যখন ইব্রাহীমকে তাঁর পালনকর্তা কয়েকটি বিষয়ে পরীক্ষা করলেন, অতঃপর তিনি তা পূর্ণ করে দিলেন, তখন পালনকর্তা বললেন, আমি তোমাকে মানবজাতির নেতা করব। তিনি বললেন, আমার বংশধর থেকেও! তিনি বললেন আমার অঙ্গীকার অত্যাচারীদের পর্যন্ত পৌঁছাবে না।
And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers." |

আল্লাহ আপনাকে ক্ষমা করুন, আপনি কেন তাদের অব্যাহতি দিলেন, যে পর্যন্ত না আপনার কাছে পরিষ্কার হয়ে যেত সত্যবাদীরা এবং জেনে নিতেন মিথ্যাবাদীদের।
Allah give thee grace! why didst thou grant them until those who told the truth were seen by thee in a clear light, and thou hadst proved the liars? |

তারপর যখন তাদেরকে আল্লাহ বাঁচিয়ে দিলেন, তখনই তারা পৃথিবীতে অনাচার করতে লাগল অন্যায় ভাবে। হে মানুষ! শোন, তোমাদের অনাচার তোমাদেরই উপর পড়বে। পার্থিব জীবনের সুফল ভোগ করে নাও-অতঃপর আমার নিকট প্রত্যাবর্তন করতে হবে। তখন আমি বাতলে দেব, যা কিছু তোমরা করতে।
But when he delivereth them, behold! they transgress insolently through the earth in defiance of right! O mankind! your insolence is against your own souls,- an enjoyment of the life of the present: in the end, to Us is your return, and We shall show you the truth of all that ye did. |

যখন নবী তাঁর একজন স্ত্রীর কাছে একটি কথা গোপনে বললেন, অতঃপর স্ত্রী যখন তা বলে দিল এবং আল্লাহ নবীকে তা জানিয়ে দিলেন, তখন নবী সে বিষয়ে স্ত্রীকে কিছু বললেন এবং কিছু বললেন না। নবী যখন তা স্ত্রীকে বললেন, তখন স্ত্রী বললেনঃ কে আপনাকে এ সম্পর্কে অবহিত করল? নবী বললেন,ঃ যিনি সর্বজ্ঞ, ওয়াকিফহাল, তিনি আমাকে অবহিত করেছেন।
When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part. Then when he told her thereof, she said, "Who told thee this? "He said, "He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things)." |
