তোমরা ঐ মহিলার মত হয়ো না, যে পরিশ্রমের পর কাটা সূতা টুকরো টুকরো করে ছিড়ে ফেলে, তোমরা নিজেদের কসমসমূহকে পারস্পরিক প্রবঞ্চনার বাহানা রূপে গ্রহণ কর এজন্যে যে, অন্য দল অপেক্ষা এক দল অধিক ক্ষমতাবান হয়ে যায়। এতদ্বারা তো আল্লাহ শুধু তোমাদের পরীক্ষা করেন। আল্লাহ অবশ্যই কিয়ামতের দিন প্রকাশ করে দেবেন, যে বিষয়ে তোমরা কলহ করতে।
And be not like a woman who breaks into untwisted strands the yarn which she has spun, after it has become strong. Nor take your oaths to practise deception between yourselves, lest one party should be more numerous than another: for Allah will test you by this; and on the Day of Judgment He will certainly make clear to you (the truth of) that wherein ye disagree. |

তোমরা স্বীয় কসমসমূহকে পারস্পরিক কলহ দ্বন্দ্বের বাহানা করো না। তা হলে দৃঢ়ভাবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হওয়ার পর পা ফসকে যাবে এবং তোমরা শাস্তির স্বাদ আস্বাদন করবে এ কারণে যে, তোমরা আমার পথে বাধা দান করেছ এবং তোমাদের কঠোর শাস্তি হবে।
And take not your oaths, to practise deception between yourselves, with the result that someone's foot may slip after it was firmly planted, and ye may have to taste the evil (consequences) of having hindered (men) from the Path of Allah, and a Mighty Wrath descend on you. |

তারা কি আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অন্যান্য উপাস্য গ্রহণ করেছে? বলুন, তোমরা তোমাদের প্রমাণ আন। এটাই আমার সঙ্গীদের কথা এবং এটাই আমার পুর্ববর্তীদের কথা। বরং তাদের অধিকাংশই সত্য জানে না; অতএব তারা টালবাহানা করে।
Or have they taken for worship (other) gods besides him? Say, "Bring your convincing proof: this is the Message of those with me and the Message of those before me." But most of them know not the Truth, and so turn away. |

মৃত্যুযন্ত্রণা নিশ্চিতই আসবে। এ থেকেই তুমি টালবাহানা করতে।
And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!" |
