কোন কারণে তোমরা এমন জন্তু থেকে ভক্ষণ করবে না, যার উপর আল্লাহর নাম উচ্চারিত হয়, অথচ আল্লাহ ঐ সব জন্তুর বিশদ বিবরণ দিয়েছেন, যেগুলোকে তোমাদের জন্যে হারাম করেছেন; কিন্তু সেগুলোও তোমাদের জন্যে হালাল, যখন তোমরা নিরুপায় হয়ে যাও। অনেক লোক স্বীয় ভ্রান্ত প্রবৃত্তি দ্বারা না জেনে বিপথগামী করতে থাকে। আপনার প্রতিপালক সীমাতিক্রম কারীদেরকে যথার্থই জানেন।
Why should ye not eat of (meats) on which Allah's name hath been pronounced, when He hath explained to you in detail what is forbidden to you - except under compulsion of necessity? But many do mislead (men) by their appetites unchecked by knowledge. Thy Lord knoweth best those who transgress. |

অবশ্যই আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্যে হারাম করেছেন রক্ত, শুকরের মাংস এবং যা জবাই কালে আল্লাহ ছাড়া অন্যের নাম উচ্চারণ করা হয়েছে। অতঃপর কেউ সীমালঙ্ঘন কারী না হয়ে নিরুপায় হয়ে পড়লে তবে, আল্লাহ ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. |
