প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ের একটি মেয়াদ রয়েছে। যখন তাদের মেয়াদ এসে যাবে, তখন তারা না এক মুহুর্ত পিছে যেতে পারবে, আর না এগিয়ে আসতে পারবে।
To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation). |

আর তোমরা তাঁকে বাদ দিয়ে যাদেরকে ডাক তারা না তোমাদের কোন সাহায্য করতে পারবে, না নিজেদের আত্নরক্ষা করতে পারবে।
"But those ye call upon besides Him, are unable to help you, and indeed to help themselves." |

তুমি বল, আমি আমার নিজের ক্ষতি কিংবা লাভেরও মালিক নই, কিন্তু আল্লাহ যা ইচ্ছা করেন। প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যই একেকটি ওয়াদা রয়েছে, যখন তাদের সে ওয়াদা এসে পৌঁছে যাবে, তখন না একদন্ড পেছনে সরতে পারবে, না সামনে ফসকাতে পারবে,।
Say: "I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except as Allah willeth. To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation)." |

এবং সে ভৃত্যদেরকে বললঃ তাদের পণ্যমূল্য তাদের রসদ-পত্রের মধ্যে রেখে দাও-সম্ভবতঃ তারা গৃহে পৌঁছে তা বুঝতে পারবে, সম্ভবতঃ তারা পুনর্বার আসবে।
And (Joseph) told his servants to put their stock-in-trade (with which they had bartered) into their saddle-bags, so they should know it only when they returned to their people, in order that they might come back. |

বস্তুতঃ তারা এই কোরআনকে অস্বীকার করেছে। এখন শীঘ্রই তারা জেনে নিতে পারবে,
But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! |

বলুন, তিনি পরম করুণাময়, আমরা তাতে বিশ্বাস রাখি এবং তাঁরই উপর ভরসা করি। সত্ত্বরই তোমরা জানতে পারবে, কে প্রকাশ্য পথ-ভ্রষ্টতায় আছে।
Say: "He is (Allah) Most Gracious: We have believed in Him, and on Him have we put our trust: So, soon will ye know which (of us) it is that is in manifest error." |

এমনকি যখন তারা প্রতিশ্রুত শাস্তি দেখতে পাবে, তখন তারা জানতে পারবে, কার সাহায্যকারী দূর্বল এবং কার সংখ্যা কম।
At length, when they see (with their own eyes) that which they are promised,- then will they know who it is that is weakest in (his) helper and least important in point of numbers. |

না, সত্ত্বরই তারা জানতে পারবে,
Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! |
(আন-নাবা:
