অনন্তর যখন রজনীর অন্ধকার তার উপর সমাচ্ছন্ন হল, তখন সে একটি তারকা দেখতে পেল, বললঃ ইহা আমার প্রতিপালক। অতঃপর যখন তা অস্তমিত হল তখন বললঃ আমি অস্তগামীদেরকে ভালবাসি না।
When the night covered him over, He saw a star: He said: "This is my Lord." But when it set, He said: "I love not those that set." |

অতঃপর যখন চন্দ্রকে ঝলমল করতে দেখল, বললঃ এটি আমার প্রতিপালক। অনন্তর যখন তা অদৃশ্য হয়ে গেল, তখন বলল যদি আমার প্রতিপালক আমাকে পথ-প্রদর্শন না করেন, তবে অবশ্যই আমি বিভ্রান্ত সম্প্রদায়ের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে যাব।
When he saw the moon rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord." But when the moon set, He said: "unless my Lord guide me, I shall surely be among those who go astray." |

নিশ্চয় তোমাদের প্রতিপালক আল্লাহ। তিনি নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলকে ছয় দিনে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। অতঃপর আরশের উপর অধিষ্টিত হয়েছেন। তিনি পরিয়ে দেন রাতের উপর দিনকে এমতাবস্থায় যে, দিন দৌড়ে রাতের পিছনে আসে। তিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন সূর্য, চন্দ্র ও নক্ষত্র দৌড় স্বীয় আদেশের অনুগামী। শুনে রেখ, তাঁরই কাজ সৃষ্টি করা এবং আদেশ দান করা। আল্লাহ, বরকতময় যিনি বিশ্বজগতের প্রতিপালক।
Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil o'er the day, each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds! |
