মূসার পরে তুমি কি বনী ইসরাঈলের একটি দলকে দেখনি, যখন তারা বলেছে নিজেদের নবীর কাছে যে, আমাদের জন্য একজন বাদশাহ নির্ধারিত করে দিন যাতে আমরা আল্লাহর পথে যুদ্ধ করতে পারি। নবী বললেন, তোমাদের প্রতিও কি এমন ধারণা করা যায় যে, লড়াইর হুকুম যদি হয়, তাহলে তখন তোমরা লড়বে না? তারা বলল, আমাদের কি হয়েছে যে, আমরা আল্লাহর পথে লড়াই করব না। অথচ আমরা বিতাড়িত হয়েছি নিজেদের ঘর-বাড়ী ও সন্তান-সন্ততি থেকে। অতঃপর যখন লড়াইয়ের নির্দেশ হলো, তখন সামান্য কয়েকজন ছাড়া তাদের সবাই ঘুরে দাঁড়ালো। আর আল্লাহ তা’আলা জালেমদের ভাল করেই জানেন।
Hast thou not Turned thy vision to the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Moses? they said to a prophet (That was) among them: "Appoint for us a king, that we May fight in the cause of Allah." He said: "Is it not possible, if ye were commanded to fight, that that ye will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to fight in the cause of Allah, seeing that we were turned out of our homes and our families?" but when they were commanded to fight, they turned back, except a small band among them. But Allah Has full knowledge of those who do wrong. |

তোমাদের যে দুটি দল লড়াইয়ের দিনে ঘুরে দাঁড়িয়েছিল শয়তান তাদেরকে বিভ্রান্ত করেছিল, তাদেরই পাপের দরুন।
Those of you who turned back on the day the two hosts Met,-it was Satan who caused them to fail, because of some (evil) they had done. But Allah Has blotted out (their fault): For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Forbearing. |

যারা পরকালে বিশ্বাস করে না, আমি তাদের দৃষ্টিতে তাদের কর্মকান্ডকে সুশোভিত করে দিয়েছি। অতএব, তারা উদভ্রান্ত হয়ে ঘুরে বেড়ায়।
As to those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds pleasing in their eyes; and so they wander about in distraction. |

যদি আপনি তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস করেন, কে নভোমন্ডল ও ভূ-মন্ডল সৃষ্টি করেছে, চন্দ্র ও সূর্যকে কর্মে নিয়োজিত করেছে? তবে তারা অবশ্যই বলবে আল্লাহ। তাহলে তারা কোথায় ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছে?
If indeed thou ask them who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law), they will certainly reply, "Allah". How are they then deluded away (from the truth)? |

Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, |
