আর যদি আহলে-কিতাবরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করত এবং খোদাভীতি অবলম্বন করত, তবে আমি তাদের মন্দ বিষয়সমূহ ক্ষমা করে দিতাম এবং তাদেরকে নেয়ামতের উদ্যানসমূহে প্রবিষ্ট করতাম।
If only the People of the Book had believed and been righteous, We should indeed have blotted out their iniquities and admitted them to gardens of bliss. |

আপনি বলে দিনঃ আমার পালনকর্তা কেবলমাত্র অশ্লীল বিষয়সমূহ হারাম করেছেন যা প্রকাশ্য ও অপ্রকাশ্য এবং হারাম করেছেন গোনাহ, অন্যায়-অত্যাচার আল্লাহর সাথে এমন বস্তুকে অংশীদার করা, তিনি যার কোন, সনদ অবতীর্ণ করেননি এবং আল্লাহর প্রতি এমন কথা আরোপ করা, যা তোমরা জান না।
Say: the things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah, for which He hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge. |

আর আমি তোমাকে পটে লিখে দিয়েছি সর্বপ্রকার উপদেশ ও বিস্তারিত সব বিষয়। অতএব, এগুলোকে দৃঢ়ভাবে ধারণ কর এবং স্বজাতিকে এর কল্যাণকর বিষয়সমূহ দৃঢ়তার সাথে পালনের নির্দেশ দাও।
And We ordained laws for him in the tablets in all matters, both commanding and explaining all things, (and said): "Take and hold these with firmness, and enjoin thy people to hold fast by the best in the precepts: soon shall I show you the homes of the wicked,- (How they lie desolate)." |

বস্তুতঃ এভাবে আমি বিষয়সমূহ সবিস্তারে বর্ণনা করি, যাতে তারা ফিরে আসে।
Thus do We explain the signs in detail; and perchance they may turn (unto Us). |
