যে ব্যাক্তি আল্লাহর মসজিদসমূহে তাঁর নাম উচ্চারণ করতে বাধা দেয় এবং সেগুলোকে উজাড় করতে চেষ্টা করে, তার চাইতে বড় যালেম আর কে? এদের পক্ষে মসজিদসমূহে প্রবেশ করা বিধেয় নয়, অবশ্য ভীত-সন্ত্রস্ত অবস্থায়। ওদের জন্য ইহকালে লাঞ্ছনা এবং পরকালে কঠিন শাস্তি রয়েছে।
And who is more unjust than he who forbids that in places for the worship of Allah, Allah's name should be celebrated?-whose zeal is (in fact) to ruin them? It was not fitting that such should themselves enter them except in fear. For them there is nothing but disgrace in this world, and in the world to come, an exceeding torment. |

তিনি বললেন, তোমরাই নিক্ষেপ কর। যখন তারা নিক্ষেপ করল তখন লোকদের চোখগুলোকে বাধিয়ে দিল, ভীত-সন্ত্রস্ত করে তুলল এবং মহাযাদু প্রদর্শন করল।
Said Moses: "Throw ye (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them: for they showed a great (feat of) magic. |

আর স্মরণ করতে থাক স্বীয় পালনকর্তাকে আপন মনে ক্রন্দনরত ও ভীত-সন্ত্রস্ত অবস্থায় এবং এমন স্বরে যা চিৎকার করে বলা অপেক্ষা কম; সকালে ও সন্ধ্যায়। আর বে-খবর থেকো না।
And do thou (O reader!) Bring thy Lord to remembrance in thy (very) soul, with humility and in reverence, without loudness in words, in the mornings and evenings; and be not thou of those who are unheedful. |

আর আমলনামা সামনে রাখা হবে। তাতে যা আছে; তার কারণে আপনি অপরাধীদেরকে ভীত-সন্ত্রস্ত দেখবেন। তারা বলবেঃ হায় আফসোস, এ কেমন আমলনামা। এ যে ছোট বড় কোন কিছুই বাদ দেয়নি-সবই এতে রয়েছে। তারা তাদের কৃতকর্মকে সামনে উপস্থিত পাবে। আপনার পালনকর্তা কারও প্রতি জুলুম করবেন না।
And the Book (of Deeds) will be placed (before you); and thou wilt see the sinful in great terror because of what is (recorded) therein; they will say, "Ah! woe to us! what a Book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great, but takes account thereof!" They will find all that they did, placed before them: And not one will thy Lord treat with injustice. |

তখন লোকজন তার দিকে ছুটে এলো ভীত-সন্ত্রস্ত পদে।
Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). |
