তুমি কি সে লোককে দেখনি, যে পালনকর্তার ব্যাপারে বাদানুবাদ করেছিল ইব্রাহীমের সাথে এ কারণে যে, আল্লাহ সে ব্যাক্তিকে রাজ্য দান করেছিলেন? ইব্রাহীম যখন বললেন, আমার পালনকর্তা হলেন তিনি, যিনি জীবন দান করেন এবং মৃত্যু ঘটান। সে বলল, আমি জীবন দান করি এবং মৃত্যু ঘটিয়ে থাকি। ইব্রাহীম বললেন, নিশ্চয়ই তিনি সুর্যকে উদিত করেন পূর্ব দিক থেকে এবার তুমি তাকে পশ্চিম দিক থেকে উদিত কর। তখন সে কাফের হতভম্ব হয়ে গেল। আর আল্লাহ সীমালংঘণকারী সম্প্রদায়কে সরল পথ প্রদর্শন করেন না।
Hast thou not Turned thy vision to one who disputed with Abraham About his Lord, because Allah had granted him power? Abraham said: "My Lord is He Who Giveth life and death." He said: "I give life and death". Said Abraham: "But it is Allah that causeth the sun to rise from the east: Do thou then cause him to rise from the West." Thus was he confounded who (in arrogance) rejected faith. Nor doth Allah Give guidance to a people unjust. |

তোমরাই হলে সর্বোত্তম উম্মত, মানবজাতির কল্যানের জন্যেই তোমাদের উদ্ভব ঘটানো হয়েছে। তোমরা সৎকাজের নির্দেশ দান করবে ও অন্যায় কাজে বাধা দেবে এবং আল্লাহর প্রতি ঈমান আনবে। আর আহলে-কিতাবরা যদি ঈমান আনতো, তাহলে তা তাদের জন্য মঙ্গলকর হতো। তাদের মধ্যে কিছু তো রয়েছে ঈমানদার আর অধিকাংশই হলো পাপাচারী।
Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors. |

নিশ্চয় আল্লাহরই জন্য আসমানসমূহ ও যমীনের সাম্রাজ্য। তিনিই জিন্দা করেন ও মৃত্যু ঘটান, আর আল্লাহ ব্যতীত তোমাদের জন্য কোন সহায়ও নেই, কোন সাহায্যকারীও নেই।
Unto Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He giveth life and He taketh it. Except for Him ye have no protector nor helper. |
(আত তাওবাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১১৬) |

তবুও ওরা একথাই বলবে যে, আমাদের দৃষ্টির বিভ্রাট ঘটানো হয়েছে না বরং আমরা যাদুগ্রস্ত হয়ে পড়েছি।
They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery." |
(হিজর:

তারা তো আপনাকে হটিয়ে দিতে চাচ্ছিল যে বিষয় আমি আপনার প্রতি ওহীর মাধ্যমে যা প্রেরণ করেছি তা থেকে আপনার পদঙ্খলন ঘটানোর জন্যে তারা চুড়ান্ত চেষ্টা করেছে, যাতে আপনি আমার প্রতি কিছু মিথ্যা সম্বন্ধযুক্ত করেন। এতে সফল হলে তারা আপনাকে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করে নিত।
And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in our name something quite different; (in that case), behold! they would certainly have made thee (their) friend! |

তিনিই প্রাণ দান করেন এবং মৃত্যু ঘটান এবং দিবা-রাত্রির বিবর্তন তাঁরই কাজ, তবু ও কি তোমরা বুঝবে না?
It is He Who gives life and death, and to Him (is due) the alternation of Night and Day: will ye not then understand? |

আল্লাহ দিন ও রাত্রির পরিবর্তন ঘটান। এতে অর্ন্তদৃষ্টি-সম্পন্নগণের জন্যে চিন্তার উপকরণ রয়েছে।
It is Allah Who alternates the Night and the Day: verily in these things is an instructive example for those who have vision! |

আয়াতঃ ৪৪) |

নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলের রাজত্ব তাঁরই। তিনি জীবন দান করেন ও মৃত্যু ঘটান। তিনি সবকিছু করতে সক্ষম।
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: It is He Who gives Life and Death; and He has Power over all things. |

অতঃপর তার মৃত্যু ঘটান ও কবরস্থ করেন তাকে।
Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; |
