আমি হুকুম করলাম, তোমরা সবাই নীচে নেমে যাও। অতঃপর যদি তোমাদের নিকট আমার পক্ষ থেকে কোন হেদায়েত পৌঁছে, তবে যে ব্যক্তি আমার সে হেদায়েত অনুসারে চলবে, তার উপর না কোন ভয় আসবে, না (কোন কারণে) তারা চিন্তাগ্রস্ত ও সন্তপ্ত হবে।
We said: "Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from me, whosoever follows My guidance, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. |

যদি তারা তওরাত, ইঞ্জিল এবং যা প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ থেকে তাদের প্রতি অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে, পুরোপুরি পালন করত, তবে তারা উপর থেকে এবং পায়ের নীচ থেকে ভক্ষণ করত। তাদের কিছুসংখ্যক লোক সৎপথের অনুগামী এবং অনেকেই মন্দ কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।
If only they had stood fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. There is from among them a party on the right course: but many of them follow a course that is evil. |

আর যখন তোমরা ছিলে সমরাঙ্গনের এ প্রান্তে আর তারা ছিল সে প্রান্তে অথচ কাফেলা তোমাদের থেকে নীচে নেমে গিয়েছিল। এমতাবস্থায় যদি তোমরা পারস্পরিক অঙ্গীকারাবদ্ধ হতে, তবে তোমরা এক সঙ্গে সে ওয়াদা পালন করতে পারতে না। কিন্তু আল্লাহ তা’আলা এমন এক কাজ করতে চেয়েছিলেন, যা নির্ধারিত হয়ে গিয়েছিল যাতে সে সব লোক নিহত হওয়ার ছিল, প্রমাণ প্রতিষ্ঠার পর এবং যাদের বাঁচার ছিল, তারা বেঁচে থাকে প্রমাণ প্রতিষ্ঠার পর। আর নিশ্চিতই আল্লাহ শ্রবণকারী, বিজ্ঞ।
Remember ye were on the hither side of the valley, and they on the farther side, and the caravan on lower ground than ye. Even if ye had made a mutual appointment to meet, ye would certainly have failed in the appointment: But (thus ye met), that Allah might accomplish a matter already enacted; that those who died might die after a clear Sign (had been given), and those who lived might live after a Clear Sign (had been given). And verily Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things). |

যদি তোমরা তাকে (রসূলকে) সাহায্য না কর, তবে মনে রেখো, আল্লাহ তার সাহায্য করেছিলেন, যখন তাকে কাফেররা বহিষ্কার করেছিল, তিনি ছিলেন দু’জনের একজন, যখন তারা গুহার মধ্যে ছিলেন। তখন তিনি আপন সঙ্গীকে বললেন বিষন্ন হয়ো না, আল্লাহ আমাদের সাথে আছেন। অতঃপর আল্লাহ তার প্রতি স্বীয় সান্তনা নাযিল করলেন এবং তাঁর সাহায্যে এমন বাহিনী পাঠালেন, যা তোমরা দেখনি। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ কাফেরদের মাথা নীচু করে দিলেন আর আল্লাহর কথাই সদা সমুন্নত এবং আল্লাহ পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
If ye help not (your leader), (it is no matter): for Allah did indeed help him, when the Unbelievers drove him out: he had no more than one companion; they two were in the cave, and he said to his companion, "Have no fear, for Allah is with us": then Allah sent down His peace upon him, and strengthened him with forces which ye saw not, and humbled to the depths the word of the Unbelievers. But the word of Allah is exalted to the heights: for Allah is Exalted in might, Wise. |

অবশেষে যখন আমার হুকুম এসে পৌঁছাল, তখন আমি উক্ত জনপদকে উপরকে নীচে করে দিলাম এবং তার উপর স্তরে স্তরে কাঁকর পাথর বর্ষণ করলাম।
When Our Decree issued, We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread, layer on layer,- |

তাকে শোনানো সুসংবাদের দুঃখে সে লোকদের কাছ থেকে মুখ লুকিয়ে থাকে। সে ভাবে, অপমান সহ্য করে তাকে থাকতে দেবে, না তাকে মাটির নীচে পুতে ফেলবে। শুনে রাখ, তাদের ফয়সালা খুবই নিকৃষ্ট।
With shame does he hide himself from his people, because of the bad news he has had! Shall he retain it on (sufferance and) contempt, or bury it in the dust? Ah! what an evil (choice) they decide on? |

প্রাচীরের ব্যাপার-সেটি ছিল নগরের দুজন পিতৃহীন বালকের। এর নীচে ছিল তাদের গুপ্তধন এবং তাদের পিতা ছিল সৎকর্ম পরায়ন। সুতরাং আপনার পালনকর্তা দায়বশতঃ ইচ্ছা করলেন যে, তারা যৌবনে পদার্পন করুক এবং নিজেদের গুপ্তধন উদ্ধার করুক। আমি নিজ মতে এটা করিনি। আপনি যে বিষয়ে ধৈর্য্যধারণ করতে অক্ষম হয়েছিলেন, এই হল তার ব্যাখ্যা।
"As for the wall, it belonged to two youths, orphans, in the Town; there was, beneath it, a buried treasure, to which they were entitled: their father had been a righteous man: So thy Lord desired that they should attain their age of full strength and get out their treasure - a mercy (and favour) from thy Lord. I did it not of my own accord. Such is the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast unable to hold patience." |

সে বললঃ আমি দেখলাম যা অন্যেরা দেখেনি। অতঃপর আমি সেই প্রেরিত ব্যক্তির পদচিহেߦ#2480; নীচ থেকে এক মুঠি মাটি নিয়ে নিলাম। অতঃপর আমি তা নিক্ষেপ করলাম। আমাকে আমার মন এই মন্ত্রণাই দিল।
He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me." |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৯৬) |

যেদিন আযাব তাদেরকে ঘেরাও করবে মাথার উপর থেকে এবং পায়ের নীচ থেকে। আল্লাহ বললেন, তোমরা যা করতে, তার স্বাদ গ্রহণ কর।
On the Day that the Punishment shall cover them from above them and from below them, and (a Voice) shall say: "Taste ye (the fruits) of your deeds!" |
(আল আনকাবুত:

পদচারণায় মধ্যবর্তিতা অবলম্বন কর এবং কন্ঠস্বর নীচু কর। নিঃসন্দেহে গাধার স্বরই সর্বাপেক্ষা অপ্রীতিকর।
"And be moderate in thy pace, and lower thy voice; for the harshest of sounds without doubt is the braying of the ass." |
(লোকমান:
আয়াতঃ ১৯) |

তাদের জন্যে উপর দিক থেকে এবং নীচের দিক থেকে আগুনের মেঘমালা থাকবে। এ শাস্তি দ্বারা আল্লাহ তাঁর বান্দাদেরকে সতর্ক করেন যে, হে আমার বান্দাগণ, আমাকে ভয় কর।
They shall have Layers of Fire above them, and Layers (of Fire) below them: with this doth Allah warn off his servants: "O My Servants! then fear ye Me!" |
(আল-যুমার:
আয়াতঃ ১৬) |

আমি যে শ্রেষ্ট এ ব্যক্তি থেকে, যে নীচ এবং কথা বলতেও সক্ষম নয়।
"Am I not better than this (Moses), who is a contemptible wretch and can scarcely express himself clearly? |

আল্লাহ মুমিনদের প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট হলেন, যখন তারা বৃক্ষের নীচে আপনার কাছে শপথ করল। আল্লাহ অবগত ছিলেন যা তাদের অন্তরে ছিল। অতঃপর তিনি তাদের প্রতি প্রশান্তি নাযিল করলেন এবং তাদেরকে আসন্ন বিজয় পুরস্কার দিলেন।
Allah's Good Pleasure was on the Believers when they swore Fealty to thee under the Tree: He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down Tranquillity to them; and He rewarded them with a speedy Victory; |

যারা আল্লাহর রসূলের সামনে নিজেদের কন্ঠস্বর নীচু করে, আল্লাহ তাদের অন্তরকে শিষ্টাচারের জন্যে শোধিত করেছেন। তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে ক্ষমা ও মহাপুরস্কার।
Those that lower their voices in the presence of Allah's Messenger,- their hearts has Allah tested for piety: for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. |

এটা নীচু করে দেবে, সমুন্নত করে দেবে।
(Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; |

অতঃপর তাকে ফিরিয়ে দিয়েছি নীচ থেকে নীচে।
Then do We abase him (to be) the lowest of the low,- |
