অতঃপর যখন চন্দ্রকে ঝলমল করতে দেখল, বললঃ এটি আমার প্রতিপালক। অনন্তর যখন তা অদৃশ্য হয়ে গেল, তখন বলল যদি আমার প্রতিপালক আমাকে পথ-প্রদর্শন না করেন, তবে অবশ্যই আমি বিভ্রান্ত সম্প্রদায়ের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে যাব।
When he saw the moon rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord." But when the moon set, He said: "unless my Lord guide me, I shall surely be among those who go astray." |

অতঃপর যখন সূর্যকে চকচক করতে দেখল, বললঃ এটি আমার পালনকর্তা, এটি বৃহত্তর। অতপর যখন তা ডুবে গেল, তখন বলল হে আমার সম্প্রদায়, তোমরা যেসব বিষয়কে শরীক কর, আমি ওসব থেকে মুক্ত।
When he saw the sun rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord; this is the greatest (of all)." But when the sun set, he said: "O my people! I am indeed free from your (guilt) of giving partners to Allah. |

যখন সে তাদের চক্রান্ত শুনল, তখন তাদেরকে ডেকে পাঠাল এবং তাদের জন্যে একটি ভোজ সভার আয়োজন করল। সে তাদের প্রত্যেককে একটি ছুরি দিয়ে বললঃ ইউসুফ এদের সামনে চলে এস। যখন তারা তাকে দেখল, হতভম্ব হয়ে গেল এবং আপন হাত কেটে ফেলল। তারা বললঃ কখনই নয় এ ব্যক্তি মানব নয়। এ তো কোন মহান ফেরেশতা।
When she heard of their malicious talk, she sent for them and prepared a banquet for them: she gave each of them a knife: and she said (to Joseph), "Come out before them." When they saw him, they did extol him, and (in their amazement) cut their hands: they said, "Allah preserve us! no mortal is this! this is none other than a noble angel!" |

যখন উভয় দল পরস্পরকে দেখল, তখন মূসার সঙ্গীরা বলল, আমরা যে ধরা পড়ে গেলাম।
And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken." |

আরও বলা হল, তুমি তোমার লাঠি নিক্ষেপ কর। অতঃপর যখন সে লাঠিকে সর্পের ন্যায় দৌড়াদৌড়ি করতে দেখল, তখন সে মুখ ফিরিয়ে বিপরীত দিকে পালাতে লাগল এবং পেছন ফিরে দেখল না। হে মূসা, সামনে এস এবং ভয় করো না। তোমার কোন আশংকা নেই।
"Now do thou throw thy rod!" but when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: O Moses!" (It was said), "Draw near, and fear not: for thou art of those who are secure. |

যখন মুমিনরা শক্রবাহিনীকে দেখল, তখন বলল, আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূল এরই ওয়াদা আমাদেরকে দিয়েছিলেন এবং আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূল সত্য বলেছেন। এতে তাদের ঈমান ও আত্নসমর্পণই বৃদ্ধি পেল।
When the Believers saw the Confederate forces, they said: "This is what Allah and his Messenger had promised us, and Allah and His Messenger told us what was true." And it only added to their faith and their zeal in obedience. |

(অতঃপর) তারা যখন শাস্তিকে মেঘরূপে তাদের উপত্যকা অভিমুখী দেখল, তখন বলল, এ তো মেঘ, আমাদেরকে বৃষ্টি দেবে। বরং এটা সেই বস্তু, যা তোমরা তাড়াতাড়ি চেয়েছিলে। এটা বায়ু এতে রয়েছে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
Then, when they saw the (Penalty in the shape of) a cloud traversing the sky, coming to meet their valleys, they said, "This cloud will give us rain!" "Nay, it is the (Calamity) ye were asking to be hastened!- A wind wherein is a Grievous Penalty! |

অতঃপর যখন তারা বাগান দেখল, তখন বললঃ আমরা তো পথ ভূলে গেছি।
But when they saw the (garden), they said: "We have surely lost our way: |
