যে লোক রসূলের হুকুম মান্য করবে সে আল্লাহরই হুকুম মান্য করল। আর যে লোক বিমুখতা অবলম্বন করল, আমি আপনাকে (হে মুহাম্মদ), তাদের জন্য রক্ষণাবেক্ষণকারী নিযুক্ত করে পাঠাইনি।
He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds). |

আমি তোমাদেরকে পৃথিবীতে ঠাই দিয়েছি এবং তোমাদের জীবিকা নির্দিষ্ট করে দিয়েছি। তোমরা অল্পই কৃতজ্ঞতা স্বীকার কর।
It is We Who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give! |

আর আমি কোন জনপদে কোন নবী পাঠাইনি, তবে (এমতাবস্থায়) যে পাকড়াও করেছি সে জনপদের অধিবাসীদিগকে কষ্ট ও কঠোরতার মধ্যে, যাতে তারা শিথিল হয়ে পড়ে।
Whenever We sent a prophet to a town, We took up its people in suffering and adversity, in order that they might learn humility. |

তারা কোন আশ্রয়স্থল, কোন গুহা বা মাথা গোঁজার ঠাই পেলে সেদিকে পলায়ন করবে দ্রুতগতিতে।
If they could find a place to flee to, or caves, or a place of concealment, they would turn straightaway thereto, with an obstinate rush. |

যদি তারা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়, তবে আপনাকে আমি তাদের রক্ষক করে পাঠাইনি। আপনার কর্তব্য কেবল প্রচার করা। আমি তাদের রক্ষক করে পাঠাইনি। আপনার কর্তব্য কেবল প্রচার করা। আমি যখন মানুষকে আমার রহমত আস্বাদন করাই, তখন সে উল্লসিত, আর যখন তাদের কৃতকর্মের কারণে তাদের কোন অনিষ্ট ঘটে, তখন মানুষ খুব অকৃতজ্ঞ হয়ে যায়।
If then they run away, We have not sent thee as a guard over them. Thy duty is but to convey (the Message). And truly, when We give man a taste of a Mercy from Ourselves, he doth exult thereat, but when some ill happens to him, on account of the deeds which his hands have sent forth, truly then is man ungrateful! |
