ওরা বলে, ইহুদী অথবা খ্রীস্টান ব্যতীত কেউ জান্নাতে যাবে না। এটা ওদের মনের বাসনা। বলে দিন, তোমরা সত্যবাদী হলে, প্রমাণ উপস্থিত কর।
And they say: "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful." |

আর এমন কিছু লোক রযেছে যাদের পার্থিব জীবনের কথাবার্তা তোমাকে চমৎকৃত করবে। আর তারা সাক্ষ্য স্থাপন করে আল্লাহকে নিজের মনের কথার ব্যাপারে। প্রকৃতপক্ষে তারা কঠিন ঝগড়াটে লোক।
There is the type of man whose speech about this world's life May dazzle thee, and he calls Allah to witness about what is in his heart; yet is he the most contentious of enemies. |

বনী-ইসরাঈলদেরকে তাদের নবী আরো বললেন, তালূতের নেতৃত্বের চিহ্ন হলো এই যে, তোমাদের কাছে একটা সিন্দুক আসবে তোমাদের পালকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের মনের সন্তুষ্টির নিমিত্তে। আর তাতে থাকবে মূসা, হারুন এবং তাঁদের সন্তানবর্গের পরিত্যক্ত কিছু সামগ্রী। সিন্দুকটিকে বয়ে আনবে ফেরেশতারা। তোমরা যদি ঈমানদার হয়ে থাক, তাহলে এতে তোমাদের জন্য নিশ্চিতই পরিপূর্ণ নিদর্শন রয়েছে।
And (further) their Prophet said to them: "A Sign of his authority is that there shall come to you the Ark of the covenant, with (an assurance) therein of security from your Lord, and the relics left by the family of Moses and the family of Aaron, carried by angels. In this is a symbol for you if ye indeed have faith." |

যা কিছু আকাশসমূহে রয়েছে এবং যা কিছু যমীনে আছে, সব আল্লাহরই। যদি তোমরা মনের কথা প্রকাশ কর কিংবা গোপন কর, আল্লাহ তোমাদের কাছ থেকে তার হিসাব নেবেন। অতঃপর যাকে ইচ্ছা তিনি ক্ষমা করবেন এবং যাকে ইচ্ছা তিনি শাস্তি দেবেন। আল্লাহ সর্ববিষয়ে শক্তিমান।
To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. Whether ye show what is in your minds or conceal it, Allah Calleth you to account for it. He forgiveth whom He pleaseth, and punisheth whom He pleaseth, for Allah hath power over all things. |
(আল বাকারা:
আয়াতঃ ২৮৪) |

বলে দিন, তোমরা যদি মনের কথা গোপন করে রাখ অথবা প্রকাশ করে দাও, আল্লাহ সে সবই জানতে পারেন। আর আসমান ও জমিনে যা কিছু আছে, সেসব ও তিনি জানেন। আল্লাহ সর্ব বিষয়ে শক্তিমান।
Say: "Whether ye hide what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah knows it all: He knows what is in the heavens, and what is on earth. And Allah has power over all things. |
(আল ইমরান:
আয়াতঃ ২৯) |

দেখ! তোমরাই তাদের ভালবাস, কিন্তু তারা তোমাদের প্রতি মোটেও সদভাব পোষণ করে না। আর তোমরা সমস্ত কিতাবেই বিশ্বাস কর। অথচ তারা যখন তোমাদের সাথে এসে মিশে, বলে, আমরা ঈমান এনেছি। পক্ষান্তরে তারা যখন পৃথক হয়ে যায়, তখন তোমাদের উপর রোষবশতঃ আঙ্গুল কামড়াতে থাকে। বলুন, তোমরা আক্রোশে মরতে থাক। আর আল্লাহ মনের কথা ভালই জানেন।
Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in your rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart." |

অতঃপর তোমাদের উপর শোকের পর শান্তি অবতীর্ণ করলেন, যা ছিল তন্দ্রার মত। সে তন্দ্রায় তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ ঝিমোচ্ছিল আর কেউ কেউ প্রাণের ভয়ে ভাবছিল। আল্লাহ সম্পর্কে তাদের মিথ্যা ধারণা হচ্ছিল মুর্খদের মত। তারা বলছিল আমাদের হাতে কি কিছুই করার নেই? তুমি বল, সবকিছুই আল্লাহর হাতে। তারা যা কিছু মনে লুকিয়ে রাখে-তোমার নিকট প্রকাশ করে না সে সবও। তারা বলে আমাদের হাতে যদি কিছু করার থাকতো, তাহলে আমরা এখানে নিহত হতাম না। তুমি বল, তোমরা যদি নিজেদের ঘরেও থাকতে তবুও তারা অবশ্যই বেরিয়ে আসত নিজেদের অবস্থান থেকে যাদের মৃত্যু লিখে দেয়া হয়েছে। তোমাদের বুকে যা রয়েছে তার পরীক্ষা করা ছিল আল্লাহর ইচ্ছা, আর তোমাদের অন্তরে যা কিছু রয়েছে তা পরিষ্কার করা ছিল তাঁর কাম্য। আল্লাহ মনের গোপন বিষয় জানেন।
After (the excitement) of the distress, He sent down calm on a band of you overcome with slumber, while another band was stirred to anxiety by their own feelings, Moved by wrong suspicions of Allah-suspicions due to ignorance. They said: "What affair is this of ours?" Say thou: "Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah's." They hide in their minds what they dare not reveal to thee. They say (to themselves): "If we had had anything to do with this affair, We should not have been in the slaughter here." Say: "Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place of their death"; but (all this was) that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purge what is in your hearts. For Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts. |

এরা হলো সে সমস্ত লোক, যাদের মনের গোপন বিষয় সম্পর্কেও আল্লাহ তা’আলা অবগত। অতএব, আপনি ওদেরকে উপেক্ষা করুন এবং ওদেরকে সদুপদেশ দিয়ে এমন কোন কথা বলুন যা তাদের জন্য কল্যাণকর।
Those men,-Allah knows what is in their hearts; so keep clear of them, but admonish them, and speak to them a word to reach their very souls. |
(আন নিসা:
আয়াতঃ ৬৩) |

যদি কোন নারী স্বীয় স্বামীর পক্ষ থেকে অসদাচরণ কিংবা উপেক্ষার আশংকা করে, তবে পরস্পর কোন মীমাংসা করে নিলে তাদের উভয়ের কোন গোনাহ নাই। মীমাংসা উত্তম। মনের সামনে লোভ বিদ্যমান আছে। যদি তোমরা উত্তম কাজ কর এবং খোদাভীরু হও, তবে, আল্লাহ তোমাদের সব কাজের খবর রাখেন।
If a wife fears cruelty or desertion on her husband's part, there is no blame on them if they arrange an amicable settlement between themselves; and such settlement is best; even though men's souls are swayed by greed. But if ye do good and practise self-restraint, Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do. |
(আন নিসা:
আয়াতঃ ১২৮) |

যখন আল্লাহ বললেনঃ হে ঈসা ইবনে মরিয়ম! তুমি কি লোকদেরকে বলে দিয়েছিলে যে, আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে আমাকে ও আমার মাতাকে উপাস্য সাব্যস্ত কর? ঈসা বলবেন; আপনি পবিত্র! আমার জন্যে শোভা পায় না যে, আমি এমন কথা বলি, যা বলার কোন অধিকার আমার নেই। যদি আমি বলে থাকি, তবে আপনি অবশ্যই পরিজ্ঞাত; আপনি তো আমার মনের কথা ও জানেন এবং আমি জানি না যা আপনার মনে আছে। নিশ্চয় আপনিই অদৃশ্য বিষয়ে জ্ঞাত।
And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah'?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden. |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১১৬) |

এরপর তাদের কাছে আসব তাদের সামনের দিক থেকে, পেছন দিক থেকে, ডান দিক থেকে এবং বাম দিক থেকে। আপনি তাদের অধিকাংশকে কৃতজ্ঞ পাবেন না।
"Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: Nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies)." |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ১৭) |
| 12 |
এবং তাদের মনের ক্ষোভ দূর করবেন। আর আল্লাহ যার প্রতি ইচ্ছা ক্ষমাশীল হবে, আল্লাহ সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
And still the indignation of their hearts. For Allah will turn (in mercy) to whom He will; and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. |
(আত তাওবাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১৫) |

দূর্বল, রুগ্ন, ব্যয়ভার বহনে অসমর্থ লোকদের জন্য কোন অপরাধ নেই, যখন তারা মনের দিক থেকে পবিত্র হবে আল্লাহ ও রসূলের সাথে। নেককারদের উপর অভিযোগের কোন পথ নেই। আর আল্লাহ হচ্ছেন ক্ষমাকারী দয়ালু।
There is no blame on those who are infirm, or ill, or who find no resources to spend (on the cause), if they are sincere (in duty) to Allah and His Messenger: no ground (of complaint) can there be against such as do right: and Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. |
(আত তাওবাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৯১) |

আর আমি তোমাদেরকে বলি না যে, আমার কাছে আল্লাহর ভান্ডার রয়েছে এবং একথাও বলি না যে, আমি গায়বী খবরও জানি; একথাও বলি না যে, আমি একজন ফেরেশতা; আর তোমাদের দৃষ্টিতে যারা লাঞ্ছিত আল্লাহ তাদের কোন কল্যাণ দান করবেন না। তাদের মনের কথা আল্লাহ ভাল করেই জানেন। সুতরাং এমন কথা বললে আমি অন্যায় কারী হব।
"I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor claim I to be an angel. Nor yet do I say, of those whom your eyes do despise that Allah will not grant them (all) that is good: Allah knoweth best what is in their souls: I should, if I did, indeed be a wrong-doer." |

আয়াতঃ ৩১) |

ইউসুফ (আঃ) বললেন, সেই আমাকে আত্মসংবরণ না করতে ফুসলিয়েছে। মহিলার পরিবারে জনৈক সাক্ষী দিল যে, যদি তার জামা সামনের দিক থেকে ছিন্ন থাকে, তবে মহিলা সত্যবাদিনী এবং সে মিথ্যাবাদি।
He said: "It was she that sought to seduce me - from my (true) self." And one of her household saw (this) and bore witness, (thus):- "If it be that his shirt is rent from the front, then is her tale true, and he is a liar! |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ২৬) |

তারা যখন পিতার কথামত প্রবেশ করল, তখন আল্লাহর বিধানের বিরুদ্ধে তা তাদের বাঁচাতে পারল না। কিন্তু ইয়াকুবের সিদ্ধান্তে তাঁর মনের একটি বাসনা ছিল, যা তিনি পূর্ণ করেছেন। এবং তিনি তো আমার শেখানো বিষয় অবগত ছিলেন। কিন্তু অনেক মানুষ অবগত নয়।
And when they entered in the manner their father had enjoined, it did not profit them in the least against (the plan of) Allah: It was but a necessity of Jacob's soul, which he discharged. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge (and experience): but most men know not. |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৬৮) |

তুমি মনে করবে তারা জাগ্রত, অথচ তারা নিদ্রিত। আমি তাদেরকে পার্শ্ব পরিবর্তন করাই ডান দিকে ও বাম দিকে। তাদের কুকুর ছিল সামনের পা দুটি গুহাদ্বারে প্রসারিত করে। যদি তুমি উঁকি দিয়ে তাদেরকে দেখতে, তবে পেছন ফিরে পলায়ন করতে এবং তাদের ভয়ে আতংক গ্রস্ত হয়ে পড়তে।
Thou wouldst have deemed them awake, whilst they were asleep, and We turned them on their right and on their left sides: their dog stretching forth his two fore-legs on the threshold: if thou hadst come up on to them, thou wouldst have certainly turned back from them in flight, and wouldst certainly have been filled with terror of them. |

আয়াতঃ ১৮) |

তারা তার ক্ষীণতম শব্দও শুনবে না এবং তারা তাদের মনের বাসনা অনুযায়ী চিরকাল বসবাস করবে।
Not the slightest sound will they hear of Hell: what their souls desired, in that will they dwell. |
(আম্বিয়া:
আয়াতঃ ১০২) |
| 19 |
এগুলোর গোশত ও রক্ত আল্লাহর কাছে পৌঁছে না, কিন্তু পৌঁছে তাঁর কাছে তোমাদের মনের তাকওয়া। এমনিভাবে তিনি এগুলোকে তোমাদের বশ করে দিয়েছেন, যাতে তোমরা আল্লাহর মহত্ত্ব ঘোষণা কর এ কারণে যে, তিনি তোমাদের পথ প্রদর্শন করেছেন। সুতরাং সৎকর্মশীলদের সুসংবাদ শুনিয়ে দিন।
It is not their meat nor their blood, that reaches Allah: it is your piety that reaches Him: He has thus made them subject to you, that ye may glorify Allah for His Guidance to you and proclaim the good news to all who do right. |
(হাজ্জ্ব:
আয়াতঃ ৩৭) |
| 20 |
তিনিই তো তোমাদের জন্যে রাত্রিকে করেছেন আবরণ, নিদ্রাকে বিশ্রাম এবং দিনকে করেছেন বাইরে গমনের জন্যে।
And He it is Who makes the Night as a Robe for you, and Sleep as Repose, and makes the Day (as it were) a Resurrection. |
(আল-ফুরকান:
আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |
| 21 |
তারা কি তাদের সামনের ও পশ্চাতের আকাশ ও পৃথিবীর প্রতিলক্ষ্য করে না? আমি ইচ্ছা করলে তাদের সহ ভূমি ধসিয়ে দেব অথবা আকাশের কোন খন্ড তাদের উপর পতিত করব। আল্লাহ অভিমুখী প্রত্যেক বান্দার জন্য এতে অবশ্যই নিদর্শন রয়েছে।
See they not what is before them and behind them, of the sky and the earth? If We wished, We could cause the earth to swallow them up, or cause a piece of the sky to fall upon them. Verily in this is a Sign for every devotee that turns to Allah (in repentance). |

আয়াতঃ ৯) |
| 22 |
দুর্বলরা অহংকারীদেরকে বলবে, বরং তোমরাই তো দিবারাত্রি চক্রান্ত করে আমাদেরকে নির্দেশ দিতে যেন আমরা আল্লাহকে না মানি এবং তাঁর অংশীদার সাব্যস্ত করি তারা যখন শাস্তি দেখবে, তখন মনের অনুতাপ মনেই রাখবে। বস্তুতঃ আমি কাফেরদের গলায় বেড়ী পরাব। তারা সে প্রতিফলই পেয়ে থাকে যা তারা করত।
Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Nay! it was a plot (of yours) by day and by night: Behold! Ye (constantly) ordered us to be ungrateful to Allah and to attribute equals to Him!" They will declare (their) repentance when they see the Penalty: We shall put yokes on the necks of the Unbelievers: It would only be a requital for their (ill) Deeds. |
(সাবা:
আয়াতঃ ৩৩) |
| 23 |
আর যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয়, তোমরা সামনের আযাব ও পেছনের আযাবকে ভয় কর, যাতে তোমাদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করা হয়, তখন তারা তা অগ্রাহ্য করে।
When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). |
(ইয়াসীন:
আয়াতঃ ৪৫) |
| 24 |
এতে মিথ্যার প্রভাব নেই, সামনের দিক থেকেও নেই এবং পেছন দিক থেকেও নেই। এটা প্রজ্ঞাময়, প্রশংসিত আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে অবতীর্ণ।
No falsehood can approach it from before or behind it: It is sent down by One Full of Wisdom, Worthy of all Praise. |
(হা-মীম সেজদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৪২) |
| 25 |
তিনি তোমাদের কাছে ধন-সম্পদ চাইলে অতঃপর তোমাদেরকে অতিষ্ঠ করলে তোমরা কার্পণ্য করবে এবং তিনি তোমাদের মনের সংকীর্ণতা প্রকাশ করে দেবেন।
If He were to ask you for all of them, and press you, ye would covetously withhold, and He would bring out all your ill-feeling. |
(মুহাম্মদ:
আয়াতঃ ৩৭) |
| 26 |
যারা মুহাজিরদের আগমনের পূর্বে মদীনায় বসবাস করেছিল এবং বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছিল, তারা মুহাজিরদের ভালবাসে, মুহাজিরদেরকে যা দেয়া হয়েছে, তজ্জন্যে তারা অন্তরে ঈর্ষাপোষণ করে না এবং নিজেরা অভাবগ্রস্ত হলেও তাদেরকে অগ্রাধিকার দান করে। যারা মনের কার্পণ্য থেকে মুক্ত, তারাই সফলকাম।
But those who before them, had homes (in Medina) and had adopted the Faith,- show their affection to such as came to them for refuge, and entertain no desire in their hearts for things given to the (latter), but give them preference over themselves, even though poverty was their (own lot). And those saved from the covetousness of their own souls,- they are the ones that achieve prosperity. |

আয়াতঃ ৯) |
| 27 |
অতএব তোমরা যথাসাধ্য আল্লাহকে ভয় কর, শুন, আনুগত্য কর এবং ব্যয় কর। এটা তোমাদের জন্যে কল্যাণকর। যারা মনের কার্পন্য থেকে মুক্ত, তারাই সফলকাম।
So fear Allah as much as ye can; listen and obey and spend in charity for the benefit of your own soul and those saved from the covetousness of their own souls,- they are the ones that achieve prosperity. |
(আত-তাগাবুন:
আয়াতঃ ১৬) |

আরও শপথ করি সেই মনের, যে নিজেকে ধিক্কার দেয়-
And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). |
(আল ক্বেয়ামাহ:
আয়াতঃ ২) |

কখনই নয়, যদি সে বিরত না হয়, তবে আমি মস্তকের সামনের কেশগুচ্ছ ধরে হেঁচড়াবই-
Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- |
