যারা আল্লাহর রাস্তায় স্বীয় ধন-সম্পদ ব্যয় করে আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টি অর্জনের লক্ষ্যে এবং নিজের মনকে সুদৃঢ় করার জন্যে তাদের উদাহরণ টিলায় অবস্থিত বাগানের মত, যাতে প্রবল বৃষ্টিপাত হয়; অতঃপর দ্বিগুণ ফসল দান করে। যদি এমন প্রবল বৃষ্টিপাত নাও হয়, তবে হাল্কা বর্ষণই যথেষ্ট। আল্লাহ তোমাদের কাজকর্ম যথার্থই প্রত্যক্ষ করেন।
And the likeness of those who spend their substance, seeking to please Allah and to strengthen their souls, is as a garden, high and fertile: heavy rain falls on it but makes it yield a double increase of harvest, and if it receives not Heavy rain, light moisture sufficeth it. Allah seeth well whatever ye do. |

তোমাদের কেউ পছন্দ করে যে, তার একটি খেজুর ও আঙ্গুরের বাগান হবে, এর তলদেশ দিয়ে নহর প্রবাহিত হবে, আর এতে সর্বপ্রকার ফল-ফসল থাকবে এবং সে বার্ধক্যে পৌছবে, তার দুর্বল সন্তান সন্ততিও থাকবে, এমতাবস্থায় এ বাগানের একটি ঘূর্ণিবায়ু আসবে, যাতে আগুন রয়েছে, অনন্তর বাগানটি ভষ্মীভূত হয়ে যাবে? এমনিভাবে আল্লাহ তা’আলা তোমাদের জন্যে নিদর্শনসমূহ বর্ননা করেন-যাতে তোমরা চিন্তা-ভাবনা কর।
Does any of you wish that he should have a garden with date-palms and vines and streams flowing underneath, and all kinds of fruit, while he is stricken with old age, and his children are not strong (enough to look after themselves)- that it should be caught in a whirlwind, with fire therein, and be burnt up? Thus doth Allah make clear to you (His) Signs; that ye may consider. |

নিজের প্রতি জুলুম করে সে তার বাগানে প্রবেশ করল। সে বললঃ আমার মনে হয় না যে, এ বাগান কখনও ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে।
He went into his garden in a state (of mind) unjust to his soul: He said, "I deem not that this will ever perish, |

যদি তুমি আমাকে ধনে ও সন্তানে তোমার চাইতে কম দেখ, তবে যখন তুমি তোমার বাগানে প্রবেশ করলে, তখন একথা কেন বললে না; আল্লাহ যা চান, তাই হয়। আল্লাহর দেয়া ব্যতীত কোন শক্তি নেই।
"Why didst thou not, as thou wentest into thy garden, say: 'Allah's will (be done)! There is no power but with Allah!' If thou dost see me less than thee in wealth and sons, |

আশাকরি আমার পালকর্তা আমাকে তোমার বাগান অপেক্ষা উৎকৃষ্টতর কিছু দেবেন এবং তার (তোমার বাগানের) উপর আসমান থেকে আগুন প্রেরণ করবেন। অতঃপর সকাল বেলায় তা পরিষ্কার ময়দান হয়ে যাবে।
"It may be that my Lord will give me something better than thy garden, and that He will send on thy garden thunderbolts (by way of reckoning) from heaven, making it (but) slippery sand!- |

শস্যক্ষেত্রের মধ্যে এবং মঞ্জুরিত খেজুর বাগানের মধ্যে ?
"And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)? |

আমি তাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করেছি, যেমন পরীক্ষা করেছি উদ্যানওয়ালাদের, যখন তারা শপথ করেছিল যে, সকালে বাগানের ফল আহরণ করবে,
Verily We have tried them as We tried the People of the Garden, when they resolved to gather the fruits of the (garden) in the morning. |

অতঃপর আপনার পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে বাগানে এক বিপদ এসে পতিত হলো। যখন তারা নিদ্রিত ছিল।
Then there came on the (garden) a visitation from thy Lord, (which swept away) all around, while they were asleep. |

অদ্য যেন কোন মিসকীন ব্যক্তি তোমাদের কাছে বাগানে প্রবেশ করতে না পারে।
"Let not a single indigent person break in upon you into the (garden) this day." |
