আর যখন তোমরা ছিলে সমরাঙ্গনের এ প্রান্তে আর তারা ছিল সে প্রান্তে অথচ কাফেলা তোমাদের থেকে নীচে নেমে গিয়েছিল। এমতাবস্থায় যদি তোমরা পারস্পরিক অঙ্গীকারাবদ্ধ হতে, তবে তোমরা এক সঙ্গে সে ওয়াদা পালন করতে পারতে না। কিন্তু আল্লাহ তা’আলা এমন এক কাজ করতে চেয়েছিলেন, যা নির্ধারিত হয়ে গিয়েছিল যাতে সে সব লোক নিহত হওয়ার ছিল, প্রমাণ প্রতিষ্ঠার পর এবং যাদের বাঁচার ছিল, তারা বেঁচে থাকে প্রমাণ প্রতিষ্ঠার পর। আর নিশ্চিতই আল্লাহ শ্রবণকারী, বিজ্ঞ।
Remember ye were on the hither side of the valley, and they on the farther side, and the caravan on lower ground than ye. Even if ye had made a mutual appointment to meet, ye would certainly have failed in the appointment: But (thus ye met), that Allah might accomplish a matter already enacted; that those who died might die after a clear Sign (had been given), and those who lived might live after a Clear Sign (had been given). And verily Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things). |

সে বলল-কি দুর্ভাগ্য আমার! আমি সন্তান প্রসব করব? অথচ আমি বার্ধক্যের শেষ প্রান্তে এসে উপনীত হয়েছি আর আমার স্বামীও বৃদ্ধ, এতো ভারী আশ্চর্য কথা।
She said: "Alas for me! shall I bear a child, seeing I am an old woman, and my husband here is an old man? That would indeed be a wonderful thing!" |

আর দিনের দুই প্রান্তেই নামায ঠিক রাখবে, এবং রাতের প্রান্তভাগে পূর্ণ কাজ অবশ্যই পাপ দূর করে দেয়, যারা স্মরণ রাখে তাদের জন্য এটি এক মহা স্মারক।
And establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night: For those things, that are good remove those that are evil: Be that the word of remembrance to those who remember (their Lord): |

সে বললঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা কেমন করে আমার পুত্র হবে অথচ আমার স্ত্রী যে বন্ধ্যা, আর আমিও যে বার্ধক্যের শেষ প্রান্তে উপনীত।
He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?" |

যখন সে তার কাছে পৌছল, তখন পবিত্র ভূমিতে অবস্থিত উপত্যকার ডান প্রান্তের বৃক্ষ থেকে তাকে আওয়াজ দেয়া হল, হে মূসা! আমি আল্লাহ, বিশ্ব পালনকর্তা।
But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard from the right bank of the valley, from a tree in hallowed ground: "O Moses! Verily I am Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.... |

মূসাকে যখন আমি নির্দেশনামা দিয়েছিলাম, তখন আপনি পশ্চিম প্রান্তে ছিলেন না এবং আপনি প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীও ছিলেন না।
Thou wast not on the Western side when We decreed the Commission to Moses, nor wast thou a witness (of those events). |
