তারা বলল, আপনি প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করুন-তিনি বলে দিন যে, সেটা কিরূপ? কেননা, গরু আমাদের কাছে সাদৃশ্যশীল মনে হয়। ইনশাআল্লাহ এবার আমরা অবশ্যই পথপ্রাপ্ত হব। মূসা (আঃ) বললেন, তিনি বলেন যে, এ গাভী ভূকর্ষণ ও জল সেচনের শ্রমে অভ্যস্ত নয়-হবে নিষ্কলঙ্ক, নিখুঁত।
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills." |

তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছা বিশেষ জ্ঞান দান করেন এবং যাকে বিশেষ জ্ঞান দান করা হয়, সে প্রভুত কল্যাণকর বস্তু প্রাপ্ত হয়। উপদেশ তারাই গ্রহণ করে, যারা জ্ঞানবান।
He granteth wisdom to whom He pleaseth; and he to whom wisdom is granted receiveth indeed a benefit overflowing; but none will grasp the Message but men of understanding. |

আল্লাহ কাউকে তার সাধ্যাতীত কোন কাজের ভার দেন না, সে তাই পায় যা সে উপার্জন করে এবং তাই তার উপর বর্তায় যা সে করে। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, যদি আমরা ভুলে যাই কিংবা ভুল করি, তবে আমাদেরকে অপরাধী করো না। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! এবং আমাদের উপর এমন দায়িত্ব অর্পণ করো না, যেমন আমাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের উপর অর্পণ করেছ, হে আমাদের প্রভূ! এবং আমাদের দ্বারা ঐ বোঝা বহন করিও না, যা বহন করার শক্তি আমাদের নাই। আমাদের পাপ মোচন কর। আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা কর এবং আমাদের প্রতি দয়া কর। তুমিই আমাদের প্রভু। সুতরাং কাফের সম্প্রদায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের কে সাহায্যে কর।
On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray:) "Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith." |

অতঃপর সবাইকে সত্যিকার প্রভু আল্লাহর কাছে পৌঁছানো হবে। শুনে রাখ, ফয়সালা তাঁরই এবং তিনি দ্রুত হিসাব গ্রহণ করবেন।
Then are men returned unto Allah, their protector, the (only) reality: Is not His the command? and He is the swiftest in taking account. |

তারপর মূসা যখন আমার প্রতিশ্রুত সময় অনুযায়ী এসে হাযির হলেন এবং তাঁর সাথে তার পরওয়ারদেগার কথা বললেন, তখন তিনি বললেন, হে আমার প্রভু, তোমার দীদার আমাকে দাও, যেন আমি তোমাকে দেখতে পাই। তিনি বললেন, তুমি আমাকে কস্মিনকালেও দেখতে পাবে না, তবে তুমি পাহাড়ের দিকে দেখতে থাক, সেটি যদি স্বস্থানে দঁড়িয়ে থাকে তবে তুমিও আমাকে দেখতে পাবে। তারপর যখন তার পরওয়ারদগার পাহাড়ের উপর আপন জ্যোতির বিকিরণ ঘটালেন, সেটিকে বিধ্বস্ত করে দিলেন এবং মূসা অজ্ঞান হয়ে পড়ে গেলেন। অতঃপর যখন তাঁর জ্ঞান ফিরে এল; বললেন, হে প্রভু! তোমার সত্তা পবিত্র, তোমার দরবারে আমি তওবা করছি এবং আমিই সর্বপ্রথম বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করছি।
When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: "O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee." Allah said: "By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look upon the mount; if it abide in its place, then shalt thou see Me." When his Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe." |

আচ্ছা বল তো, যে ব্যক্তি তার প্রভুর সুস্পষ্ট পথে রয়েছে, আর সাথে সাথে আল্লাহর তরফ থেকে একটি সাক্ষীও বর্তমান রয়েছে এবং তার পূর্ববর্তী মূসা (আঃ) এর কিতাবও সাক্ষী যা ছিল পথনির্দেশক ও রহমত স্বরূপ, (তিনি কি অন্যান্যের সমান) অতএব তাঁরা কোরআনের প্রতি ঈমান আনেন। আর ঐসব দলগুলি যে কেউ তা অস্বীকার করে, দোযখই হবে তার ঠিকানা। অতএব, আপনি তাতে কোন সন্দেহে থাকবেন না। নিঃসন্দেহে তা আপনার পালনকর্তার পক্ষ হতে ধ্রুব সত্য; তথাপি অনেকেই তা বিশ্বাস করে না।
Can they be (like) those who accept a Clear (Sign) from their Lord, and whom a witness from Himself doth teach, as did the Book of Moses before it,- a guide and a mercy? They believe therein; but those of the Sects that reject it,- the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. Be not then in doubt thereon: for it is the truth from thy Lord: yet many among men do not believe! |

তারা বলল-তুমি আল্লাহর হুকুম সম্পর্কে বিস্ময়বোধ করছ? হে গৃহবাসীরা, তোমাদের উপর আল্লাহর রহমত ও প্রভুত বরকত রয়েছে। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ প্রশংসিত মহিমাময়।
They said: "Dost thou wonder at Allah's decree? The grace of Allah and His blessings on you, o ye people of the house! for He is indeed worthy of all praise, full of all glory!" |

আর যারা সৌভাগ্যবান তারা বেহেশতের মাঝে, সেখানেই চিরদিন থাকবে, যতদিন আসমান ও যমীন বর্তমান থাকবে। তবে তোমার প্রভু অন্য কিছু ইচ্ছা করলে ভিন্ন কথা। এ দানের ধারাবাহিকতা কখনো ছিন্ন হওয়ার নয়।
And those who are blessed shall be in the Garden: They will dwell therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth endure, except as thy Lord willeth: a gift without break. |

আর যত লোকই হোক না কেন, যখন সময় হবে, তোমার প্রভু তাদের সকলেরই আমলের প্রতিদান পুরোপুরি দান করবেন। নিশ্চয় তিনি তাদের যাবতীয় কার্যকলাপের খবর রাখেন।
And, of a surety, to all will your Lord pay back (in full the recompense) of their deeds: for He knoweth well all that they do. |

হে কারাগারের সঙ্গীরা! তোমাদের একজন আপন প্রভুকে মদ্যপান করাবে এবং দ্বিতীয়জন, তাকে শুলে চড়ানো হবে। অতঃপর তার মস্তক থেকে পাখী আহার করবে। তোমরা যে, বিষয়ে জানার আগ্রহী তার সিদ্ধান্ত হয়ে গেছে।
"O my two companions of the prison! As to one of you, he will pour out the wine for his lord to drink: as for the other, he will hang from the cross, and the birds will eat from off his head. (so) hath been decreed that matter whereof ye twain do enquire"... |

যে ব্যক্তি সম্পর্কে ধারণা ছিল যে, সে মুক্তি পাবে, তাকে ইউসুফ বলে দিলঃ আপন প্রভুর কাছে আমার আলোচনা করবে। অতঃপর শয়তান তাকে প্রভুর কাছে আলোচনার কথা ভুলিয়ে দিল। ফলে তাঁকে কয়েক বছর কারাগারে থাকতে হল।
And of the two, to that one whom he consider about to be saved, he said: "Mention me to thy lord." But Satan made him forget to mention him to his lord: and (Joseph) lingered in prison a few (more) years. |

বাদশাহ বললঃ ফিরে যাও তোমাদের প্রভুর কাছে এবং জিজ্ঞেস কর তাকে ঐ মহিলার স্বরূপ কি, যারা স্বীয় হস্ত কর্তন করেছিল! আমার পালনকর্তা তো তাদের ছলনা সবই জানেন।
So the king said: "Bring ye him unto me." But when the messenger came to him, (Joseph) said: "Go thou back to thy lord, and ask him, 'What is the state of mind of the ladies who cut their hands'? For my Lord is certainly well aware of their snare." |

এরা তোমাদের বোঝা এমন শহর পর্যন্ত বহন করে নিয়ে যায়, যেখানে তোমরা প্রাণান্তকর পরিশ্রۦ#2478; ব্যতীত পৌছাতে পারতে না। নিশ্চয় তোমাদের প্রভু অত্যন্ত দয়াদ্র, পরম দয়ালু।
And they carry your heavy loads to lands that ye could not (otherwise) reach except with souls distressed: for your Lord is indeed Most Kind, Most Merciful, |

আমি তো কেবল এই নগরীর প্রভুর এবাদত করতে আদিষ্ট হয়েছি, যিনি একে সম্মানিত করেছেন। এবং সব কিছু তাঁরই। আমি আরও আদিষ্ট হয়েছি যেন আমি আজ্ঞাবহদের একজন হই।
For me, I have been commanded to serve the Lord of this city, Him Who has sanctified it and to Whom (belong) all things: and I am commanded to be of those who bow in Islam to Allah's Will,- |

আল্লাহ এক দৃষ্টান্ত বর্ণনা করেছেনঃ একটি লোকের উপর পরস্পর বিরোধী কয়জন মালিক রয়েছে, আরেক ব্যক্তির প্রভু মাত্র একজন-তাদের উভয়ের অবস্থা কি সমান? সমস্ত প্রশংসা আল্লাহর। কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই জানে না।
Allah puts forth a Parable a man belonging to many partners at variance with each other, and a man belonging entirely to one master: are those two equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah! but most of them have no knowledge. |
