হে, মুমিনগণ, তোমাদের মধ্যে যখন কারও মৃত্যু উপস্থিত হয়, তখন ওছিয়ত করার সময় তোমাদের মধ্য থেকে ধর্মপরায়ন দুজনকে সাক্ষী রেখো। তোমরা সফরে থাকলে এবং সে অবস্থায় তোমাদের মৃত্যু উপস্থিত হলে তোমরা তোমাদের ছাড়াও দু ব্যক্তিকে সাক্ষী রেখো। যদি তোমাদের সন্দেহ হয়, তবে উভয়কে নামাযের পর থাকতে বলবে। অতঃপর উভয়েই আল্লাহর নামে কসম খাবে যে, আমরা এ কসমের বিনিময়ে কোন উপকার গ্রহণ করতে চাই না, যদিও কোন আত্নীয়ও হয় এবং আল্লাহর সাক্ষ্য আমরা গোপন করব না। এমতাবস্থায় কঠোর গোনাহগার হব।
O ye who believe! When death approaches any of you, (take) witnesses among yourselves when making bequests,- two just men of your own (brotherhood) or others from outside if ye are journeying through the earth, and the chance of death befalls you (thus). If ye doubt (their truth), detain them both after prayer, and let them both swear by Allah: "We wish not in this for any worldly gain, even though the (beneficiary) be our near relation: we shall hide not the evidence before Allah: if we do, then behold! the sin be upon us!" |

স্মরণ কর, যখন আমি ফেরেশতাদেরকে বললামঃ আদমকে সেজদা কর, তখন ইবলীস ব্যতীত সবাই সেজদায় পড়ে গেল। কিন্তু সে বললঃ আমি কি এমন ব্যক্তিকে সেজদা করব, যাকে আপনি মাটির দ্বারা সৃষ্টি করেছেন?
Behold! We said to the angels: "Bow down unto Adam": They bowed down except Iblis: He said, "Shall I bow down to one whom Thou didst create from clay?" |

যখন তোমার ভগিনী এসে বললঃ আমি কি তোমাদেরকে বলে দেব কে তাকে লালন পালন করবে। অতঃপর আমি তোমাকে তোমার মাতার কাছে ফিরিয়ে দিলাম, যাতে তার চক্ষু শীতল হয় এবং দুঃখ না পায়। তুমি এক ব্যক্তিকে হত্যা করেছিলে, অতঃপর আমি তোমাকে এই দুশ্চিন্তা থেকে মুক্তি দেই; আমি তোমাকে অনেক পরীক্ষা করেছি। অতঃপর তুমি কয়েক বছর মাদইয়ান বাসীদের মধ্যে অবস্থান করেছিলে; হে মূসা, অতঃপর তুমি নির্ধারিত সময়ে এসেছ।
"Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! |

তিনি শহরে প্রবেশ করলেন, যখন তার অধিবাসীরা ছিল বেখবর। তথায় তিনি দুই ব্যক্তিকে লড়াইরত দেখলেন। এদের একজন ছিল তাঁর নিজ দলের এবং অন্য জন তাঁর শত্রু দলের। অতঃপর যে তাঁর নিজ দলের সে তাঁর শত্রু দলের লোকটির বিরুদ্ধে তাঁর কাছে সাহায্য প্রার্থনা করল। তখন মূসা তাকে ঘুষি মারলেন এবং এতেই তার মৃত্যু হয়ে গেল। মূসা বললেন, এটা শয়তানের কাজ। নিশ্চয় সে প্রকাশ্য শত্রু, বিভ্রান্তকারী।
And he entered the city at a time when its people were not watching: and he found there two men fighting,- one of his own religion, and the other, of his foes. Now the man of his own religion appealed to him against his foe, and Moses struck him with his fist and made an end of him. He said: "This is a work of Evil (Satan): for he is an enemy that manifestly misleads!" |

অতঃপর মূসা যখন উভয়ের শত্রুকে শায়েস্তা করতে চাইলেন, তখন সে বলল, গতকল্য তুমি যেমন এক ব্যক্তিকে হত্যা করেছিলে, সে রকম আমাকেও কি হত্যা করতে চাও? তুমি তো পৃথিবীতে স্বৈরাচারী হতে চাচ্ছ এবং সন্ধি স্থাপনকারী হতে চাও না।
Then, when he decided to lay hold of the man who was an enemy to both of them, that man said: "O Moses! Is it thy intention to slay me as thou slewest a man yesterday? Thy intention is none other than to become a powerful violent man in the land, and not to be one who sets things right!" |
(আল কাসাস:
আয়াতঃ ১৯) |

মূসা বলল, হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমি তাদের এক ব্যক্তিকে হত্যা করেছি। কাজেই আমি ভয় করছি যে, তারা আমাকে হত্যা করবে।
He said: "O my Lord! I have slain a man among them, and I fear lest they slay me. |

আয়াতঃ ৩৩) |

যে ব্যক্তিকে তার পালনকর্তার আয়াতসমূহ দ্বারা উপদেশ দান করা হয়, অতঃপর সে তা থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়, তার চেয়ে যালেম আর কে? আমি অপরাধীদেরকে শাস্তি দেব।
And who does more wrong than one to whom are recited the Signs of his Lord, and who then turns away therefrom? Verily from those who transgress We shall exact (due) Retribution. |
(সেজদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ২২) |

ইতিপূর্বে তোমাদের কাছে ইউসুফ সুস্পষ্ট প্রামাণাদিসহ আগমন করেছিল, অতঃপর তোমরা তার আনীত বিষয়ে সন্দেহই পোষণ করতে। অবশেষে যখন সে মারা গেল, তখন তোমরা বলতে শুরু করলে, আল্লাহ ইউসুফের পরে আর কাউকে রসূলরূপে পাঠাবেন না। এমনিভাবে আল্লাহ সীমালংঘনকারী, সংশয়ী ব্যক্তিকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেন।
"And to you there came Joseph in times gone by, with Clear Signs, but ye ceased not to doubt of the (Mission) for which he had come: At length, when he died, ye said: 'No messenger will Allah send after him.' thus doth Allah leave to stray such as transgress and live in doubt,- |

তারা কি এমন ব্যক্তিকে আল্লাহর জন্যে বর্ণনা করে, যে অলংকারে লালিত-পালিত হয় এবং বিতর্কে কথা বলতে অক্ষম।
Is then one brought up among trinkets, and unable to give a clear account in a dispute (to be associated with Allah)? |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ১৮) |

সে সেই ব্যক্তিকে ডাকবে যে সত্যের প্রতি পৃষ্ঠপ্রদর্শন করেছিল ও বিমুখ হয়েছিল।
Inviting (all) such as turn their backs and turn away their faces (from the Right). |
(আল মা'আরিজ:

এ থেকে দূরে রাখা হবে খোদাভীরু ব্যক্তিকে,
But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- |
(আল লায়ল:
আয়াতঃ ১৭) |
