বলে দিনঃ অপবিত্র ও পবিত্র সমান নয়, যদিও অপবিত্রের প্রাচুর্য তোমাকে বিস্মিত করে। অতএব, হে বুদ্ধিমানগণ, আল্লাহকে ভয় কর-যাতে তোমরা মুক্তি পাও।
Say: "Not equal are things that are bad and things that are good, even though the abundance of the bad may dazzle thee; so fear Allah, O ye that understand; that (so) ye may prosper." |

সুতরাং তাদের ধন-সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্ততি যেন আপনাকে বিস্মিত না করে। আল্লাহর ইচ্ছা হল এগুলো দ্বারা দুনিয়ার জীবনে তাদের আযাবে নিপতিত রাখা এবং প্রাণবিয়োগ হওয়া কুফরী অবস্থায়।
Let not their wealth nor their (following in) sons dazzle thee: in reality Allah's plan is to punish them with these things in this life, and that their souls may perish in their (very) denial of Allah. |

আর বিস্মিত হয়ো না তাদের ধন সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্তুতির দরুন। আল্লাহ তো এই চান যে, এ সবের কারণে তাদেরকে আযাবের ভেতরে রাখবেন দুনিয়ায় এবং তাদের প্রাণ নির্গত হওয়া পর্যন্ত যেন তারা কাফেরই থাকে।
