আর আল্লাহর হুকুম ছাড়া কেউ মরতে পারে না-সেজন্য একটা সময় নির্ধারিত রয়েছে। বস্তুতঃ যে লোক দুনিয়ায় বিনিময় কামনা করবে, আমি তাকে তা দুনিয়াতেই দান করব। পক্ষান্তরে-যে লোক আখেরাতে বিনিময় কামনা করবে, তা থেকে আমি তাকে তাই দেবো। আর যারা কৃতজ্ঞ তাদেরকে আমি প্রতিদান দেবো
Nor can a soul die except by Allah's leave, the term being fixed as by writing. If any do desire a reward in this life, We shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward those that (serve us with) gratitude. |

আর বিস্মিত হয়ো না তাদের ধন সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্তুতির দরুন। আল্লাহ তো এই চান যে, এ সবের কারণে তাদেরকে আযাবের ভেতরে রাখবেন দুনিয়ায় এবং তাদের প্রাণ নির্গত হওয়া পর্যন্ত যেন তারা কাফেরই থাকে।
Nor let their wealth nor their (following in) sons dazzle thee: Allah's plan is to punish them with these things in this world, and that their souls may perish in their (very) denial of Allah. |

এ দুনিয়ায় তাদের পিছনে পিছনে লা’নত রয়েছে এবং কেয়ামতের দিনেও; জেনে রাখ, আদ জাতি তাদের পালনকর্তাকে অস্বীকার করেছে, হুদের জ্ঞাতি আদ জাতির প্রতি অভিসম্পাত রয়েছে জেনে রাখ।
And they were pursued by a Curse in this life,- and on the Day of Judgment. Ah! Behold! for the 'Ad rejected their Lord and Cherisher! Ah! Behold! removed (from sight) were 'Ad the people of Hud! |
