হে ঈমানদারগণ, তোমরা ন্যায়ের উপর প্রতিষ্ঠিত থাক; আল্লাহর ওয়াস্তে ন্যায়সঙ্গত সাক্ষ্যদান কর, তাতে তোমাদের নিজের বা পিতা-মাতার অথবা নিকটবর্তী আত্নীয়-স্বজনের যদি ক্ষতি হয় তবুও। কেউ যদি ধনী কিংবা দরিদ্র হয়, তবে আল্লাহ তাদের শুভাকাঙ্খী তোমাদের চাইতে বেশী। অতএব, তোমরা বিচার করতে গিয়ে রিপুর কামনা-বাসনার অনুসরণ করো না। আর যদি তোমরা ঘুরিয়ে-পেঁচিয়ে কথা বল কিংবা পাশ কাটিয়ে যাও, তবে আল্লাহ তোমাদের যাবতীয় কাজ কর্ম সম্পর্কেই অবগত।
O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do. |

যখন নির্দেশ দান করেন ফেরেশতাদিগকে তোমাদের পরওয়ারদেগার যে, আমি সাথে রয়েছি তোমাদের, সুতরাং তোমরা মুসলমানদের চিত্তসমূহকে ধীরস্থির করে রাখ। আমি কাফেরদের মনে ভীতির সঞ্চার করে দেব। কাজেই গর্দানের উপর আঘাত হান এবং তাদেরকে কাট জোড়ায় জোড়ায়।
Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them." |

বললঃ তোমরা সাত বছর উত্তম রূপে চাষাবাদ করবে। অতঃপর যা কাটবে, তার মধ্যে যে সামান্য পরিমাণ তোমরা খাবে তা ছাড়া অবশিষ্ট শস্য শীষ সমেত রেখে দেবে।
(Joseph) said: "For seven years shall ye diligently sow as is your wont: and the harvests that ye reap, ye shall leave them in the ear,- except a little, of which ye shall eat. |

তোমাদের কাছে যে সমস্ত নেয়ামত আছে, তা আল্লাহরই পক্ষ থেকে। অতঃপর তোমরা যখন দুঃখে-কষ্টে পতিত হও তখন তাঁরই নিকট কান্নাকাটি কর।
And ye have no good thing but is from Allah: and moreover, when ye are touched by distress, unto Him ye cry with groans; |

তোমরা ঐ মহিলার মত হয়ো না, যে পরিশ্রমের পর কাটা সূতা টুকরো টুকরো করে ছিড়ে ফেলে, তোমরা নিজেদের কসমসমূহকে পারস্পরিক প্রবঞ্চনার বাহানা রূপে গ্রহণ কর এজন্যে যে, অন্য দল অপেক্ষা এক দল অধিক ক্ষমতাবান হয়ে যায়। এতদ্বারা তো আল্লাহ শুধু তোমাদের পরীক্ষা করেন। আল্লাহ অবশ্যই কিয়ামতের দিন প্রকাশ করে দেবেন, যে বিষয়ে তোমরা কলহ করতে।
And be not like a woman who breaks into untwisted strands the yarn which she has spun, after it has become strong. Nor take your oaths to practise deception between yourselves, lest one party should be more numerous than another: for Allah will test you by this; and on the Day of Judgment He will certainly make clear to you (the truth of) that wherein ye disagree. |

নৌকাটির ব্যাপারে-সেটি ছিল কয়েকজন দরিদ্র ব্যক্তির। তারা সমুদ্রে জীবিকা অন্বেষন করত। আমি ইচ্ছা করলাম যে, সেটিকে ক্রটিযুক্ত করে দেই। তাদের অপরদিকে ছিল এক বাদশাহ। সে বলপ্রয়োগে প্রত্যেকটি নৌকা ছিনিয়ে নিত।
"As for the boat, it belonged to certain men in dire want: they plied on the water: I but wished to render it unserviceable, for there was after them a certain king who seized on every boat by force. |

ফেরাউন বলল, আমরা কি তোমাকে শিশু অবস্থায় আমাদের মধ্যে লালন-পালন করিনি? এবং তুমি আমাদের মধ্যে জীবনের বহু বছর কাটিয়েছ।
(Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? |
(আশ-শো'আরা:

তারা তথায় কথা কাটাকাটিতে লিপ্ত হয়ে বলবেঃ
"They will say there in their mutual bickerings: |

কাফেররা বলে, আমরা কখনও এ কোরআনে বিশ্বাস করব না এবং এর পূর্ববর্তী কিতাবেও নয়। আপনি যদি পাপিষ্ঠদেরকে দেখতেন, যখন তাদেরকে তাদের পালনকর্তার সামনে দাঁড় করানো হবে, , তখন তারা পরস্পর কথা কাটাকাটি করবে। যাদেরকে দুর্বল মনে করা হত, তারা অহংকারীদেরকে বলবে, তোমরা না থাকলে আমরা অবশ্যই মুমিন হতাম।
The Unbelievers say: "We shall neither believe in this scripture nor in (any) that (came) before it." Couldst thou but see when the wrong-doers will be made to stand before their Lord, throwing back the word (of blame) on one another! Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers!" |

অতঃপর কেয়ামতের দিন তোমরা সবাই তোমাদের পালনকর্তার সামনে কথা কাটাকাটি করবে।
In the end will ye (all), on the Day of Judgment, settle your disputes in the presence of your Lord. |

যে আপনার শত্রু, সেই তো লেজকাটা, নির্বংশ।
For he who hateth thee, he will be cut off (from Future Hope). |
