আর যদি তা না পার-অবশ্য তা তোমরা কখনও পারবে না, তাহলে সে দোযখের আগুন থেকে রক্ষা পাওয়ার চেষ্টা কর, যার জ্বালানী হবে মানুষ ও পাথর। যা প্রস্তুত করা হয়েছে কাফেরদের জন্য।
But if ye cannot- and of a surety ye cannot- then fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones,- which is prepared for those who reject Faith. |

যে ব্যাক্তি আল্লাহর মসজিদসমূহে তাঁর নাম উচ্চারণ করতে বাধা দেয় এবং সেগুলোকে উজাড় করতে চেষ্টা করে, তার চাইতে বড় যালেম আর কে? এদের পক্ষে মসজিদসমূহে প্রবেশ করা বিধেয় নয়, অবশ্য ভীত-সন্ত্রস্ত অবস্থায়। ওদের জন্য ইহকালে লাঞ্ছনা এবং পরকালে কঠিন শাস্তি রয়েছে।
And who is more unjust than he who forbids that in places for the worship of Allah, Allah's name should be celebrated?-whose zeal is (in fact) to ruin them? It was not fitting that such should themselves enter them except in fear. For them there is nothing but disgrace in this world, and in the world to come, an exceeding torment. |

যখন ফিরে যায় তখন চেষ্টা করে যাতে সেখানে অকল্যাণ সৃষ্টি করতে পারে এবং শস্যক্ষেত্র ও প্রাণনাশ করতে পারে। আল্লাহ ফাসাদ ও দাঙ্গা-হাঙ্গামা পছন্দ করেন না।
When he turns his back, His aim everywhere is to spread mischief through the earth and destroy crops and cattle. But Allah loveth not mischief. |

তারা আল্লাহর প্রতি ও কিয়ামত দিবসের প্রতি ঈমান রাখে এবং কল্যাণকর বিষয়ের নির্দেশ দেয়; অকল্যাণ থেকে বারণ করে এবং সৎকাজের জন্য সাধ্যমত চেষ্টা করতে থাকে। আর এরাই হল সৎকর্মশীল।
They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous. |

তোমরা যেখানেই থাক না কেন; মৃত্যু কিন্তু তোমাদেরকে পাকড়াও করবেই। যদি তোমরা সুদৃঢ় দূর্গের ভেতরেও অবস্থান কর, তবুও। বস্তুতঃ তাদের কোন কল্যাণ সাধিত হলে তারা বলে যে, এটা সাধিত হয়েছে আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে। আর যদি তাদের কোন অকল্যাণ হয়, তবে বলে, এটা হয়েছে তোমার পক্ষ থেকে, বলে দাও, এসবই আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে। পক্ষান্তরে তাদের পরিণতি কি হবে, যারা কখনও কোন কথা বুঝতে চেষ্টা করে না।
"Wherever ye are, death will find you out, even if ye are in towers built up strong and high!" If some good befalls them, they say, "This is from Allah"; but if evil, they say, "This is from thee" (O Prophet). Say: "All things are from Allah." But what hath come to these people, that they fail to understand a single fact? |

তারা বললঃ আমরা তার সম্পর্কে তার পিতাকে সম্মত করার চেষ্টা করব এবং আমাদেরকে একাজ করতেই হবে।
They said: "We shall certainly seek to get our wish about him from his father: Indeed we shall do it." |
(ইউসূফ:

আর যারা পরকাল কামনা করে এবং মুমিন অবস্থায় তার জন্য যথাযথ চেষ্টা-সাধনা করে, এমন লোকদের চেষ্টা স্বীকৃত হয়ে থাকে।
Those who do wish for the (things of) the Hereafter, and strive therefor with all due striving, and have Faith,- they are the ones whose striving is acceptable (to Allah). |

তারা তো আপনাকে হটিয়ে দিতে চাচ্ছিল যে বিষয় আমি আপনার প্রতি ওহীর মাধ্যমে যা প্রেরণ করেছি তা থেকে আপনার পদঙ্খলন ঘটানোর জন্যে তারা চুড়ান্ত চেষ্টা করেছে, যাতে আপনি আমার প্রতি কিছু মিথ্যা সম্বন্ধযুক্ত করেন। এতে সফল হলে তারা আপনাকে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করে নিত।
And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in our name something quite different; (in that case), behold! they would certainly have made thee (their) friend! |

তারা তো আপনাকে এ ভুখন্ড থেকে উৎখাত করে দিতে চুড়ান্ত চেষ্টা করেছিল যাতে আপনাকে এখান থেকে বহিস্কার করে দেয়া যায়। তখন তারাও আপনার পর সেখানে অল্প কালই মাত্র টিকে থাকত।
Their purpose was to scare thee off the land, in order to expel thee; but in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after thee, except for a little while. |
(বনী ইসরাঈল:
আয়াতঃ ৭৬) |

তারাই সে লোক, যাদের প্রচেষ্টা পার্থিবজীবনে বিভ্রান্ত হয়, অথচ তারা মনে করে যে, তারা সৎকর্ম করেছে।
"Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life, while they thought that they were acquiring good by their works?" |
(কাহফ:
আয়াতঃ ১০৪) |

অতঃপর যে বিশ্বাসী অবস্থায় সৎকর্ম সম্পাদন করে, তার প্রচেষ্টা অস্বীকৃত হবে না এবং আমি তা লিপিবদ্ধ করে রাখি।
Whoever works any act of righteousness and has faith,- His endeavour will not be rejected: We shall record it in his favour. |
(আম্বিয়া:
আয়াতঃ ৯৪) |

এবং যারা আমার আয়াতসমূহকে ব্যর্থ করার জন্যে চেষ্টা করে, তারাই দোযখের অধিবাসী।
"But those who strive against Our Signs, to frustrate them,- they will be Companions of the Fire." |
(হাজ্জ্ব:
আয়াতঃ ৫১) |

আমি মানুষকে পিতা-মাতার সাথে সদ্ব্যবহার করার জোর নির্দেশ দিয়েছি। যদি তারা তোমাকে আমার সাথে এমন কিছু শরীক করার জোর প্রচেষ্টা চালায়, যার সম্পর্কে তোমার কোন জ্ঞান নেই, তবে তাদের আনুগত্য করো না। আমারই দিকে তোমাদের প্রত্যাবর্তন। অতঃপর আমি তোমাদেরকে বলে দেব যা কিছু তোমরা করতে।
We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did. |
(আল আনকাবুত:

এটা তোমাদের প্রতিদান। তোমাদের প্রচেষ্টা স্বীকৃতি লাভ করেছে।
"Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." |
(আদ-দাহর:
আয়াতঃ ২২) |

অতঃপর সে প্রতিকার চেষ্টায় প্রস্থান করল।
Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). |

নিশ্চয় তোমাদের কর্ম প্রচেষ্টা বিভিন্ন ধরনের।
Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. |
(আল লায়ল:
আয়াতঃ ৪) |
