আর তোমরা নিরাশ হয়ো না এবং দুঃখ করো না। যদি তোমরা মুমিন হও তবে, তোমরাই জয়ী হবে।
So lose not heart, nor fall into despair: For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in Faith. |

আর যদি তোমরা ভয় কর যে, এতীম মেয়েদের হক যথাথভাবে পুরণ করতে পারবে না, তবে সেসব মেয়েদের মধ্যে থেকে যাদের ভাল লাগে তাদের বিয়ে করে নাও দুই, তিন, কিংবা চারটি পর্যন্ত। আর যদি এরূপ আশঙ্কা কর যে, তাদের মধ্যে ন্যায় সঙ্গত আচরণ বজায় রাখতে পারবে না, তবে, একটিই অথবা তোমাদের অধিকারভুক্ত দাসীদেরকে; এতেই পক্ষপাতিত্বে জড়িত না হওয়ার অধিকতর সম্ভাবনা।
If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice. |

যদি কোন নারী স্বীয় স্বামীর পক্ষ থেকে অসদাচরণ কিংবা উপেক্ষার আশংকা করে, তবে পরস্পর কোন মীমাংসা করে নিলে তাদের উভয়ের কোন গোনাহ নাই। মীমাংসা উত্তম। মনের সামনে লোভ বিদ্যমান আছে। যদি তোমরা উত্তম কাজ কর এবং খোদাভীরু হও, তবে, আল্লাহ তোমাদের সব কাজের খবর রাখেন।
If a wife fears cruelty or desertion on her husband's part, there is no blame on them if they arrange an amicable settlement between themselves; and such settlement is best; even though men's souls are swayed by greed. But if ye do good and practise self-restraint, Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do. |

অবশ্যই আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্যে হারাম করেছেন রক্ত, শুকরের মাংস এবং যা জবাই কালে আল্লাহ ছাড়া অন্যের নাম উচ্চারণ করা হয়েছে। অতঃপর কেউ সীমালঙ্ঘন কারী না হয়ে নিরুপায় হয়ে পড়লে তবে, আল্লাহ ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. |
