আর যদি বর্জন করার সংকল্প করে নেয়, তাহলে নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ শ্রবণকারী ও জ্ঞানী।
But if their intention is firm for divorce, Allah heareth and knoweth all things. |

তালাকে-‘রাজঈ’ হ’ল দুবার পর্যন্ত তারপর হয় নিয়মানুযায়ী রাখবে, না হয় সহৃদয়তার সঙ্গে বর্জন করবে। আর নিজের দেয়া সম্পদ থেকে কিছু ফিরিয়ে নেয়া তোমাদের জন্য জায়েয নয় তাদের কাছ থেকে। কিন্তু যে ক্ষেত্রে স্বামী ও স্ত্রী উভয়েই এ ব্যাপারে ভয় করে যে, তারা আল্লাহর নির্দেশ বজায় রাখতে পারবে না, অতঃপর যদি তোমাদের ভয় হয় যে, তারা উভয়েই আল্লাহর নির্দেশ বজায় রাখতে পারবে না, তাহলে সেক্ষেত্রে স্ত্রী যদি বিনিময় দিয়ে অব্যাহতি নিয়ে নেয়, তবে উভয়ের মধ্যে কারোরই কোন পাপ নেই। এই হলো আল্লাহ কর্তৃক নির্ধারিত সীমা। কাজেই একে অতিক্রম করো না। বস্তুতঃ যারা আল্লাহ কর্তৃক নির্ধারিত সীমা লঙ্ঘন করবে, তারাই জালেম।
A divorce is only permissible twice: after that, the parties should either hold Together on equitable terms, or separate with kindness. It is not lawful for you, (Men), to take back any of your gifts (from your wives), except when both parties fear that they would be unable to keep the limits ordained by Allah. If ye (judges) do indeed fear that they would be unable to keep the limits ordained by Allah, there is no blame on either of them if she give something for her freedom. These are the limits ordained by Allah; so do not transgress them if any do transgress the limits ordained by Allah, such persons wrong (Themselves as well as others). |

যারা মুসলমানদের বর্জন করে কাফেরদেরকে নিজেদের বন্ধু বানিয়ে নেয় এবং তাদেরই কাছে সম্মান প্রত্যাশা করে, অথচ যাবতীয় সম্মান শুধুমাত্র আল্লাহরই জন্য।
Yea, to those who take for friends unbelievers rather than believers: is it honour they seek among them? Nay,- all honour is with Allah. |

আর আল্লাহর জন্য রয়েছে সব উত্তম নাম। কাজেই সে নাম ধরেই তাঁকে ডাক। আর তাদেরকে বর্জন কর, যারা তাঁর নামের ব্যাপারে বাঁকা পথে চলে। তারা নিজেদের কৃতকর্মের ফল শীঘ্রই পাবে।
The most beautiful names belong to Allah: so call on him by them; but shun such men as use profanity in his names: for what they do, they will soon be requited. |

আর সম্ভবতঃ ঐসব আহকাম যা ওহীর মাধ্যমে তোমার নিকট পাঠানো হয়, তার কিছু অংশ বর্জন করবে? এবং এতে মন ছোট করে বসবে? তাদের এ কথায় যে, তাঁর উপর কোন ধন-ভান্ডার কেন অবতীর্ণ হয়নি? অথবা তাঁর সাথে কোন ফেরেশতা আসেনি কেন? তুমিতো শুধু সতর্ককারী মাত্র; আর সব কিছুরই দায়িত্বভার তো আল্লাহই নিয়েছেন।
Perchance thou mayest (feel the inclination) to give up a part of what is revealed unto thee, and thy heart feeleth straitened lest they say, "Why is not a treasure sent down unto him, or why does not an angel come down with him?" But thou art there only to warn! It is Allah that arrangeth all affairs! |

তারা বলল-হে হুদ, তুমি আমাদের কাছে কোন প্রমাণ নিয়ে আস নাই, আমরা তোমার কথায় আমাদের দেব-দেবীদের বর্জন করতে পারি না আর আমরা তোমার প্রতি ঈমান আনয়নকারীও নই।
They said: "O Hud! No Clear (Sign) that hast thou brought us, and we are not the ones to desert our gods on thy word! Nor shall we believe in thee! |
(হুদ:

অতঃপর সত্য সত্যই এক ভয়ংকর শব্দ তাদেরকে হতচকিত করল এবং আমি তাদেরকে বাত্যা-তাড়িত আবর্জনা সদৃশ করে দিলাম। অতঃপর ধ্বংস হোক পাপী সম্প্রদায়।
Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! |

এবং তোমাদের পালনকর্তা তোমাদের জন্যে যে স্ত্রীগনকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তাদেরকে বর্জন কর? বরং তোমরা সীমালঙ্ঘনকারী সম্প্রদায়।
"And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" |

And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble. |
