তাদের পূর্বে কত মানব গোষ্ঠীকে আমি বিনাশ করেছি, তারা তাদের চাইতে সম্পদে ও জাঁক-জমকে শ্রেষ্ঠ ছিল।
But how many (countless) generations before them have we destroyed, who were even better in equipment and in glitter to the eye? |

তোমরা পাহাড় কেটে জাঁক জমকের গৃহ নির্মাণ করছ।
"And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. |

অতঃপর কারুন জাঁকজমক সহকারে তার সম্প্রদায়ের সামনে বের হল। যারা পার্থিব জীবন কামনা করত, তারা বলল, হায়, কারুন যা প্রাপ্ত হয়েছে, আমাদেরকে যদি তা দেয়া হত! নিশ্চয় সে বড় ভাগ্যবান।
So he went forth among his people in the (pride of his wordly) glitter. Said those whose aim is the Life of this World: "Oh! that we had the like of what Qarun has got! for he is truly a lord of mighty good fortune!" |
