যখন তিনি কামরার ভেতরে নামাযে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন, তখন ফেরেশতারা তাঁকে ডেকে বললেন যে, আল্লাহ তোমাকে সুসংবাদ দিচ্ছেন ইয়াহইয়া সম্পর্কে, যিনি সাক্ষ্য দেবেন আল্লাহর নির্দেশের সত্যতা সম্পর্কে, যিনি নেতা হবেন এবং নারীদের সংস্পর্শে যাবেন না, তিনি অত্যন্ত সৎকর্মশীল নবী হবেন।
While he was standing in prayer in the chamber, the angels called unto him: "Allah doth give thee glad tidings of Yahya, witnessing the truth of a Word from Allah, and (be besides) noble, chaste, and a prophet,- of the (goodly) company of the righteous." |

আর যখন আপনি তাদেরকে বলবেন, আল্লাহর নির্দেশের দিকে এসো-যা তিনি রসূলের প্রতি নাযিল করেছেন, তখন আপনি মুনাফেকদিগকে দেখবেন, ওরা আপনার কাছ থেকে সম্পূর্ণ ভাবে সরে যাচ্ছে।
When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed, and to the Messenger": Thou seest the Hypocrites avert their faces from thee in disgust. |

যে আল্লাহর নির্দেশের সামনে মস্তক অবনত করে সৎকাজে নিয়োজিত থাকে এবং ইব্রাহীমের ধর্ম অনুসরণ করে, যিনি একনিষ্ঠ ছিলেন, তার চাইতে উত্তম ধর্ম কার? আল্লাহ ইব্রাহীমকে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করেছেন।
Who can be better in religion than one who submits his whole self to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith? For Allah did take Abraham for a friend. |

আর তাদের কাছে সে জনপদের অবস্থা সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞেস কর যা ছিল নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত। যখন শনিবার দিনের নির্দেশের ব্যাপারে সীমাতিক্রম করতে লাগল, যখন আসতে লাগল মাছগুলো তাদের কাছে শনিবার দিন পানির উপর, আর যেদিন শনিবার হত না, আসত না। এভাবে আমি তাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করেছি। কারণ, তারা ছিল নাফরমান।
Ask them concerning the town standing close by the sea. Behold! they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. For on the day of their Sabbath their fish did come to them, openly holding up their heads, but on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not: thus did We make a trial of them, for they were given to transgression. |

যেমন, রীতি রয়েছে ফেরাউনের অনুসারীদের এবং তাদের পূর্বে যারা ছিল তাদের ব্যাপারে যে, এরা আল্লাহর নির্দেশের প্রতি অস্বীকৃতি জ্ঞাপন করেছে এবং সেজন্য আল্লাহ তা’আলা তাদের পাকড়াও করেছেন তাদেরই পাপের দরুন। নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহ মহাশক্তিশালী, কঠিন শাস্তিদাতা।
"(Deeds) after the manner of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them: They rejected the Signs of Allah, and Allah punished them for their crimes: for Allah is Strong, and Strict in punishment: |

আবার অনেক লোক রয়েছে যাদের কাজকর্ম আল্লাহর নির্দেশের উপর স্থগিত রয়েছে; তিনি হয় তাদের আযাব দেবেন না হয় তাদের ক্ষমা করে দেবেন। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ সব কিছুই জ্ঞাত, বিজ্ঞতাসম্পন্ন।
There are (yet) others, held in suspense for the command of Allah, whether He will punish them, or turn in mercy to them: and Allah is All-Knowing, Wise. |

আর যখন তাদের কাছে আমার প্রকৃষ্ট আয়াত সমূহ পাঠ করা হয়, তখন সে সমস্ত লোক বলে, যাদের আশা নেই আমার সাক্ষাতের, নিয়ে এসো কোন কোরআন এটি ছাড়া, অথবা একে পরিবর্তিত করে দাও। তাহলে বলে দাও, একে নিজের পক্ষ থেকে পরিবর্তিত করা আমার কাজ নয়। আমি সে নির্দেশেরই আনুগত্য করি, যা আমার কাছে আসে। আমি যদি স্বীয় পরওয়ারদেগারের নাফরমানী করি, তবে কঠিন দিবসের আযাবের ভয় করি।
But when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them, those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, Say: "Bring us a reading other than this, or change this," Say: "It is not for me, of my own accord, to change it: I follow naught but what is revealed unto me: if I were to disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to come)." |

যদি মুমিনদের দুই দল যুদ্ধে লিপ্ত হয়ে পড়ে, তবে তোমরা তাদের মধ্যে মীমাংসা করে দিবে। অতঃপর যদি তাদের একদল অপর দলের উপর চড়াও হয়, তবে তোমরা আক্রমণকারী দলের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করবে; যে পর্যন্ত না তারা আল্লাহর নির্দেশের দিকে ফিরে আসে। যদি ফিরে আসে, তবে তোমরা তাদের মধ্যে ন্যায়ানুগ পন্থায় মীমাংসা করে দিবে এবং ইনছাফ করবে। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ ইনছাফকারীদেরকে পছন্দ করেন।
If two parties among the Believers fall into a quarrel, make ye peace between them: but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds against the other, then fight ye (all) against the one that transgresses until it complies with the command of Allah; but if it complies, then make peace between them with justice, and be fair: for Allah loves those who are fair (and just). |

আপনি আপনার পালনকর্তার নির্দেশের অপেক্ষায় সবর করুন। আপনি আমার দৃষ্টির সামনে আছেন এবং আপনি আপনার পালনকর্তꦣ2494;র সপ্রশংস পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করুন যখন আপনি গাত্রোত্থান করেন।
Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, |
