আর যখন আল্লাহ দু’টি দলের একটির ব্যাপারে তোমাদের সাথে ওয়াদা করেছিলেন যে, সেটি তোমাদের হস্তগত হবে, আর তোমরা কামনা করছিলে যাতে কোন রকম কন্টক নেই, তাই তোমাদের ভাগে আসুক; অথচ আল্লাহ চাইতেন সত্যকে স্বীয় কালামের মাধ্যমে সত্যে পরিণত করতে এবং কাফেরদের মূল কর্তন করে দিতে,
Behold! Allah promised you one of the two (enemy) parties, that it should be yours: Ye wished that the one unarmed should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the Truth according to His words and to cut off the roots of the Unbelievers;- |

যাতে পৃথক করে দেন আল্লাহ অপবিত্র ও না-পাককে পবিত্র ও পাক থেকে। আর যাতে একটির পর একটিকে স্থাপন করে সমবেত স্তুপে পরিণত করেন এবং পরে দোযখে নিক্ষেপ করেন। এরাই হল ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।
In order that Allah may separate the impure from the pure, put the impure, one on another, heap them together, and cast them into Hell. They will be the ones to have lost. |

এবং যমিনে বিভিন্ন শস্য ক্ষেত্র রয়েছে-একটি অপরটির সাথে সংলগ্ন এবং আঙ্গুরের বাগান আছে আর শস্য ও খজ্জꦣ2497;র রয়েছে-একটির মূল অপরটির সাথে মিলিত এবং কতক মিলিত নয়। এগুলো কে একই পানি দ্বারা সেচ করা হয়। আর আমি স্বাদে একটিকে অপরটির চাইতে উৎকৃষ্টতর করে দেই। এগুলোর মধ্যে নিদর্শণ রয়েছে তাদের জন্য যারা চিন্তা ভাবনা করে।
And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighbouring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees - growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who understand! |
