বলুন, বলতো দেখি, যদি তোমাদের উপর আল্লাহর শাস্তি পতিত হয় কিংবা তোমাদের কাছে কিয়ামত এসে যায়, তবে তোমরা কি আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অন্যকে ডাকবে যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও।
Say: "Think ye to yourselves, if there come upon you the wrath of Allah, or the Hour (that ye dread), would ye then call upon other than Allah?- (reply) if ye are truthful! |

বরং তোমরা তো তাঁকেই ডাকবে। অতঃপর যে বিপদের জন্যে তাঁকে ডাকবে, তিনি ইচ্ছা করলে তা দুরও করে দেন। যাদেরকে অংশীদার করছ, তখন তাদেরকে ভুলে যাবে।
"Nay,- On Him would ye call, and if it be His will, He would remove (the distress) which occasioned your call upon Him, and ye would forget (the false gods) which ye join with Him!" |

আর নির্দেশ হয়েছে আল্লাহ ব্যতীত এমন কাউকে ডাকবে না, যে তোমার ভাল করবে না মন্দও করবে না। বস্তুতঃ তুমি যদি এমন কাজ কর, তাহলে তখন তুমিও জালেমদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে যাবে।
"'Nor call on any, other than Allah;- Such will neither profit thee nor hurt thee: if thou dost, behold! thou shalt certainly be of those who do wrong.'" |

যেদিন তিনি বলবেনঃ তোমরা যাদেরকে আমার শরীক মনে করতে তাদেরকে ডাক। তারা তখন তাদেরকে ডাকবে, কিন্তু তারা এ আহবানে সাড়া দেবে না। আমি তাদের মধ্যস্থলে রেখে দেব একটি মৃত্যু গহবর।
One Day He will say, "Call on those whom ye thought to be My partners," and they will call on them, but they will not listen to them; and We shall make for them a place of common perdition. |

যখন এক শিকলে কয়েকজন বাঁধা অবস্থায় জাহান্নামের কোন সংকীর্ণ স্থানে নিক্ষেপ করা হবে, তখন সেখানে তারা মৃত্যুকে ডাকবে।
And when they are cast, bound together into a constricted place therein, they will plead for destruction there and then! |
(আল-ফুরকান:

বলা হবে, তোমরা তোমাদের শরীকদের আহবান কর। তখন তারা ডাকবে,। অতঃপর তারা তাদের ডাকে সাড়া দিবে না এবং তারা আযাব দেখবে। হায়! তারা যদি সৎপথ প্রাপ্ত হত।
It will be said (to them): "Call upon your 'partners' (for help)": they will call upon them, but they will not listen to them; and they will see the Penalty (before them); (how they will wish) 'if only they had been open to guidance!' |

সে সেই ব্যক্তিকে ডাকবে যে সত্যের প্রতি পৃষ্ঠপ্রদর্শন করেছিল ও বিমুখ হয়েছিল।
Inviting (all) such as turn their backs and turn away their faces (from the Right). |
