তারা বলেঃ আগুন আমাদিগকে কখনও স্পর্শ করবে না; কিন্তু গণাগনতি কয়েকদিন। বলে দিনঃ তোমরা কি আল্লাহর কাছ থেকে কোন অঙ্গীকার পেয়েছ যে, আল্লাহ কখনও তার খেলাফ করবেন না-না তোমরা যা জান না, তা আল্লাহর সাথে জুড়ে দিচ্ছ।
And they say: "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days:" Say: "Have ye taken a promise from Allah, for He never breaks His promise? or is it that ye say of Allah what ye do not know?" |

হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! আমাদেরকে দাও, যা তুমি ওয়াদা করেছ তোমার রসূলগণের মাধ্যমে এবং কিয়ামতের দিন আমাদিগকে তুমি অপমানিত করো না। নিশ্চয় তুমি ওয়াদা খেলাফ করো না।
"Our Lord! Grant us what Thou didst promise unto us through Thine messengers, and save us from shame on the Day of Judgment: For Thou never breakest Thy promise." |

যদি কোন কোরআন এমন হত, যার সাহায্যে পাহাড় চলমান হয় অথবা যমীন খন্ডিত হয় অথবা মৃতরা কথা বলে, তবে কি হত? বরং সব কাজ তো আল্লাহর হাতে। ঈমানদাররা কি এ ব্যাপারে নিশ্চিত নয় যে, যদি আল্লাহ চাইতেন, তবে সব মানুষকে সৎপথে পরিচালিত করতেন? কাফেররা তাদের কৃতকর্মের কারণে সব সময় আঘাত পেতে থাকবে অথবা তাদের গৃহের নিকটবর্তী স্থানে আঘাত নেমে আসবে, যে, পর্যন্ত আল্লাহর ওয়াদা না আসে। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ ওয়াদার খেলাফ করেন না।
If there were a Qur'an with which mountains were moved, or the earth were cloven asunder, or the dead were made to speak, (this would be the one!) But, truly, the command is with Allah in all things! Do not the Believers know, that, had Allah (so) willed, He could have guided all mankind (to the right)? But the Unbelievers,- never will disaster cease to seize them for their (ill) deeds, or to settle close to their homes, until the promise of Allah come to pass, for, verily, Allah will not fail in His promise. |

অতএব, আমরাও তোমার মোকাবেলায় তোমার নিকট অনুরূপ যাদু উপস্থিত করব। সুতরাং আমাদের ও তোমার মধ্যে একটি ওয়াদার দিন ঠিক কর, যার খেলাফ আমরাও করব না এবং তুমিও করবে না একটি পরিষ্কার প্রান্তরে।
"But we can surely produce magic to match thine! So make a tryst between us and thee, which we shall not fail to keep - neither we nor thou - in a place where both shall have even chances." |

আল্লাহর প্রতিশ্রুতি হয়ে গেছে। আল্লাহ তার প্রতিশ্রুতি খেলাফ করবেন না। কিন্তু অধিকাংশ লোক জানে না।
(It is) the promise of Allah. Never does Allah depart from His promise: but most men understand not. |

কিন্তু যারা তাদের পালনকর্তাকে ভয় করে, তাদের জন্যে নির্মিত রয়েছে প্রাসাদের উপর প্রাসাদ। এগুলোর তলদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত। আল্লাহ প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন। আল্লাহ প্রতিশ্রুতির খেলাফ করেন না।
But it is for those who fear their Lord. That lofty mansions, one above another, have been built: beneath them flow rivers (of delight): (such is) the Promise of Allah: never doth Allah fail in (His) promise. |
