তার চাইতে অত্যাচারী কে, যে আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে তার কাছে প্রমাণিত সাক্ষ্যকে গোপন করে? আল্লাহ তোমাদের কর্ম সম্পর্কে বেখবর নন। সে সম্প্রদায় অতীত হয়ে গেছে। তারা যা করেছে, তা তাদের জন্যে এবং তোমরা যা করছ, তা তোমাদের জন্যে। তাদের কর্ম সম্পর্কে তোমাদের জিজ্ঞেস করা হবে না।
That was a people that hath passed away. They shall reap the fruit of what they did, and ye of what ye do! Of their merits there is no question in your case: |

নিশ্চয়ই আমি আপনাকে বার বার আকাশের দিকে তাকাতে দেখি। অতএব, অবশ্যই আমি আপনাকে সে কেবলার দিকেই ঘুরিয়ে দেব যাকে আপনি পছন্দ করেন। এখন আপনি মসজিদুল-হারামের দিকে মুখ করুন এবং তোমরা যেখানেই থাক, সেদিকে মুখ কর। যারা আহলে-কিতাব, তারা অবশ্যই জানে যে, এটাই ঠিক পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে। আল্লাহ বেখবর নন, সে সমস্ত কর্ম সম্পর্কে যা তারা করে।
We see the turning of thy face (for guidance to the heavens: now Shall We turn thee to a Qibla that shall please thee. Turn then Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque: Wherever ye are, turn your faces in that direction. The people of the Book know well that that is the truth from their Lord. Nor is Allah unmindful of what they do. |

প্রত্যেকের জন্যে তাদের কর্মের আনুপাতিক মর্যাদা আছে এবং আপনার প্রতিপালক তাদের কর্ম সম্পর্কে বেখবর নন।
To all are degrees (or ranks) according to their deeds: for thy Lord is not unmindful of anything that they do. |

আমি আমার নিদর্শনসমূহ হতে তাদেরকে ফিরিয়ে রাখি, যারা পৃথিবীতে অন্যায়ভাবে গর্ব করে। যদি তারা সমস্ত নিদর্শন প্রত্যক্ষ করে ফেলে, তবুও তা বিশ্বাস করবে না। আর যদি হেদায়েতের পথ দেখে, তবে সে পথ গ্রহণ করে না। অথচ গোমরাহীর পথ দেখলে তাই গ্রহণ করে নেয়। এর কারণ, তারা আমার নিদর্শনসমূহকে মিথ্যা বলে মনে করেছে এবং তা থেকে বেখবর রয়ে গেছে।
Those who behave arrogantly on the earth in defiance of right - them will I turn away from My signs: Even if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them; and if they see the way of right conduct, they will not adopt it as the way; but if they see the way of error, that is the way they will adopt. For they have rejected our signs, and failed to take warning from them. |

অবশ্যই যেসব লোক আমার সাক্ষাৎ লাভের আশা রাখে না এবং পার্থিব জীবন নিয়েই উৎফুল্ল রয়েছে, তাতেই প্রশান্তি অনুভব করেছে এবং যারা আমার নির্দশনসমূহ সম্পর্কে বেখবর।
Those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, but are pleased and satisfied with the life of the present, and those who heed not Our Signs,- |

জালেমরা যা করে, সে সম্পর্কে আল্লাহকে কখনও বেখবর মনে করো না তাদেরকে তো ঐ দিন পর্যন্ত অবকাশ দিয়ে রেখেছেন, যেদিন চক্ষুসমূহ বিস্ফোরিত হবে।
Think not that Allah doth not heed the deeds of those who do wrong. He but giveth them respite against a Day when the eyes will fixedly stare in horror,- |

মানুষের হিসাব-কিতাবের সময় নিকটবর্তী; অথচ তারা বেখবর হয়ে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিচ্ছে।
Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away. |

আমোঘ প্রতিশ্রুত সময় নিকটবর্তী হলে কাফেরদের চক্ষু উচ্চে স্থির হয়ে যাবে; হায় আমাদের দূর্ভাগ্য, আমরা এ বিষয়ে বেখবর ছিলাম; বরং আমরা গোনাহগরই ছিলাম।
Then will the true promise draw nigh (of fulfilment): then behold! the eyes of the Unbelievers will fixedly stare in horror: "Ah! Woe to us! we were indeed heedless of this; nay, we truly did wrong!" |

তিনি শহরে প্রবেশ করলেন, যখন তার অধিবাসীরা ছিল বেখবর। তথায় তিনি দুই ব্যক্তিকে লড়াইরত দেখলেন। এদের একজন ছিল তাঁর নিজ দলের এবং অন্য জন তাঁর শত্রু দলের। অতঃপর যে তাঁর নিজ দলের সে তাঁর শত্রু দলের লোকটির বিরুদ্ধে তাঁর কাছে সাহায্য প্রার্থনা করল। তখন মূসা তাকে ঘুষি মারলেন এবং এতেই তার মৃত্যু হয়ে গেল। মূসা বললেন, এটা শয়তানের কাজ। নিশ্চয় সে প্রকাশ্য শত্রু, বিভ্রান্তকারী।
And he entered the city at a time when its people were not watching: and he found there two men fighting,- one of his own religion, and the other, of his foes. Now the man of his own religion appealed to him against his foe, and Moses struck him with his fist and made an end of him. He said: "This is a work of Evil (Satan): for he is an enemy that manifestly misleads!" |

যে ব্যক্তি আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে এমন বস্তুর পূজা করে, যে কেয়ামত পর্যন্তও তার ডাকে সাড়া দেবে না, তার চেয়ে অধিক পথভ্রষ্ট আর কে? তারা তো তাদের পুজা সম্পর্কেও বেখবর।
And who is more astray than one who invokes besides Allah, such as will not answer him to the Day of Judgment, and who (in fact) are unconscious of their call (to them)? |
