বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ যদি তাদের মধ্যে কিছুমাত্র শুভ চিন্তা জানতেন, তবে তাদেরকে শুনিয়ে দিতেন। আর এখনই যদি তাদের শুনিয়ে দেন, তবে তারা মুখ ঘুরিয়ে পালিয়ে যাবে।
If Allah had found in them any good. He would indeed have made them listen: (As it is), if He had made them listen, they would but have turned back and declined (Faith). |

আর যখন সুদৃশ্য করে দিল শয়তান তাদের দৃষ্টিতে তাদের কার্যকলাপকে এবং বলল যে, আজকের দিনে কোন মানুষই তোমাদের উপর বিজয়ী হতে পারবে না আর আমি হলাম তোমাদের সমর্থক, অতঃপর যখন সামনাসামনী হল উভয় বাহিনী তখন সে অতি দ্রুত পায়ে পেছনে দিকে পালিয়ে গেল এবং বলল, আমি তোমাদের সাথে না-আমি দেখছি, যা তোমরা দেখছ না; আমি ভয় করি আল্লাহকে। আর আল্লাহর আযাব অত্যন্ত কঠিন।
Remember Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them, and said: "No one among men can overcome you this day, while I am near to you": But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he turned on his heels, and said: "Lo! I am clear of you; lo! I see what ye see not; Lo! I fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment." |

সুতরাং যদি কখনো তুমি তাদেরকে যুদ্ধে পেয়ে যাও, তবে তাদের এমন শাস্তি দাও, যেন তাদের উত্তরসূরিরা তাই দেখে পালিয়ে যায়; তাদেরও যেন শিক্ষা হয়।
If ye gain the mastery over them in war, disperse, with them, those who follow them, that they may remember. |
(আল-আনফাল:

তিনি বলেন, উহা তোমাদের কাছে আল্লাহই আনবেন, যদি তিনি ইচ্ছা করেন তখন তোমরা পালিয়ে তাঁকে অপারগ করতে পারবে না।
He said: "Truly, Allah will bring it on you if He wills,- and then, ye will not be able to frustrate it! |

যদি আপনি দেখতেন, যখন তারা ভীতসস্ত্রস্ত হয়ে পড়বে, অতঃপর পালিয়েও বাঁচতে পারবে না এবং নিকটবর্তী স্থান থেকে ধরা পড়বে।
If thou couldst but see when they will quake with terror; but then there will be no escape (for them), and they will be seized from a position (quite) near. |

যখন পালিয়ে তিনি বোঝাই নৌকায় গিয়ে পৌঁছেছিলেন।
When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, |
