সকল মানুষ একই জাতি সত্তার অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল। অতঃপর আল্লাহ তা’আলা পয়গম্বর পাঠালেন সুসংবাদদাতা ও ভীতি প্রদর্শনকরী হিসাবে। আর তাঁদের সাথে অবর্তীণ করলেন সত্য কিতাব, যাতে মানুষের মাঝে বিতর্কমূলক বিষয়ে মীমাংসা করতে পারেন। বস্তুতঃ কিতাবের ব্যাপারে অন্য কেউ মতভেদ করেনি; কিন্তু পরিষ্কার নির্দেশ এসে যাবার পর নিজেদের পারস্পরিক জেদবশতঃ তারাই করেছে, যারা কিতাব প্রাপ্ত হয়েছিল। অতঃপর আল্লাহ ঈমানদারদেরকে হেদায়েত করেছেন সেই সত্য বিষয়ে, যে ব্যাপারে তারা মতভেদ লিপ্ত হয়েছিল। আল্লাহ যাকে ইচ্ছা, সরল পথ বাতলে দেন।
Mankind was one single nation, and Allah sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them He sent the Book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed; but the People of the Book, after the clear Signs came to them, did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy. Allah by His Grace Guided the believers to the Truth, concerning that wherein they differed. For Allah guided whom He will to a path that is straight. |

যদি তারা তোমার সাথে বিতর্কে অবতীর্ণ হয় তবে বলে দাও, "আমি এবং আমার অনুসরণকারীগণ আল্লাহর প্রতি আত্নসমর্পণ করেছি।" আর আহলে কিতাবদের এবং নিরক্ষরদের বলে দাও যে, তোমরাও কি আত্নসমর্পণ করেছ? তখন যদি তারা আত্নসমর্পণ করে, তবে সরল পথ প্রাপ্ত হলো, আর যদি মুখ ঘুরিয়ে নেয়, তাহলে তোমার দায়িত্ব হলো শুধু পৌছে দেয়া। আর আল্লাহর দৃষ্টিতে রয়েছে সকল বান্দা।
So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants. |

নিশ্চয় আমি আপনার প্রতি সত্য কিতাব অবতীর্ণ করেছি, যাতে আপনি মানুষের মধ্যে ফয়সালা করেন, যা আল্লাহ আপনাকে হৃদয়ঙ্গম করান। আপনি বিশ্বাসঘাতকদের পক্ষ থেকে বিতর্ককারী হবেন না।
We have sent down to thee the Book in truth, that thou mightest judge between men, as guided by Allah: so be not (used) as an advocate by those who betray their trust; |

যারা মনে বিশ্বাস ঘাতকতা পোষণ করে তাদের পক্ষ থেকে বিতর্ক করবেন না। আল্লাহ পছন্দ করেন না তাকে, যে বিশ্বাস ঘাতক পাপী হয়।
Contend not on behalf of such as betray their own souls; for Allah loveth not one given to perfidy and crime: |

তাঁর সাথে তার সম্প্রদায় বিতর্ক করল। সে বললঃ তোমরা কি আমার সাথে আল্লাহর একত্ববাদ সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করছ; অথচ তিনি আমাকে পথ প্রদর্শন করেছেন। তোমরা যাদেরকে শরীক কর, আমি তাদেরকে ভয় করি না তবে আমার পালকর্তাই যদি কোন কষ্ট দিতে চান। আমার পালনকর্তাই প্রত্যেক বস্তুকে স্বীয় জ্ঞান দ্বারা বেষ্টন করে আছেন। তোমরা কি চিন্তা কর না ?
His people disputed with him. He said: "(Come) ye to dispute with me, about Allah, when He (Himself) hath guided me? I fear not (the beings) ye associate with Allah: Unless my Lord willeth, (nothing can happen). My Lord comprehendeth in His knowledge all things. Will ye not (yourselves) be admonished? |

আয়াতঃ ৮০) |

আপন পালনকর্তার পথের প্রতি আহবান করুন জ্ঞানের কথা বুঝিয়ে ও উপদেশ শুনিয়ে উত্তমরূপে এবং তাদের সাথে বিতর্ক করুন পছন্দ যুক্ত পন্থায়। নিশ্চয় আপনার পালনকর্তাই ঐ ব্যক্তি সম্পর্কে বিশেষ ভাবে জ্ঞাত রয়েছেন, যে তাঁর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়ে পড়েছে এবং তিনিই ভাল জানেন তাদেরকে, যারা সঠিক পথে আছে।
Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance. |

আয়াতঃ ১২৫) |

এমনিভাবে আমি তাদের খবর প্রকাশ করে দিলাম, যাতে তারা জ্ঞাত হয় যে, আল্লাহর ওয়াদা সত্য এবং কেয়ামতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই। যখন তারা নিজেদের কর্তব্য বিষয়ে পরস্পর বিতর্ক করছিল, তখন তারা বললঃ তাদের উপর সৌধ নির্মাণ কর। তাদের পালনকর্তা তাদের বিষয়ে ভাল জানেন। তাদের কর্তব্য বিষয়ে যাদের মত প্রবল হল, তারা বললঃ আমরা অবশ্যই তাদের স্থানে মসজিদ নির্মান করব।
Thus did We make their case known to the people, that they might know that the promise of Allah is true, and that there can be no doubt about the Hour of Judgment. Behold, they dispute among themselves as to their affair. (Some) said, "Construct a building over them": Their Lord knows best about them: those who prevailed over their affair said, "Let us surely build a place of worship over them." |

অজ্ঞাত বিষয়ে অনুমানের উপর ভিত্তি করে এখন তারা বলবেঃ তারা ছিল তিন জন; তাদের চতুর্থটি তাদের কুকুর। একথাও বলবে; তারা পাঁচ জন। তাদের ছষ্ঠটি ছিল তাদের কুকুর। আরও বলবেঃ তারা ছিল সাত জন। তাদের অষ্টমটি ছিল তাদের কুকুর। বলুনঃ আমার পালনকর্তা তাদের সংখ্যা ভাল জানেন। তাদের খবর অল্প লোকই জানে। সাধারণ আলোচনা ছাড়া আপনি তাদের সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করবেন না এবং তাদের অবস্থা সম্পর্কে তাদের কাউকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ ও করবেন না।
(Some) say they were three, the dog being the fourth among them; (others) say they were five, the dog being the sixth,- doubtfully guessing at the unknown; (yet others) say they were seven, the dog being the eighth. Say thou: "My Lord knoweth best their number; It is but few that know their (real case)." Enter not, therefore, into controversies concerning them, except on a matter that is clear, nor consult any of them about (the affair of) the Sleepers. |

আমি রাসূলগনকে সুসংবাদ দাতা ও ভয় প্রদর্শন কারীরূপেই প্রেরণ করি এবং কাফেররাই মিথ্যা অবলম্বনে বিতর্ক করে, তা দ্বারা সত্যকে ব্যর্থ করে দেয়ার উদ্দেশে এবং তারা আমার নিদর্শনাবলীও যদ্বারা তাদেরকে ভয় প্রদর্শন করা হয়, সেগুলোকে ঠাট্টারূপে গ্রহণ করেছে।
We only send the messengers to give Glad Tidings and to give warnings: But the unbelievers dispute with vain argument, in order therewith to weaken the truth, and they treat My Signs as a jest, as also the fact that they are warned! |

আয়াতঃ ৫৬) |

এই মারইয়ামের পুত্র ঈসা। সত্যকথা, যে সম্পর্কে লোকেরা বিতর্ক করে।
Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute. |

আয়াতঃ ৩৪) |

অতঃপর তারা তাদের কাজে নিজেদের মধ্যে বিতর্ক করল এবং গোপনে পরামর্শ করল।
So they disputed, one with another, over their affair, but they kept their talk secret. |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৬২) |
| 12 |
কতক মানুষ অজ্ঞানতাবশতঃ আল্লাহ সম্পꦣ2503;ক বিতর্ক করে এবং প্রত্যেক অবাধ্য শয়তানের অনুসরণ করে।
And yet among men there are such as dispute about Allah, without knowledge, and follow every evil one obstinate in rebellion! |

আয়াতঃ ৩) |
| 13 |
কতক মানুষ জ্ঞান; প্রমাণ ও উজ্জ্বল কিতাব ছাড়াই আল্লাহ সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে।
Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about Allah, without Knowledge, without Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment,- |

আয়াতঃ ৮) |
| 14 |
সে পার্শ্ব পরিবর্তন করে বিতর্ক করে, যাতে আল্লাহর পথ থেকে বিভ্রান্ত করে দেয়। তার জন্যে দুনিয়াতে লাঞ্ছনা আছে এবং কেয়ামতের দিন আমি তাকে দহন-যন্ত্রণা আস্বাদন করাব।
(Disdainfully) bending his side, in order to lead (men) astray from the Path of Allah: for him there is disgrace in this life, and on the Day of Judgment We shall make him taste the Penalty of burning (Fire). |
(হাজ্জ্ব:
আয়াতঃ ৯) |
| 15 |
এই দুই বাদী বিবাদী, তারা তাদের পালনকর্তা সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে। অতএব যারা কাফের, তাদের জন্যে আগুনের পোশাক তৈরী করা হয়েছে। তাদের মাথার উপর ফুটন্ত পানি ঢেলে দেয়া হবে।
These two antagonists dispute with each other about their Lord: But those who deny (their Lord),- for them will be cut out a garment of Fire: over their heads will be poured out boiling water. |
(হাজ্জ্ব:
আয়াতঃ ১৯) |
| 16 |
আমি প্রত্যেক উম্মতের জন্যে এবাদতের একটি নিয়ম-কানুন নির্ধারণ করে দিয়েছি, যা তারা পালন করে। অতএব তারা যেন এ ব্যাপারে আপনার সাথে বিতর্ক না করে। আপনি তাদেরকে পালনকর্তার দিকে আহবান করুন। নিশ্চয় আপনি সরল পথেই আছেন।
To every People have We appointed rites and ceremonies which they must follow: let them not then dispute with thee on the matter, but do thou invite (them) to thy Lord: for thou art assuredly on the Right Way. |
(হাজ্জ্ব:
আয়াতঃ ৬৭) |
| 17 |
তারা যদি আপনার সাথে বিতর্ক করে, তবে বলে দিন, তোমরা যা কর, সে সর্ম্পকে আল্লাহ অধিক জ্ঞাত।
If they do wrangle with thee, say, "Allah knows best what it is ye are doing." |
(হাজ্জ্ব:
আয়াতঃ ৬৮) |
| 18 |
আমি সামুদ সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে তাদের ভাই সালেহকে এই মর্মে প্রেরণ করেছি যে, তোমরা আল্লাহর এবাদত কর। অতঃপর তারা দ্বিধাবিভক্ত হয়ে বিতর্কে প্রবৃত্ত হল।
We sent (aforetime), to the Thamud, their brother Salih, saying, "Serve Allah": But behold, they became two factions quarrelling with each other. |

আয়াতঃ ৪৫) |
| 19 |
তোমরা কিতাবধারীদের সাথে তর্ক-বিতর্ক করবে না, কিন্তু উত্তম পন্থায়; তবে তাদের সাথে নয়, যারা তাদের মধ্যে বে-ইনসাফ। এবং বল, আমাদের প্রতি ও তোমাদের প্রতি যা নাযিল করা হয়েছে, তাতে আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি। আমাদের উপাস্য ও তোমাদের উপাস্য একই এবং আমরা তাঁরই আজ্ঞাবহ।
And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)." |

কাফেররাই কেবল আল্লাহর আয়াত সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে। কাজেই নগরীসমূহে তাদের বিচরণ যেন আপনাকে বিভ্রান্তিতে না ফেলে।
None can dispute about the Signs of Allah but the Unbelievers. Let not, then, their strutting about through the land deceive thee! |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৪) |
| 21 |
তাদের পূর্বে নূহের সম্প্রদায় মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল, আর তাদের পরে অন্য অনেক দল ও প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায় নিজ নিজ পয়গম্বরকে আক্রমণ করার ইচ্ছা করেছিল এবং তারা মিথ্যা বিতর্কে প্রবৃত্ত হয়েছিল, যেন সত্যধর্মকে ব্যর্থ করে দিতে পারে। অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করলাম। কেমন ছিল আমার শাস্তি।
But (there were people) before them, who denied (the Signs),- the People of Noah, and the Confederates (of Evil) after them; and every People plotted against their prophet, to seize him, and disputed by means of vanities, therewith to condemn the Truth; but it was I that seized them! and how (terrible) was My Requital! |

যারা নিজেদের কাছে আগত কোন দলীল ছাড়াই আল্লাহর আয়াত সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে, তাদের একজন আল্লাহ ও মুমিনদের কাছে খুবই অসন্তোষজনক। এমনিভাবে আল্লাহ প্রত্যেক অহংকারী-স্বৈরাচারী ব্যক্তির অন্তরে মোহর এঁটে দেন।
"(Such) as dispute about the Signs of Allah, without any authority that hath reached them, grievous and odious (is such conduct) in the sight of Allah and of the Believers. Thus doth Allah, seal up every heart - of arrogant and obstinate Transgressors." |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৩৫) |

যখন তারা জাহান্নামে পরস্পর বিতর্ক করবে, অতঃপর দূর্বলরা অহংকারীদেরকে বলবে, আমরা তোমাদের অনুসারী ছিলাম। তোমরা এখন জাহান্নামের আগুনের কিছু অংশ আমাদের থেকে নিবৃত করবে কি?
Behold, they will dispute with each other in the Fire! The weak ones (who followed) will say to those who had been arrogant, "We but followed you: Can ye then take (on yourselves) from us some share of the Fire? |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |

নিশ্চয় যারা আল্লাহর আয়াত সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে তাদের কাছে আগত কোন দলীল ব্যতিরেকে, তাদের অন্তরে আছে কেবল আত্নম্ভরিতা, যা অর্জনে তারা সফল হবে না। অতএব, আপনি আল্লাহর আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করুন। নিশ্চয় তিনি সবকিছু শুনেন, সবকিছু দেখেন।
Those who dispute about the signs of Allah without any authority bestowed on them,- there is nothing in their breasts but (the quest of) greatness, which they shall never attain to: seek refuge, then, in Allah: It is He Who hears and sees (all things). |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৫৬) |

আপনি কি তাদেরকে দেখেননি, যারা আল্লাহর আয়াত সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে, তারা কোথায় ফিরছে?
Seest thou not those that dispute concerning the Signs of Allah? How are they turned away (from Reality)?- |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৬৯) |
| 26 |
আল্লাহর দ্বীন মেনে নেয়ার পর যারা সে সম্পর্কে বিতর্কে প্রবৃত্ত হয়, তাদের বিতর্ক তাদের পালনকর্তার কাছে বাতিল, তাদের প্রতি আল্লাহর গযব এবং তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে কঠোর আযাব।
But those who dispute concerning Allah after He has been accepted,- futile is their dispute in the Sight of their Lord: on them will be a Penalty terrible. |
(আশ-শুরা:
আয়াতঃ ১৬) |
| 27 |
যারা তাতে বিশ্বাস করে না তারা তাকে তড়িৎ কামনা করে। আর যারা বিশ্বাস করে, তারা তাকে ভয় করে এবং জানে যে, তা সত্য। জেনে রাখ, যারা কেয়ামত সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে, তারা দূরবর্তী পথ ভ্রষ্টতায় লিপ্ত রয়েছে।
Only those wish to hasten it who believe not in it: those who believe hold it in awe, and know that it is the Truth. Behold, verily those that dispute concerning the Hour are far astray. |
(আশ-শুরা:
আয়াতঃ ১৮) |
| 28 |
এবং যারা আমার ক্ষমতা সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করে, তারা যেন জানে যে, তাদের কোন পলায়নের জায়গা নেই।
But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape. |
(আশ-শুরা:
আয়াতঃ ৩৫) |
| 29 |
তারা কি এমন ব্যক্তিকে আল্লাহর জন্যে বর্ণনা করে, যে অলংকারে লালিত-পালিত হয় এবং বিতর্কে কথা বলতে অক্ষম।
Is then one brought up among trinkets, and unable to give a clear account in a dispute (to be associated with Allah)? |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ১৮) |
| 30 |
এবং বলল, আমাদের উপাস্যরা শ্রেষ্ঠ, না সে? তারা আপনার সামনে যে উদাহরণ উপস্থাপন করে তা কেবল বিতর্কের জন্যেই করে। বস্তুতঃ তারা হল এক বিতর্ককারী সম্প্রদায়।
And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. |

তোমরা কি বিষয়ে বিতর্ক করবে যা সে দেখেছে?
Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? |
(আন-নাজম:
