বলুন, হে আহলে কিতাবগণ! কেন তোমরা আল্লাহর পথে ঈমানদারদিগকে বাধা দান কর-তোমরা তাদের দ্বীনের মধ্যে বক্রতা অনুপ্রবেশ করানোর পন্থা অনুসন্ধান কর, অথচ তোমরা এ পথের সত্যতা প্রত্যক্ষ করছ। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ তোমাদের কার্যকলাপ সম্পর্কে অনবগত নন।
Say: "O ye People of the Book! Why obstruct ye those who believe, from the path of Allah, Seeking to make it crooked, while ye were yourselves witnesses (to Allah's Covenant)? but Allah is not unmindful of all that ye do." |

মুসলমানের কাজ নয় যে, মুসলমানকে হত্যা করে; কিন্তু ভুলক্রমে। যে ব্যক্তি মুসলমানকে ভূলক্রমে হত্যা করে, সে একজন মুসলমান ক্রীতদাস মুক্ত করবে এবং রক্ত বিনিময় সমর্পন করবে তার স্বজনদেরকে; কিন্তু যদি তারা ক্ষমা করে দেয়। অতঃপর যদি নিহত ব্যক্তি তোমাদের শত্রু সম্প্রদায়ের অন্তর্গত হয়, তবে মুসলমান ক্রীতদাস মুক্ত করবে এবং যদি সে তোমাদের সাথে চুক্তিবদ্ধ কোন সম্প্রদায়ের অন্তর্গত হয়, তবে রক্ত বিনিময় সমর্পণ করবে তার স্বজনদেরকে এবং একজন মুসলমান ক্রীতদাস মুক্ত করবে। অতঃপর যে ব্যক্তি না পায়, সে আল্লাহর কাছ থেকে গোনাহ মাফ করানোর জন্যে উপর্যুপুরি দুই মাস রোযা রাখবে। আল্লাহ, মহাজ্ঞানী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
Never should a believer kill a believer; but (If it so happens) by mistake, (Compensation is due): If one (so) kills a believer, it is ordained that he should free a believing slave, and pay compensation to the deceased's family, unless they remit it freely. If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you, and he was a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (Is enough). If he belonged to a people with whom ye have treaty of Mutual alliance, compensation should be paid to his family, and a believing slave be freed. For those who find this beyond their means, (is prescribed) a fast for two months running: by way of repentance to Allah: for Allah hath all knowledge and all wisdom. |

স্মরণ করানোর জন্যে, এবং আমার কাজ অন্যায়াচরণ নয়।
By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. |

যখন তিনি মাদইয়ানের কূপের ধারে পৌছলেন, তখন কূপের কাছে একদল লোককে পেলেন তারা জন্তুদেরকে পানি পান করানোর কাজে রত। এবং তাদের পশ্চাতে দূ’জন স্ত্রীলোককে দেখলেন তারা তাদের জন্তুদেরকে আগলিয়ে রাখছে। তিনি বললেন, তোমাদের কি ব্যাপার? তারা বলল, আমরা আমাদের জন্তুদেরকে পানি পান করাতে পারি না, যে পর্যন্ত রাখালরা তাদের জন্তুদেরকে নিয়ে সরে না যায়। আমাদের পিতা খুবই বৃদ্ধ।
And when he arrived at the watering (place) in Madyan, he found there a group of men watering (their flocks), and besides them he found two women who were keeping back (their flocks). He said: "What is the matter with you?" They said: "We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take back (their flocks): And our father is a very old man." |

অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকে পার্থিব জীবনে লাঞ্ছনার আযাব আস্বাদন করানোর জন্যে তাদের উপর প্রেরণ করলাম ঝঞ্ঝাবায়ু বেশ কতিপয় অশুভ দিনে। আর পরকালের আযাব তো আরও লাঞ্ছনাকর এমতাবস্থায় যে, তারা সাহায্যপ্রাপ্ত হবে না।
So We sent against them a furious Wind through days of disaster, that We might give them a taste of a Penalty of humiliation in this life; but the Penalty of a Hereafter will be more humiliating still: and they will find no help. |
(হা-মীম সেজদাহ:

অতঃপর আল্লাহর রসূল তাদেরকে বলেছিলেনঃ আল্লাহর উষ্ট্রী ও তাকে পানি পান করানোর ব্যাপারে সতর্ক থাক।
But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a She-camel of Allah! And (bar her not from) having her drink!" |
