তারপর যখন মূসা নিজ সম্প্রদায়ে ফিরে এলেন রাগাম্বিত ও অনুতপ্ত অবস্থায়, তখন বললেন, আমার অনুপস্থিতিতে তোমরা আমার কি নিকৃষ্ট প্রতিনিধিত্বটাই না করেছ। তোমরা নিজ পরওয়ারদেগারের হুকুম থেকে কি তাড়াহুড়া করে ফেললে এবং সে তখতীগুলো ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দিলেন এবং নিজের ভাইয়ের মাথার চুল চেপে ধরে নিজের দিকে টানতে লাগলেন। ভাই বললেন, হে আমার মায়ের পুত্র, লোকগুলো যে আমাকে দুর্বল মনে করল এবং আমাকে যে মেরে ফেলার উপক্রম করেছিল। সুতরাং আমার উপর আর শত্রুদের হাসিও না। আর আমাকে জালিমদের সারিতে গন্য করো না।
When Moses came back to his people, angry and grieved, he said: "Evil it is that ye have done in my place in my absence: did ye make haste to bring on the judgment of your Lord?" He put down the tablets, seized his brother by (the hair of) his head, and dragged him to him. Aaron said: "Son of my mother! the people did indeed reckon me as naught, and went near to slaying me! Make not the enemies rejoice over my misfortune, nor count thou me amongst the people of sin." |

তারা আল্লাহর আয়াত সমূহ নগন্য মুল্যে বিক্রয় করে, অতঃপর লোকদের নিবৃত রাখে তাঁর পথ থেকে, তারা যা করে চলছে, তা অতি নিকৃষ্ট।
The Signs of Allah have they sold for a miserable price, and (many) have they hindered from His way: evil indeed are the deeds they have done. |

আবার কোন কোন বেদুইন এমন ও রয়েছে যারা নিজেদের ব্যয় করাকে জরিমানা। বলে গন্য করে এবং তোমার উপর কোন দুর্দিন আসে কিনা সে অপেক্ষায় থাকে। তাদেরই উপর দুর্দিন আসুক। আর আল্লাহ হচ্ছেন শ্রবণকারী, পরিজ্ঞাত।
Some of the desert Arabs look upon their payments as a fine, and watch for disasters for you: on them be the disaster of evil: for Allah is He That heareth and knoweth (all things). |

যখন আমরা তোমাদেরকে বিশ্ব-পালনকর্তার সমতুল্য গন্য করতাম।
