তারা বলেঃ আগুন আমাদিগকে কখনও স্পর্শ করবে না; কিন্তু গণাগনতি কয়েকদিন। বলে দিনঃ তোমরা কি আল্লাহর কাছ থেকে কোন অঙ্গীকার পেয়েছ যে, আল্লাহ কখনও তার খেলাফ করবেন না-না তোমরা যা জান না, তা আল্লাহর সাথে জুড়ে দিচ্ছ।
And they say: "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days:" Say: "Have ye taken a promise from Allah, for He never breaks His promise? or is it that ye say of Allah what ye do not know?" |

তাদেরকে সৎপথে আনার দায় তোমার নয়। বরং আল্লাহ যাকে ইচ্ছা সৎপথে পরিচালিত করেন। যে মাল তোমরা ব্যয় কর, তা নিজ উপাকারার্থেই কর। আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টি ছাড়া অন্য কোন উদ্দেশ্যে ব্যয় করো না। তোমরা যে, অর্থ ব্যয় করবে, তার পুরস্কার পুরোপুরি পেয়ে যাবে এবং তোমাদের প্রতি অন্যায় করা হবে না।
It is not required of thee (O Messenger), to set them on the right path, but Allah sets on the right path whom He pleaseth. Whatever of good ye give benefits your own souls, and ye shall only do so seeking the "Face" of Allah. Whatever good ye give, shall be rendered back to you, and ye shall not Be dealt with unjustly. |

অতঃপর যদি তোমরা পরিত্যাগ না কর, তবে আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূলের সাথে যুদ্ধ করতে প্রস্তুত হয়ে যাও। কিন্তু যদি তোমরা তওবা কর, তবে তোমরা নিজের মূলধন পেয়ে যাবে। তোমরা কারও প্রতি অত্যাচার করো না এবং কেউ তোমাদের প্রতি অত্যাচার করবে না।
If ye do it not, Take notice of war from Allah and His Messenger: But if ye turn back, ye shall have your capital sums: Deal not unjustly, and ye shall not be dealt with unjustly. |

আপনি কি তাদের দেখেননি, যারা কিতাবের কিছু অংশ পেয়েছে-আল্লাহর কিতাবের প্রতি তাদের আহবান করা হয়েছিল যাতে তাদের মধ্যে মীমাংসা করা যায়। অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যে একদল তা অমান্য করে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়।
Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who have been given a portion of the Book? They are invited to the Book of Allah, to settle their dispute, but a party of them Turn back and decline (The arbitration). |

বলুন, আমরা ঈমান এনেছি আল্লাহর উপর এবং যা কিছু অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে আমাদের উপর, ইব্রাহীম, ইসমাঈল, ইসহাক, ইয়াকুব এবং তাঁদের সন্তানবর্গের উপর আর যা কিছু পেয়েছেন মূসা ও ঈসা এবং অন্যান্য নবী রসূলগণ তাঁদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে। আমরা তাঁদের কারো মধ্যে পার্থক্য করি না। আর আমরা তাঁরই অনুগত।
Say: "We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam)." |

যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয় যে, আল্লাহর নাযিলকৃত বিধান এবং রসূলের দিকে এস, তখন তারা বলে, আমাদের জন্যে তাই যথেষ্ট, যার উপর আমরা আমাদের বাপ-দাদাকে পেয়েছি। যদি তাদের বাপ দাদারা কোন জ্ঞান না রাখে এবং হেদায়েত প্রাপ্ত না হয় তবুও কি তারা তাই করবে?
When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed; come to the Messenger": They say: "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance? |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১০৪) |

যেদিন আল্লাহ সব পয়গম্বরকে একত্রিত করবেন, অতঃপর বলবেন তোমরা কি উত্তর পেয়েছিলে? তাঁরা বলবেনঃ আমরা অবগত নই, আপনিই অদৃশ্য বিষয়ে মহাজ্ঞানী।
One day will Allah gather the messengers together, and ask: "What was the response ye received (from men to your teaching)?" They will say: "We have no knowledge: it is Thou Who knowest in full all that is hidden." |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১০৯) |

অতঃপর ঐ ব্যক্তির চাইতে অধিক জালেম কে, যে আল্লাহর প্রতি মিথ্যা আরোপ করে অথবা তার নির্দেশাবলীকে মিথ্যা বলে? তারা তাদের গ্রন্থে লিখিত অংশ পেয়ে যাবে। এমন কি, যখন তাদের কাছে আমার প্রেরিত ফেরশতারা প্রাণ নেওয়ার জন্যে পৌছে, তখন তারা বলে; তারা কোথায় গেল, যাদের কে তোমরা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত আহবান করতে? তারা উত্তর দেবেঃ আমাদের কাছ থেকে উধাও হয়ে গেছে, তারা নিজেদের সম্পর্কে স্বীকার করবে যে, তারা অবশ্যই কাফের ছিল।
Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or rejects His Signs? For such, their portion appointed must reach them from the Book (of decrees): until, when our messengers (of death) arrive and take their souls, they say: "Where are the things that ye used to invoke besides Allah?" They will reply, "They have left us in the lurch," And they will bear witness against themselves, that they had rejected Allah. |

আয়াতঃ ৩৭) |

জান্নাতীরা দোযখীদেরকে ডেকে বলবেঃ আমাদের সাথে আমাদের প্রতিপালক যে ওয়াদা করেছিলেন, তা আমরা সত্য পেয়েছি? অতএব, তোমরাও কি তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের ওয়াদা সত্য পেয়েছ? তারা বলবেঃ হ্যাঁ। অতঃপর একজন ঘোষক উভয়ের মাঝখানে ঘোষণা করবেঃ আল্লাহর অভিসম্পাত জালেমদের উপর।
The Companions of the Garden will call out to the Companions of the Fire: "We have indeed found the promises of our Lord to us true: Have you also found Your Lord's promises true?" They shall say, "Yes"; but a crier shall proclaim between them: "The curse of Allah is on the wrong-doers;- |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ৪৪) |
| 10 |
আর তাদের অধিকাংশ লোককেই আমি প্রতিজ্ঞা বাস্তবায়নকারীরূপে পাইনি; বরং তাদের অধিকাংশকে পেয়েছি হুকুম অমান্যকারী।
Most of them We found not men (true) to their covenant: but most of them We found rebellious and disobedient. |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ১০২) |
| 11 |
সুতরাং যদি কখনো তুমি তাদেরকে যুদ্ধে পেয়ে যাও, তবে তাদের এমন শাস্তি দাও, যেন তাদের উত্তরসূরিরা তাই দেখে পালিয়ে যায়; তাদেরও যেন শিক্ষা হয়।
If ye gain the mastery over them in war, disperse, with them, those who follow them, that they may remember. |
(আল-আনফাল:
আয়াতঃ ৫৭) |

তারা বলল, তুমি কি আমাদেরকে সে পথ থেকে ফিরিয়ে দিতে এসেছ যাতে আমরা পেয়েছি আমাদের বাপ-দাদাদেরকে? আর যাতে তোমরা দুইজন এদেশের সর্দারী পেয়ে যেতে পার? আমরা তোমাদেরকে কিছুতেই মানব না।
They said: "Hast thou come to us to turn us away from the ways we found our fathers following,- in order that thou and thy brother may have greatness in the land? But not we shall believe in you!" |
(ইউনুস:
আয়াতঃ ৭৮) |
| 13 |
আর এ জগতেও তাদের পেছনে লানত রয়েছে এবং কিয়ামতের দিনেও; অত্যন্ত জঘন্য প্রতিফল, যা তারা পেয়েছে।
And they are followed by a curse in this (life) and on the Day of Judgment: and woeful is the gift which shall be given (unto them)! |

আয়াতঃ ৯৯) |
| 14 |
দু’জন কারারুদ্ধের মধ্য থেকে যে ব্যক্তি মুক্তি পেয়েছিল এবং দীর্ঘকাল পর স্মরণ হলে, সে বলল, আমি তোমাদেরকে এর ব্যাখ্যা বলছি। তোমরা আমাকে প্রেরণ কর।
But the man who had been released, one of the two (who had been in prison) and who now bethought him after (so long) a space of time, said: "I will tell you the truth of its interpretation: send ye me (therefore)." |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৪৫) |
| 15 |
তিনি বললেনঃ যার কাছে আমরা আমাদের মাল পেয়েছি, তাকে ছাড়া আর কাউকে গ্রেফতার করা থেকে আল্লাহ আমাদের রক্ষা করুন। তা হলে তো আমরা নিশ্চিতই অন্যায়কারী হয়ে যাব।
He said: "Allah forbid that we take other than him with whom we found our property: indeed (if we did so), we should be acting wrongfully. |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৭৯) |
| 16 |
এমনকি যখন পয়গম্বরগণ নৈরাশ্যে পতিত হয়ে যেতেন, এমনকি এরূপ ধারণা করতে শুরু করতেন যে, তাদের অনুমান বুঝি মিথ্যায় পরিণত হওয়ার উপক্রম হয়েছিল, তখন তাদের কাছে আমার সাহায্য পৌছে। অতঃপর আমি যাদের চেয়েছি তারা উদ্ধার পেয়েছে। আমার শাস্তি অপরাধী সম্প্রদায় থেকে প্রতিহত হয় না।
(Respite will be granted) until, when the messengers give up hope (of their people) and (come to) think that they were treated as liars, there reaches them Our help, and those whom We will are delivered into safety. But never will be warded off our punishment from those who are in sin. |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ১১০) |
| 17 |
তারা বললঃ না, তবে আমরা আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে পেয়েছি, তারা এরূপই করত।
They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." |
(আশ-শো'আরা:
আয়াতঃ ৭৪) |
| 18 |
অতঃপর বালিকাদ্বয়ের একজন লজ্জাজড়িত পদক্ষেপে তাঁর কাছে আগমন করল। বলল, আমার পিতা আপনাকে ডাকছেন, যাতে আপনি যে আমাদেরকে পানি পান করিয়েছেন, তার বিনিময়ে পুরস্কার প্রদান করেন। অতঃপর মূসা যখন তাঁর কাছে গেলেন এবং সমস্ত বৃত্তান্ত বর্ণনা করলেন, তখন তিনি বললেন, ভয় করো না, তুমি জালেম সম্প্রদায়ের কবল থেকে রক্ষা পেয়েছ।
Afterwards one of the (damsels) came (back) to him, walking bashfully. She said: "My father invites thee that he may reward thee for having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear thou not: (well) hast thou escaped from unjust people." |
(আল কাসাস:
আয়াতঃ ২৫) |
| 19 |
মানুষ কি মনে করে যে, তারা একথা বলেই অব্যাহতি পেয়ে যাবে যে, আমরা বিশ্বাস করি এবং তাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করা হবে না?
Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? |
(আল আনকাবুত:
আয়াতঃ ২) |
| 20 |
আমি প্রত্যেককেই তার অপরাধের কারণে পাকড়াও করেছি। তাদের কারও প্রতি প্রেরণ করেছি প্রস্তরসহ প্রচন্ড বাতাস, কাউকে পেয়েছে বজ্রপাত, কাউকে আমি বিলীন করেছি ভূগর্ভে এবং কাউকে করেছি নিমজ্জত। আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি যুলুম করার ছিলেন না; কিন্তু তারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের প্রতি যুলুম করেছে।
Each one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): It was not Allah Who injured (or oppressed) them:" They injured (and oppressed) their own souls. |
(আল আনকাবুত:
আয়াতঃ ৪০) |
| 21 |
তাদেরকে যখন বলা হয়, আল্লাহ যা নাযিল করেছেন, তোমরা তার অনুসরণ কর, তখন তারা বলে, বরং আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে যে বিষয়ের উপর পেয়েছি, তারই অনুসরণ করব। শয়তান যদি তাদেরকে জাহান্নামের শাস্তির দিকে দাওয়াত দেয়, তবুও কি?
When they are told to follow the (Revelation) that Allah has sent down, they say: "Nay, we shall follow the ways that we found our fathers (following). "What! even if it is Satan beckoning them to the Penalty of the (Blazing) Fire? |
(লোকমান:
আয়াতঃ ২১) |
| 22 |
দুর্বলরা অহংকারীদেরকে বলবে, বরং তোমরাই তো দিবারাত্রি চক্রান্ত করে আমাদেরকে নির্দেশ দিতে যেন আমরা আল্লাহকে না মানি এবং তাঁর অংশীদার সাব্যস্ত করি তারা যখন শাস্তি দেখবে, তখন মনের অনুতাপ মনেই রাখবে। বস্তুতঃ আমি কাফেরদের গলায় বেড়ী পরাব। তারা সে প্রতিফলই পেয়ে থাকে যা তারা করত।
Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Nay! it was a plot (of yours) by day and by night: Behold! Ye (constantly) ordered us to be ungrateful to Allah and to attribute equals to Him!" They will declare (their) repentance when they see the Penalty: We shall put yokes on the necks of the Unbelievers: It would only be a requital for their (ill) Deeds. |
(সাবা:
আয়াতঃ ৩৩) |
| 23 |
তারা তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে পেয়েছিল বিপথগামী।
Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ৬৯) |
| 24 |
বরং তারা বলে, আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে পেয়েছি এক পথের পথিক এবং আমরা তাদেরই পদাংক অনুসরণ করে পথপ্রাপ্ত।
Nay! they say: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we do guide ourselves by their footsteps." |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ২২) |
| 25 |
এমনিভাবে আপনার পূর্বে আমি যখন কোন জনপদে কোন সতর্ককারী প্রেরণ করেছি, তখনই তাদের বিত্তশালীরা বলেছে, আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে পেয়েছি এক পথের পথিক এবং আমরা তাদেরই পদাংক অনুসরণ করে চলছি।
Just in the same way, whenever We sent a Warner before thee to any people, the wealthy ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we will certainly follow in their footsteps." |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ২৩) |
| 26 |
সে বলত, তোমরা তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে যে বিষয়ের উপর পেয়েছ, আমি যদি তদপেক্ষা উত্তম বিষয় নিয়ে তোমাদের কাছে এসে থাকি, তবুও কি তোমরা তাই বলবে? তারা বলত তোমরা যে বিষয়সহ প্রেরিত হয়েছ, তা আমরা মানব না।
He said: "What! Even if I brought you better guidance than that which ye found your fathers following?" They said: "For us, we deny that ye (prophets) are sent (on a mission at all)." |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ২৪) |
| 27 |
আমরা আকাশ পর্যবেক্ষণ করছি, অতঃপর দেখতে পেয়েছি যে, কঠোর প্রহরী ও উল্কাপিন্ড দ্বারা আকাশ পরিপূর্ণ।
'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. |

কাফেররা যা করত, তার প্রতিফল পেয়েছে তো?
Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? |
(আত-তাতফীফ:
আয়াতঃ ৩৬) |
| 29 |
তিনি আপনাকে পেয়েছেন পথহারা, অতঃপর পথপ্রদর্শন করেছেন।
And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. |
(আদ্ব-দ্বোহা:
আয়াতঃ ৭) |
| 30 |
তিনি আপনাকে পেয়েছেন নিঃস্ব, অতঃপর অভাবমুক্ত করেছেন।
And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. |
(আদ্ব-দ্বোহা:
আয়াতঃ ৮) |
