে এক মাসের পথ এবং বিকালে এক মাসের পথ অতিক্রম করত। আমি তার জন্যে গলিত তামার এক ঝরণা প্রবাহিত করেছিলাম। কতক জিন তার সামনে কাজ করত তার পালনকর্তার আদেশে। তাদের যে কেউ আমার আদেশ অমান্য করবে, আমি জ্বলন্ত অগ্নির-শাস্তি আস্বাদন করাব।
And to Solomon (We made) the Wind (obedient): Its early morning (stride) was a month's (journey), and its evening (stride) was a month's (journey); and We made a Font of molten brass to flow for him; and there were Jinns that worked in front of him, by the leave of his Lord, and if any of them turned aside from our command, We made him taste of the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. |

When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; |
