আর এমন কিছু লোক রযেছে যাদের পার্থিব জীবনের কথাবার্তা তোমাকে চমৎকৃত করবে। আর তারা সাক্ষ্য স্থাপন করে আল্লাহকে নিজের মনের কথার ব্যাপারে। প্রকৃতপক্ষে তারা কঠিন ঝগড়াটে লোক।
There is the type of man whose speech about this world's life May dazzle thee, and he calls Allah to witness about what is in his heart; yet is he the most contentious of enemies. |

কোন কোন ইহুদী তার লক্ষ্য থেকে কথার মোড় ঘুড়িয়ে নেয় এবং বলে, আমরা শুনেছি কিন্তু অমান্য করছি। তারা আরো বলে, শোন, না শোনার মত। মুখ বাঁকিয়ে দ্বীনের প্রতি তাচ্ছিল্য প্রদর্শনের উদ্দেশে বলে, রায়েনা’ (আমাদের রাখাল)। অথচ যদি তারা বলত যে, আমরা শুনেছি ও মান্য করেছি এবং (যদি বলত, ) শোন এবং আমাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য রাখ, তবে তাই ছিল তাদের জন্য উত্তম আর সেটাই ছিল যথার্থ ও সঠিক। কিন্তু আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি অভিসম্পাত করেছেন তাদের কুফরীর দরুন। অতএব, তারা ঈমান আনছে না, কিন্তু অতি অল্পসংখ্যক।
Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith. If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe. |

আর তারা বলে, আপনার আনুগত্য করি। অতঃপর আপনার নিকট থেকে বেরিয়ে গেলেই তাদের মধ্য থেকে কেউ কেউ পরামর্শ করে রাতের বেলায় সে কথার পরিপন্থী যা তারা আপনার সাথে বলেছিল। আর আল্লাহ লিখে নেন, সে সব পরামর্শ যা তারা করে থাকে। সুতরাং আপনি তাদের ব্যাপারে নিস্পৃহতা অবলম্বন করুন এবং ভরসা করুন আল্লাহর উপর, আল্লাহ হলেন যথেষ্ট ও কার্যসম্পাদনকারী।
They have "Obedience" on their lips; but when they leave thee, a section of them Meditate all night on things very different from what thou tellest them. But Allah records their nightly (plots): So keep clear of them, and put thy trust in Allah, and enough is Allah as a disposer of affairs. |

আর তাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ নবীকে ক্লেশ দেয়, এবং বলে, এ লোকটি তো কানসর্বস্ব। আপনি বলে দিন, কান হলেও তোমাদেরই মঙ্গলের জন্য, আল্লাহর উপর বিশ্বাস রাখে এবং বিশ্বাস রাখে মুসলমানদের কথার উপর। বস্তুতঃ তোমাদের মধ্যে যারা ঈমানদার তাদের জন্য তিনি রহমতবিশেষ। আর যারা আল্লাহর রসূলের প্রতি কুৎসা রটনা করে, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে বেদনাদায়ক আযাব।
Among them are men who molest the Prophet and say, "He is (all) ear." Say, "He listens to what is best for you: he believes in Allah, has faith in the Believers, and is a Mercy to those of you who believe." But those who molest the Messenger will have a grievous penalty. |

আর যদি তুমি তাদের কাছে জিজ্ঞেস কর, তবে তারা বলবে, আমরা তো কথার কথা বলছিলাম এবং কৌতুক করছিলাম। আপনি বলুন, তোমরা কি আল্লাহর সাথে, তাঁর হুকুম আহকামের সাথে এবং তাঁর রসূলের সাথে ঠাট্টা করছিলে?
If thou dost question them, they declare (with emphasis): "We were only talking idly and in play." Say: "Was it at Allah, and His Signs, and His Messenger, that ye were mocking?" |

আর ঈমানদার পুরুষ ও ঈমানদার নারী একে অপরের সহায়ক। তারা ভাল কথার শিক্ষা দেয় এবং মন্দ থেকে বিরত রাখে। নামায প্রতিষ্ঠা করে, যাকাত দেয় এবং আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূলের নির্দেশ অনুযায়ী জীবন যাপন করে। এদেরই উপর আল্লাহ তা’আলা দয়া করবেন। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ পরাক্রমশীল, সুকৌশলী।
The Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practise regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise. |

তাদের জন্য সুসংবাদ পার্থিব জীবনে ও পরকালীন জীবনে। আল্লাহর কথার কখনো হের-ফের হয় না। এটাই হল মহা সফলতা।
For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present and in the Hereafter; no change can there be in the words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme felicity. |

তারা কি দেখে না যে, এটা তাদের কোন কথার উত্তর দেয় না এবং তারে কোন ক্ষতি ও উপকার করার ক্ষমতাও রাখে না?
Could they not see that it could not return them a word (for answer), and that it had no power either to harm them or to do them good? |

যাতে আমি সৎকর্ম করতে পারি, যা আমি করিনি। কখনই নয়, এ তো তার একটি কথার কথা মাত্র। তাদের সামনে পর্দা আছে পুনরুত্থান দিবস পর্যন্ত।
"In order that I may work righteousness in the things I neglected." - "By no means! It is but a word he says."- Before them is a Partition till the Day they are raised up. |

আমি ইচ্ছা করলে আপনাকে তাদের সাথে পরিচিত করে দিতাম। তখন আপনি তাদের চেহারা দেখে তাদেরকে চিনতে পারতেন এবং আপনি অবশ্যই কথার ভঙ্গিতে তাদেরকে চিনতে পারবেন। আল্লাহ তোমাদের কর্মসমূহের খবর রাখেন।
Had We so wiled, We could have shown them up to thee, and thou shouldst have known them by their marks: but surely thou wilt know them by the tone of their speech! And Allah knows all that ye do. |

যিনি নভোমন্ডল, ভূমন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছুর পালনকর্তা, দয়াময়, কেউ তাঁর সাথে কথার অধিকারী হবে না।
(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between, (Allah) Most Gracious: None shall have power to argue with Him. |
